Same for ‘Marxist’ IR. Marxists indeed agree with realists that the modern state system is intrinsically anarchic, but for different reasons: not a semi-naturalised, Hobbesian urge for conflict, but because modern politics happens within the parameters of capital accumulation.

The "Kyiv Independent" only exists because of an "emergency grant" in late 2021 from the European Endowment for Democracy, which is a mechanism established by the EU to fund what it calls "pro-democracy movements." But yeah, totally "Independent"

Indian industries will be rendered thoroughly uncompetitive vs the Chinese if they don’t acquire Russian energy assets. If China accesses oil, gas and metals at less than half of what India must pay in the fee market, then finished goods will be priced below India’s marginal cost

Zelensky blaming the West is a broadly positive signal, if we're looking for routes to a peace deal: it allows him to make painful decisions (he's already signalling the status of Crimea & Donbass is negotiable), and blame them on faithless external patrons

Interesting. Zelenskyy seemingly agrees to discuss the possible recognition of Crimea & the Donbas + Lugansk republics He seems to be coming to his senses. Now he has to accept neutrality mandated in his constitution.

Day 12: The Ukrainian Army is still being squeezed hardest in Donbass, DPR/LPR and Russian forces continue to collapse the front in daily. Front is beginning to merge with the Kharkov front as Russia continues to cut all possible routes between the two armies.

"Look at U.S. support for the Afghan mujahideen in the 1980s." Sure, and then look at how in the 1990s, the "anti-Soviet warrior put his army on the road to peace", and they all lived happily after, forever and ever. Great success!

Just because we’re not willing to risk World War III doesn’t mean that we can’t effectively oppose Russian aggression. Look at U.S. support for the Afghan mujahideen in the 1980s. wapo.st/3HNLlkr

I, for one, am quite shocked that the people who ushered us into the 2008 crisis & believed that inflation was “transitory” now believe “China does not seek to destroy the so called rules based order” I work in this field & I can tell you these people are literally гетагded

That’s ₹107/liter for frens in India, which is higher than almost every city except Mumbai And this is even after America is one of the world’s largest oil producers The impact of this on India will be huge: it’s better we buy discounted Russian oil when we have the offer

The Ukrainian strategy now is to maximize civilian deaths & make insane demands like NATO impose a no fly zone so they can get their WW3 wet dream to “own the russkies”. Truly a deranged clown leading the Hohols down to a self imposed Ноlodoмоr

Sadly, the West must take this positively. If China gets cheap Russian energy, it’ll control global inflation. If China plays by sanctions and procures at free market rates, the cost of producing goods would double. This would send the West into a tailspin and mass civil unrest.
