In Norway: Exercise Brilliant Jump 22, an annual deployment exercise of the NATO Response Force (NRF), commenced in southern Norway on Monday, 28 February. Approximately 2,500 troops from 12 NATO nations are taking part. Naval, air and land forces will demonstrate their ability to deploy rapidly and integrate with forces of the Host Nation. With only a few days' notice, high-readiness elements of the NRF are able to deploy wherever needed to deter hostile acts and, if necessary, defend NATO Allies.

In Latvia: NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group Latvia's integrated capstone exercise, CRYSTAL ARROW, concluded on 11 March. The contributing nations of eFP BG Latvia provided an impressive display of firepower, skill, and resolve during the visitors day. The aim of the exercise was to improve military interoperability during tactical operations, including the demonstration of winter capability. The exercise has developed and enhanced interoperability and readiness across offensive and defensive operations.

In Estonia: The Danish contingent of the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Estonia Battlegroup will soon be taking over from their French counterparts and will be based in Tapa. The 1st Mechanised Infantry Company from the 2nd Armoured Infantry Battalion, Jutland Dragoon Regiment, otherwise known as "The Vikings", are a specialised armoured unit within the Danish Army. The regiment have previously deployed on operations to Afghanistan, Kosovo and Iraq and have been involved in providing support to border security and coronavirus testing centres at home in Denmark.
