    There are people I know who are still struggling to link PAN with Aadhaar as the name in both PAN & Aadhaar doesn’t match, just becoz of the placing of initials. For ex: PAN: S Ramkumar Aadhaar: Ram Kumar S Now with Aadhar-Voter id linking, if it doesn’t match, voting rights ?

    MPs being suspended so that the government could rush through with laws that will have huge repercussions for citizens and democracy. Power doesn’t last forever. Governments change. Remember those who brought in PMLA never thought it would, one day, be used against them too.

    By the virtue of 12 MPs suspended and reduced opposition numbers in RS today it will get cleared in the upper house too. Huge repercussions for the future of free and independent democracy where voter was considered the king. Killing democracy and privacy every single day.

    In 26 minutes an election law was passed in the LS to connect Aadhar with Voter id. - Aadhar data has address,mobile numbers&financial details - Can help map political preferences through social media connected to phone numbers - disenfranchise those in opposition from voter roll

    The Election Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2021 was discussed and passed in in 26 minutes. In , the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Bill, 2021 was discussed and passed in ~2 hours.

    I personally think it is most curious as to why a mysterious stranger from UP should decide to go to Amritsar and do what he do…for no obvious reason. But then again, mysterious things happen during Punjab elections. Last time it was a bomb blast…still unsolved.
