    Simple and Fair Point on why is a must for all farm produce anywhere in the world by

    Markets don't determine the prices of industrial products. Price of all industrial goods, including FMCG, are fixed by manufacturers. These products come in market with a fixed price tag. Its only for farm produce that there is no price tag. That's why farmers suffer. My article.

    Nice Piece from on agricultural pricing arguing that farmers must have legal right on MSPs. Furthermore it is important to have an implementing mechanism to such legal right apart from its legislation.

    Seems like we do need a National Accountability Commision over and above the , say attached with CAG & jointly which keeps track of these heavy bureaucratic pronouncements and the flush of public money down the drain. Big Data Tech helps to track it now.

    Wht happened to the magic of Jatropha? Erstwhile Planning Commission had talked of meeting 20% of diesel requirement with Jatropha bio-fuel. It was planned to bring 13 million hectares under Jatropha by 2013. Sharing my 2010 article.

    I live in Rishikesh, North India. We have had a torrential amount of monsoon rain recently. But no flooding. Why? There are dry river beds every few kilometers. No one has built over them. In monsoon they fill with water and become rivers that drain to the Ganga River.

    Why such a simple economics with clear analogy do not register in mind of people sitting in Ugyog Bhawan, Krishi Bhawan and North Block?

    Considering that 56% of GDP comes from consumption demand, imagine the rise in demand if farmers were to receive a guaranteed price for their produce by making it obligatory for the trade not to buy below . At present, only 6% farmers get an assured price.
