Cultural division is a tactic by oldNorman in LateStageCapitalism

[–]DirksSexyBratwurst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but this strategy works on Libs too, who can be convinced to be progressive on social issues, but when the conversations inevitably involve class because those things clearly intersect they become silent. For example, notice how much more the media and woke corpororation ads were ready to talk about ending police brutality, but seems to be much less willing to entertain the need for wealth redistribution? And these are the sources feeding people who dont know better the priorities as to how they are voting. I don't think that's a mistake. I also find it annoying, and very insidious, that wealth redistribution would quell the flames of the culture war we're talking about. Keep the people poor and desperate and they won't even be cognizant enough to realize what their real problems are.

They would have a very hard time beating the Suns or Grizzlies without Kawhi. Seems like far too wishful thinking. They beat the Jazz which was very impressive but I wouldn't count on that happening again, and that wasn't a full series of not having Kawhi

Who are/were some of the most influential players ever? by cyb3ryung in nba

Maybe Dirk for his one foot fadeaway and European representation in the mainstream. Also as a shooting big man which was very novel at the time

[–]DirksSexyBratwurst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think so, but I also think it's a bit naive to think being easy to work with is necessarily conducive to being a good basketball team when really you need to hold people accountable. That is in the traditional sense that easy to work with means non argumentative

Do you expect the following players to return to action by/during the postseason? by tdotshark in nba

[–]DirksSexyBratwurst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wiseman has no earned respect to be thrown in the middle of the playoffs when they have Kuminga and Moody thay they should trust more and even those guys are going to be fighting for minutes in the playoffs

Bulls timeline just didn't make sense(although the rift in the locker room with the vets was bad) and I really don't see the major issues he had with Philly. Yeah I agree he was toxic with the Wolves but that's what you gotta do to force a trade, shitty as it is. Can't forget he asked for a trade in the offseason and Thibs didn't budge. I can't say I wouldn't force my way out either. That's the thing about players not having any control of where they play for the first 8 years of their career, being toxic as a strategy is incentivized sadly

Ask Heat players their opinion and they'd tell you the opposite, that he's a great teammate. That's really the only thing that matters at the end of the day, don't you think? For every argument they get into there's double friendly banter and comeraderie that's just how he operates and they all agree on that principle to hold eachother accountable

It's still a bunch of players that will never know you exist all the same. Jimmy's career and millions of dollars wouldn't exist if he didnt have fans either. There's no shame in it but it's true. it's just weird for you to act like you're above it we're all doing the same thing

He didn't wrong you. He wronged the basketball team you have a parasocial relationship with. Let's be honest here defending a player or hating a player it's all the same silliness. The only reason you hate him so much is probably because you "gargle KAT and D'lo's balls", to quote your own words

Sign up for 3 months in May, then add a track in June(its the cost of your average monthly, which is why i recommend 3 months and adding a track), then either get one of the monthly records in July or swap for something you'd like. And don't forget to cancel your secondary track in July if you choose to do this. That's what I'd do

They have Kyrie, Goran Dragic, and Patty Mills. I think they should be much more worried at the lack of a defensive wing like Simmons than Curry not being 100%
