Remember to also check out the full "Omicron Report" that contains information on geographic, age and vaccination status. It's released daily at 16.00: 4/4

As always, and all Danish hospitals are working non-stop to provide as close to real-time data as possible. The counts in the chart is the raw "Omicron qPCR counts" released at 14.00 daily: 3/4

Disclaimer: It is very difficult to compare raw numbers directly without accounting for confounding effects. Proper modeling is needed to estimate the growth rate and impact on local epidemics. 2/4

update from Denmark. Omicron cases on the 12th of December adjusted up to 20.5% (+2%). Omicron is now having a large impact on the total number of cases in Denmark. The government has announced a press-meeting Friday, and PM says new measures are needed. 1/4

    Replying to

Bit misleading to say "has second highest number of cases" Should be "has measured" They just test for Omicron. Others don't.

AAU-prof. gæstede i går .

A few thoughts on London hospital data. TL;DR: so far, there’s no obvious sign of a different severity profile for omicron cases (vs. our recent experience of delta), but it’s early days yet, and we need to keep watching this data very closely. 🧵

Please don't shame & punish South Africa for excellent scientists finding & keeping early track of omicron. Please don't shame & punish Denmark for massive testing & sequencing to provide best-possible info on SARS-CoV-2 / omicron.
