With the second wave of Covid engulfing the country in April/May, the running went for a long break. I started back running a week back. And slowly trying to get back into the groove.
Last 6 months have been demanding and hard emotionally, mentally, physically. Hoping and praying for a calmer second half of the year.
And now to challenge myself in between all this, I have setup a target of doing an FM on August 15th to mark the 75th Independence Day. Barely 6 weeks left, the challenge is looking very steep but gettable. I have no timing goals this time and will be very happy to just finish it. Anything less than 4hours will be an icing on the cake.
Now how to prep for this. Roughly the skeleton of the plan:
Week 0(last week) – base building did 38km mileage and 30km of cycling.
Week 1(Currently ongoing till July 3rd) – 45-50km(10+10+10+15-21km – total 4 running activities) All at easy pace.
Week 2(July 4th to 10th) – 55km(10+15+10+21) + 40km cycling + 3hours of strength and core.
Week 3(July 11th – 17th) – 65km(10+15+10+10+25) + 45km cycling + 3hours of strength and core.
Week 4( July 18th -24th) – 75km(10+15+10+12+28) + 45km cycling + 3hours of strength and core.
Week 5( July 25th – 31st) – 75km(10+15+10+12+30) + 50km cycling + 3hours of strength and core.
Week 6( Aug 1st – 7th) – 60km(10+10+10+12+21) + 50km cycling + 3hours of strength and core.
Week 7( Aug 8th – 14th) – 25km(8+8+7) + 30km cycling + 1hours of strength and core.
August 15th – Race Day
Each week activities are mostly around building the endurance. 1 run in each week(possibly on Thursday) will be doing tempo runs.
