Hey Molly Wolly! You make some beautiful pieces man. I have a question. On these legs, are they a single piece that you purchased or are the laminated from several pieces of like 3/4 or 4/4?

Thanks so much!!! The legs are three pieces of 5/4 laminated together. When assembled I made sure the faces were all facing the same way in each corner so that the end grains weren’t different. If that makes sense?

I love the little cut out on the top for the legs. What is that called? Awesome design!

That’s what makes it a Parsons design table. I think hahaha

Great job my friend! Is the seat cushion a trapezoid shape or just rectangular? I can tell from the perspective if the front flairs out a bit. Thanks!

These ones aren’t, but the ones I did for another lounge chair are.

The lounge chair is beautiful. Who did the leather?

Op2 points · 23 days ago

Thanks so much! It’s actually a fabric cushion. The leather quotes I got from some local companies were insane. Like $1000-1400 for two cushions

If you haven't, get in touch with Jess at Copper Cherry. She does beautiful leather bags and I know she's done some custom work for other people. She might be able to give you a better price.

Funny enough she made a leather sling for another chair I made! I actually sent her a message and didn’t hear back.

Simple and elegant. Very nice! Did you paint or powder coat the frame?

Love the table. What is the width of the legs? I am trying to build a similar table out of Iroko for my patio, and I am struggling with deciding the width of the legs

The top was 3.5”x3.5” square. But I glued just a small block onto the top to allow for that. Most of the leg was 2 pieces of 1.25” laminated together for a total of 2.5”. Under the curve it tapers from about 2.75” down to 1.75”

Beautiful table, and that’s my favourite kind of wood to work with. I’m getting tired of building all Walnut tables

Thank you very much! Yeah walnut and white oak are by far the most popular woods that I work with

Any tips for tapping into that market? I see a lot of poorly made table tops and bar tops in my area. But I don't know how they're choosing their woodworkers or at what point in their building / opening process they hire someone.

I wish I had some tips for you. Two of them were honestly just through a google search for woodworkers in my city and it worked out and this one I just posted about is owned by a guy I bartended with in university who reached out. Hadn’t talked to him in years.

2 points · 1 month ago

That's my problem. I didn't have a job where you'd meet nearly as many people as a bartender does. :) Great work on the bakery furniture!

Thanks so much! Yeah and before doing this woodworking thing full time I was a teacher and that has led to a bunch of sales as well which was great
