Question about Zeigler's fate by glowing_unknown in betterCallSaul

[–]arghhharghhh [score hidden]  (0 children)

Agreed and as much as I want to say he would have learned from that experience had they let him back, I don't think he would have. He would mistakenly think his friendship with Mike would save him again. Or he would get too drunk and talk about it in Germany.

Like others have said, she is just a bit more innocent than nacho though that hasn't stopped Vince in the past.

Hedging your bets I see! I hope both make it but I'm not so sure. Saul in bb to me is a shell of the man he was.

What do you think the twins do in their free time? by LemonadeMan3 in betterCallSaul

[–]arghhharghhh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As others have said, I don't think they have much free time. It's likely to me that when they aren't killing people in the states for Hector they are killing people in Mexico for eladio, bolsa, Lalo, etc. They suffered some severe abuse growing up with Hector and likely the other salamamcas we haven't met so the idea that they are affectionate towards anyone but each other seems far fetched to me. That means no girlfriends and no friends. It also probably means few hobbies.

However, they do get paid well which probably is what pays for the fancy clothes, cars and weapons they use. They likely have a nice apartment or house with a housekeeper and I imagine they are creatures of routine. They probably eat, sleep and wake up at the same time everyday no matter where they are. They probably buy new suits, new shoes, and new cars with the same routine as well. I would expect them to visit the same women in a brothel evey week, drink the same beer every weekend, and worship at the same death shrine every week even if no one is on their hit list.

They probably excercise on the same schedule every day, if they watch a movie or TV show its the same thing over and over, and if they play cribbage with grandma it's the only game they ever play. They are arrested in their development as people and I doubt they view themselves separately which makes any new thing the do difficult.

Generating income for a retiree by arghhharghhh in personalfinance

That is a pretty intriguing way to go. I don't know if I can convince them to sell the house but that would be enough to rent or get something else for sure. The vanguard fund I assume they could do themselves? Avoid broker fees?

As far as I know that's what there income is. The investment account is 200k. The house is likely 400k.

I totally get that and we have talked about that with them. They are adamant about staying in though.

Free discovery childrens museum passes from the library by arghhharghhh in vegas

[–]arghhharghhh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it's really pretty easy. You go to the library and check one out like a book. The pass comes is a cd case. Then you take the case with you when u go and hand it to the front desk people when u go to pay. They check u in and pass it back. Easy peasy

Why is Charlie considered the "dumb one" when Mac can't understand what happens in movies OR game show rules?!? by danman8075 in IASIP

[–]arghhharghhh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of my few problems with the show which they kind of talk about in the podcast.

In the beginning, everybody was about on the same playng field. Sure Dennis has a college degree, and Dee has a little bit of college herself but at the beginning they all do stupid things and all trick each other.

My complaint is that the characters become parodies of their most extreme behaviors later. They play up Charlie's inability to read and write, habit of eating weird stuff, etc so much that he becomes the stupid one. Frank, who originally was the smartest character to me, becomes an old man with dementia. Mac is the worst example of this as he goes from easily tricking Dennis into having a threesome with 2 dudes to completely oblivious.

I suppose you could say this is part of their character evolution. In Charlie's case of course is the episode Flowers for Charlie where sure charlie is shown to be a doofus in the end with his talking animal experiment, but is actually smarter throughout the episode. Evidence of this to me is his knowledge of the placebo effect which he clearly understands at the beginning of the episode but not at the end because his friends drag him back down (where foundations go).

In any case, in the podcast they say that in the beginning the characters were believable in the sense that yes they were terrible people but they could have existed. You could have met these people in the real world but now they all live in their own sort of reality. Despite my complaint, I honestly don't see how they could have done things differently considering how long the show has been on. You always need to come up with new material and that becomes harder and harder the longer you run.

SEASON 6 HYPE!! by PKJ87104 in betterCallSaul

[–]arghhharghhh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Gonna have to get some Cinnabon. Some pictures of kevin costner. Maybe some dogs for the dog house.

I also got some old milwaukee. Looking for some old style. Gonna have to figure out how to make a rusty nail for the black and white scenes. That and maybe tequila if zafiro anejo pops up. And then I need to figure out a drinking game...

I'm very excited!

I like breaking bad a little better as well. The reason why for me is the same reason some people seem to like Better Call Saul better which is the difference in pacing. BCS is a little too slow for me at times and I'm just so anxious for more gene story that it's frustrating. I do have my problems with BB though so who knows? Maybe this last season will put BCS over the top. Can't fairly compare until then I suppose.

That makes sense. I was having trouble. I didn't know they could jump in the boat either.
