Luffy being special isn’t an issue but I just don’t like the concept of stuff being destined to happen. If it ends up with Luffy was always going to become ok and free the world I’d be disappointed especially since that goes against the being the freest person thing but if his choices leads him to being a savior that’s fine.

Ya they’ve only been in the new world for about 2 month and we’re only sailing pre TS for maybe 3-4 month. For a real world compression it only takes a month to sail across the Atlantic and 2-3 month to sail across the Pacific.

Reminder the league average ft% is 77.3% so the odds someone makes 3 consecutive FTAs is 46.2% ie they would most likely miss at least 1. But LeBron and the lakers are poor FT shooters so the extra practice is likely needed.

The fight isn’t a legitimate 1v1 and credit should be given where it’s due. Law, Kid, Zoro, and Killer all deserve at least come credit. Yamato and the scabbards as well. But Luffy should get the majority of it. Kaido may be nerfing himself by flying Onigashima but that’s unclear. Overall it shouldn’t be treated as if Luffy 1v1d Kaido but it shouldn’t be ignored that he’s done like +75% of the work.

A lot of the records get broken due to new technology rather than improved skill or athleticism. Like runners starting on blocks and running on tracks rather than dirt or swimming pools with drainage systems that reduce turbulence in the water. Some of the tech improvements make the athletes actually more athletic but that has more to do with medical tech where other tech just makes anyone perform better.

A guy in my area who was pretty good all around but was know for spladling made it to Ca state with 3 spladles at sections. Then got double legged to hell in the finals because he’s best strategy was to bait out a single leg and go for the spladle.

If we’re talking about how much an advantage having a NBA parent is to making the NBA then you’d need to compare their likely hood to non NBA parents. Making the NBA is ridiculously hard. According to Statista there were 540.7k high school basketball players in 2019 (using HS players because pretty everyone who played HS basketball would want to play in the NBA and put at least a tiny effort to try); 135.2k per grade. So 60 draft spots per year out of 135.2k basketball players is 1/36,051. If an NBA players kid has a 1/1,000 chance to make the NBA then they still have a massive advantage over the rest even if their odds are incredibly small.
