How do cosmetics affect your performance? (If at all) by PeacefulShark69 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]C0RV1S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens to me a lot tbh, and it seems common enough that I'm surprised more people don't talk much about it. Some skins literally just don't feel right to me for some reason. Most of Doom's legendaries I have trouble using because the way they change the gauntlet fucks with my brain somehow. I'm not sure if it's because some of them make it bigger or what, but it does happen to me. Talon Doomfist in particular feels like a power limiter. One of my friends only uses Cassidy's Magistrate skin for similar reasons.

I'm not part of this conversation, but despite still loving baiken's strive moveset as much as her xrd counterpart, damn i do wish they kept that dash. Doing a piano-ish motion to get one specific followup as soon as possible was so damn satisfying.

25+ Mercy Techs - Video and Text Guide by NiandraL in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]C0RV1S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even as someone who really doesn't play mercy at all, thank you so much for this. I don't expect that I'll do this tech much for myself, but the mobility tech is definitely useful to know despite that just so that I don't get caught off guard by a Mercy player utilizing them ingame. Video is super well put together as well, communicates the necessary info very effectively. 10/10 content, keep up the good work!

SOURCES: SOUJOURN, ORISA, AND DOOMFIST ABILITIES FROM THE OVERWATCH 2 ALPHA by ShukiNathan in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]C0RV1S 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have a timestamp, but Geoff Goodman stated in the livestream earlier today that the dedicated Doomfist players they have playing the internal alpha are apparently really happy with the changes.

Also yeah I'd imagine people who really like Orisa aren't very pleased, they pretty much replaced her with a new character that has the same name. Hopefully she's fun, at least.

Really hoping this isn’t true, to be honest.

The Orisa changes sound fun, but it’s a total 180 from Efi building her to be a protector. So now she’s a police officer robot whose main weapon is.... a spear, lances, and javelins…?

And with the Doomfist changes, combining slam and uppercut into one ability nerfs his ability to perform combos, which I 100% expected and am okay with, a tank who can fly towards squishies and potentially oneshot them would have been absurd. But my big gripe with how these sound on paper arises as a result of looking at it from a mobility standpoint, the fact that the game will automatically perform the slam without you having any control over when it happens sounds REALLY clunky, which is really sad to see considering the reason I play Doom now is because of his fluid movement… I just can't agree with them gutting his movement so that the best way to play him is still just to hold rightclick and fly into the enemy team hoping you hit someone... Regardless, I look forward to trying it. If the uppercut/slam hybrid ability feels like a Winston leap in any way and rocket punch still functions the same as it does now with all its tech intact, I might end up pretty happy with the rework, in all honesty. Especially considering the Doomfist players they've asked have apparently been really happy with it. I'm excited, but nervous.

Assuming it’s accurate, I’ll reserve my judgement for whenever the wider public gets access to the game, but right now I’d be lying if I said I wasn't a tad worried.

Hopefully they go into detail about the Orisa/Doomfist reworks we haven't seen yet, very curious to see what's going on with that. That said, holy shit they're actually communicating often now, am I dreaming???

Brigitte, Hanzo, Sigma and Zenyatta New Look by tery2003 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]C0RV1S 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I forget where they said this, but i believe they did confirm that the ow1 outfits are going to remain in the game as an option. No clue how they're going to be handled, though. I wouldn't be surprised if they were to make the OW1 looks rare or limited to those who don't already own the game.

I’m not a huge fan of sigma’s redesign tbh, i wish they leaned even harder into that experimental vibe he had in his original design. The sleek “finished” look doesn’t really do it for me considering Sigma is meant to be a man who’s utterly shattered mentally. With that context I just dont see why he’s being presented almost as though he’s a perfectly functional being. Maybe there’s a lore explanation?

whatever this post was: definitive edition by Shy_Shallows in Doom

[–]C0RV1S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a very good game, I feel like the overall quality of the writing is definitely a downgrade compared to the first game, but people REALLY exaggerate how bad it is, it’s not masterpiece level, but it still gripped me and I quite enjoyed it. In general it’s a really great game.

Jeff Grubb says expect Street Fighter 6 to be announced Monday on latest episode of Grubbsnax by hitalec in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]C0RV1S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wouldn't be surprised at all, iirc it's been known that they've been working on it for a while now, plus there have been a suspicious amount of cross over promo events involving the sf brand recently....

regardless, i pray that the eventual launch of 6 turns out better than 5's, hopefully that trainwreck was a learning experience for capcom.
