This anti-mask song about farting in your trousers, featuring Piers Corbyn, has to been heard to be believed

“Wearing a mask is like trying to keep a fart in your trousers.”

At least that’s what Piers Corbyn’s political party, Let London Live, are telling the public in a bizarre new song which was released - complete with a music video - on Sunday evening.

The 90-second clip features Corbyn, who is known for his anti-vaxx views, and six others singing those exact lyrics while on a District Line train in London.

The video ends with Corbyn ripping a sticker - which warns people to wear a mask on public transport - from the train’s window and yelling “New world order, we’ve never followed any of your mandictats [sic] and we never will. Resist! Defy! Do not comply!”

The song, which is called Unmasked TFL: The Musical and was written by somebody called ‘Chris A’, is unlikely to be Christmas Number One but certainly caused a stir on social media - though perhaps for the wrong reasons.

The song has been released after the government confirmed that wearing a mask on public transport and in public places like shops will become compulsory from Tuesday in order to stop the spread of the new Covid strain, Omicron.

The new variant, which was first detected in South Africa, has since spread to the UK. Although the symptoms are said to be “mild”, it was announced today that six cases have been discovered in Scotland and the government is now ramping up restrictions which will include those with suspected Omicron having to isolate for 10 days, regardless of vaccine status. Meanwhile, anyone arriving in the country will have to take a PCR test within two days and isolate until they get a negative result.
