A short explanation of how to play the board game - THE LONDON BOARD GAME.
Here’s a short explanation of The London Board Game – a race game around the underground of London. The game from ideal, is for 2 to 6 players, ages 7 and up. The average game time is about 45 minutes with the objective of the game to be the first player to visit all of their stops first.
Here’s what’s in the box……
The board
6 metro trains – one for each player
12 small discs – these are for station closures
1 dice cup and 1 die
40 sounvenir cards
56 hazzard cards
To set up, first place the board in the center of the playing area.
Each player should collect their color metro train and also 2 of the small discs.
Next shuffle the hazard cards. Place them face down so that all players can reach.
Next shuffle the souvenir cards. Deal to each player 6 of the cards. The players may look at their cards, but they shouldn’t show them to other players. Take the rest of the souvenir cards and place them aside, they will not be used during the game.
Players are trying to reach each of the stations that are mentioned on the souvenir cards. So they will first need to determine where will their starting position be. The five starting points are
Liverpool Street, King’s Cross, Paddington, Victoria, and Waterloo.
Players may choose any of those stations to start. There can be multiple players at the same station. Place your train on whichever station you choose.
Next each player, can take their two purple discs, and place them on whatever station they choose. This closes that station and no one can pass through here while the disc remains. So you can use them to block opponents.
Next each player rolls the dice to see who goes first. Play continues clockwise around the board.
On a players turn, you roll the dice. This will indicate the amount stations you can move for that turn so long as it is on the same color line. So say for example I am on St. Pauls which is on the red Central line. And I am trying to get to aldgate which on both the Metropolitan and Circle lines. It’s only 3 stops away. I roll a four. Since they are not on the same line, I cannot get there all in one turn as I will need to change lines at Liverpool street. So I can move two spaces to Liverpool street and stop there. Announce you are changing lines and then you draw a hazard card. More about that in a moment.
But let’s say I am at Saint Pauls and I am trying to get to mile end. I roll a four. I can move four stations along the Central Line which takes me all the way there.
When you arrive at one of your stations, You end your turn, announce your station and flip over your corresponding card.
Any time you need to change lines, You will need to draw a hazard card. When planning routes, try and change lines as little as possible as crazy things can happen to you when you draw a hazard. When you draw the card, read it aloud to the group and then follow any instructions given on the card. There can be any number of different consequences on a hazard card. From losing turns, and being transported to a completely different part of the board.
If a station is closed you may not pass through it. You have to find an alternative route. However there are some ways to reopen a station.
If you have rolled a six and your train can pass though a closed station, then you can open that station to pass. Place the disc on a new station that you determine needs to be closed.
If you draw an OPEN CLOSE STATION card from the hazard cards. This means you can pick any station to be reopened. Move the disc to a new station that you determine needs to be closed.
If you are sent to a station that is closed by a hazard card, you get to automatically reopen that station. Move the disc to a new station that you determine needs to be closed.
Once you have visited your six stations and your cards are all face up, ITS NOT OVER YET. You must make your way back to your original starting point before any other player is able to do so as well. The first player to visit all of their stations and return back to their starting point is the winner!

London (board game)
London is a board game by Martin Wallace. Released in 2010, the game requires players to rebuild London after the Great Fire of London up until the start of the 20th century. London is a card-driven game with a board in the form of a map of London. It won a Meeples Choice award in 2010 and was nominated for an International Gamers Award in 2011.
To rebuild London players purchase boroughs on the board and play cards from their deck. The cards represent buildings of economic, political, scientific, and cultural significance throughout the history of the city. This includes general constructions such as bridges, coffee houses, and hospitals, along with famous landmarks such as Woolwich Arsenal, and Tower Bridge. Players must choose which buildings they wish to construct based on the benefits that each card will give them. The management of poverty is central to the game and players can lose a significant number of victory points if they have accrued more poverty points than their opponents.

Banks (singer)
Jillian Rose Banks (born June 16, 1988), known simply as Banks (often stylized as BANKS), is an American singer and songwriter from Orange County, California. She releases music under Harvest Records, Good Years Recordings and IAMSOUND Records imprints of the major label Universal Music Group.

Early life
Jillian Rose Banks was born in Orange County, California. Banks started writing songs at the age of fifteen. She taught herself piano when she received a keyboard from a friend to help her through her parents' divorce. She says she "felt very alone and helpless. I didn't know how to express what I was feeling or who to talk to."
Career
2013–present: Breakthrough and Goddess
Banks used the audio distribution website SoundCloud to put out her music before securing a record deal. Her friend Lily Collins used her contacts to pass along her music to people in the industry; specifically Katy Perry's DJ Yung Skeeter, and she began working with the label Good Years Recordings. Her first official single, called "Before I Ever Met You" was released in February 2013. The song which had been on a private SoundCloud page ended up being played by BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe. Banks released her first EP Fall Over by IAMSOUND Records and Good Years Recordings.Billboard called her a "magnetic writer with songs to obsess over." Banks released her second EP called London by Harvest Records and Good Years Recordings in 2013 to positive reviews from music critics, receiving a 78 from Metacritic. Her song "Waiting Game" from the EP was featured in the 2013 Victoria's Secret holiday commercial.

