Ben Hudson (born 24 February 1979) is a retired Australian rules footballer who is currently serving as the Brisbane Lions's defensive skills, ruck and forwards coach. He played 55 games for Adelaide, 88 games for the Western Bulldogs, 18 games for the Brisbane Lions and 7 games for Collingwood. He was also a ruck coach for Collingwood after being selected as a mature age rookie player in the 2012 Rookie Draft.
Hudson was born in Victoria, but moved to Queensland at a young age where he grew up at Palm Beach, a suburb of the Gold Coast.
He played basketball until 2000, when he began driving to Brisbane to study Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland, living at Union College, where he played for the University of Queensland Australian Football Club at 21 years of age as a ruckman. His coach later recommended that he play for Mount Gravatt Football Club where he played under coach Danny Craven.
At Mount Gravatt, he won a Best and Fairest in 2001, before taking part in the club's 2002 premiership side. That year he represented Queensland against Western Australia.
Benjamin Hudson McIldowie (born 26 June 1979), better known by his stage name Mr Hudson, is an English musician, songwriter and producer from Birmingham, England. First rising to prominence in 2006 with Mr Hudson and the Library, Hudson would later find solo success on Straight No Chaser, in 2009, spawning the hit single "Supernova" featuring Kanye West.
Hudson would later sign as a solo artist with West’s GOOD Music record label and begin work on his solo follow up album. He subsequently featured heavily as a composer on West’s 808s & Heartbreak and Jay-Z’s Top 10 single "Young Forever", from the album The Blueprint 3.
Establishing his own studio Hudson began writing and producing for other acts including Paloma Faith,Alex Clare,Pixie Lott,Josh Kumra, Wretch 32, Eliza Doolittle and Sway.
Currently completing work on his new album with a working title of Autumn In August slated for release in 2015. Since 2014 Hudson has released some tracks online: "Fred Astaire", "Move" and "Step into the Shadows" featuring Idris Elba.
