Sidenote: regardless of what your "policy" is, don't punish the customer for something that wasn't their fault. Original rep made a judgement call that 1) the item wasn't overly expensive and 2) I wasn't likely to steal it but rather then speaking to THEM I was attacked.
consider this your survey results. I have been a loyal "elite plus" reward zone member 20? years. While I do like the no-wait & hands on before buying, this is why Amazon is winning. Your days are numbered if your treat your customers like thieves. </3
After a while it looks like they got bored or they were watching in the back office on the cams. Eventually we finished our browsing and went up to the register and paid. No one said a word, but they did give me a big printout stapled to the bag asking me to take a survey lol.
Anyway at this point I still had the Fitbit, but they won't give us the pencil. $300 total of which they have plenty of stuff not in cases WAY more expensive! They decide to let us keep shopping but follow us around making sure we don't steal anything.
They said they would review the security tapes to see what happened, but they still refused to actually call over the radio or get the person who helped me originally. So weird!
I walked up towards the font as that is where the person was originally but I didn't see them. Instead I asked someone there too to call but no one would! So weird! I guess at this point they called in even more people as they thought I was trying to leave? Just not THE person!
He refused to do this, but instead, while it was hard to find anyone before, within 30 seconds I was surrounded by a handful of best buy reps. They kept asking who gave me the Fitbit and I said I have no idea what their name was and to call over the radio, but no one would.
The sales rep tried to get us to check out right away (we were not ready) and then started freaking out when he saw I had the Fitbit. He said I was not allowed to hold it and he needed it. I asked nicely for him to use his radio and call over the person who gave it to me earlier.
Great customer experience! But.. our next stop was in the dreaded Apple section. I needed to get an Apple pencil ($100) for an old ipad which too was in a case. I also had a bit of trouble finding someone but when I did and they got it out of the case this is when things changed.
After a minute or two of trying to find someone I was able to track someone down (manager I thought?) who borrowed keys to get it. As the device was only $200 & we had other things to buy there as well he handed it to me & just casually made me promise to pay for it.
I went in to purchase a replacement Fitbit as they are sadly less waterproof then they claim to be. I knew right where they were so walked right over but the Sense was in a case while most of the others were on a shelf. There was no one around though to get it out.
, over the years we've spent a lot of time together. I've bought TV's, computers, all my large home appliances and countless gadgets just to name a few. In 2021 alone I spent over $10k at your store. Today though I was made to feel like a thief.
I actually remember a similar thing happening when I lived in the DC area back around 2004. A station broadcasting there switched formats overnight from rock to... I don't even remember what anymore. Really sad :(
owned 95.3 Raleigh radio station switched formats from alt rock to 24/7 Christmas music :( Not cool! It was the last radio station I still listened to. Guess I have to solely stream music in the car now :(

From trusted source: Person on FB recovery effort said the outage was from a routine BGP update gone wrong. But the update blocked remote users from reverting changes, and people with physical access didn't have network/logical access. So blocked at both ends from reversing it.
Nothing we're seeing related to the Facebook services outage suggests it was an attack. Most likely explanation is that the company's Internet routes (BGP) were withdrawn by mistake during maintenance. #hugops
Facebook/instagram/whatsapp has been down for about 3 hours now world wide with no real update that I've seen so far. Twitter's gotta be loving this! That said, anyone remember back when Twitter was down for at least a portion of almost every day with Fail Whales?
Ever since #StarLink was announced I was eager to be a beta tester for this very reason, to have a backup during cable outages. Rather then an angry tweet at my cable company or a pleading tweet at
Real world findings:
- YouTube (even live streams) & Netflix work flawlessly
- Roblox though does NOT like the drops and kicks you out of the game. So no afking there :(
- Browsing the web, unless you catch a drop works great! No difference from cable!
- Crypto mining works too!