London is a Canadian city located in Southwestern Ontario along the Quebec City–Windsor Corridor. The city has a population of 366,151 according to the 2011 Canadian census. London is at the confluence of the non-navigable Thames River, approximately halfway between Toronto, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan. The game from ideal, is for 2 to 6 players, ages 7 and up. The average game time is about 45 minutes with the objective of the game to be the first player to visit all of their stops first. Here’s what’s in the box…… The board 6 metro trains – one for each player 12 small discs – these are for station closures 1 dice cup and 1 die 40 sounvenir cards 56 hazzard cards To set up, first place the board in the center of the playing area. A short explanation of how to play the board game - THE LONDON BOARD GAME.
Here’s a short explanation of The London Board Game – a race game around the underground of London. The game from ideal, is for 2 to 6 players, ages 7 and up. The average game time is about 45 minutes with the objective of the game to be the first player to visit all of their stops first.
Here’s what’s in the box……
The board
6 metro trains – one for each player
12 small discs – these are for station closures
1 dice cup and 1 die
40 sounvenir cards
56 hazzard cards
To set up, first place the board in the center of the playing area.
Each player should collect their color metro train and also 2 of the small discs.
Next shuffle the hazard cards. Place them face down so that all players can reach.
Next shuffle the souvenir cards. Deal to each player 6 of the cards. The players may look at their cards, but they shouldn’t show them to other players. Take the rest of the souvenir cards and place them aside, they will not be used during the game.
Players are trying to reach each of the stations that are mentioned on the souvenir cards. So they will first need to determine where will their starting position be. The five starting points are
Liverpool Street, King’s Cross, Paddington, Victoria, and Waterloo.
Players may choose any of those stations to start. There can be multiple players at the same station. Place your train on whichever station you choose.
Next each player, can take their two purple discs, and place them on whatever station they choose. This closes that station and no one can pass through here while the disc remains. So you can use them to block opponents.
Next each player rolls the dice to see who goes first. Play continues clockwise around the board.
On a players turn, you roll the dice. This will indicate the amount stations you can move for that turn so long as it is on the same color line. So say for example I am on St. Pauls which is on the red Central line. And I am trying to get to aldgate which on both the Metropolitan and Circle lines. It’s only 3 stops away. I roll a four. Since they are not on the same line, I cannot get there all in one turn as I will need to change lines at Liverpool street. So I can move two spaces to Liverpool street and stop there. Announce you are changing lines and then you draw a hazard card. More about that in a moment.
But let’s say I am at Saint Pauls and I am trying to get to mile end. I roll a four. I can move four stations along the Central Line which takes me all the way there.
When you arrive at one of your stations, You end your turn, announce your station and flip over your corresponding card.
Any time you need to change lines, You will need to draw a hazard card. When planning routes, try and change lines as little as possible as crazy things can happen to you when you draw a hazard. When you draw the card, read it aloud to the group and then follow any instructions given on the card. There can be any number of different consequences on a hazard card. From losing turns, and being transported to a completely different part of the board.
If a station is closed you may not pass through it. You have to find an alternative route. However there are some ways to reopen a station.
If you have rolled a six and your train can pass though a closed station, then you can open that station to pass. Place the disc on a new station that you determine needs to be closed.
If you draw an OPEN CLOSE STATION card from the hazard cards. This means you can pick any station to be reopened. Move the disc to a new station that you determine needs to be closed.
If you are sent to a station that is closed by a hazard card, you get to automatically reopen that station. Move the disc to a new station that you determine needs to be closed.
Once you have visited your six stations and your cards are all face up, ITS NOT OVER YET. You must make your way back to your original starting point before any other player is able to do so as well. The first player to visit all of their stations and return back to their starting point is the winner!

Tiny Desk Concerts often require creative and logistical transformations, from electric bands going acoustic to big bands squashing into a tiny space to many players gathering around a single microphone. But the setting is particularly challenging for vocalists, especially those accustomed to heavy production, effects or — in the case of recent guest T-Pain — generous dollops of Auto-Tune.
T-Pain's effects-less set grabbed more attention at the time, given the extent to which digital alterations are expected of him, but this performance by Banks is, in its own way, an even greater high-wire act. Banks' terrific full-length debut, Goddess, is constructed out of layer upon layer of electronics, beats, samples and other means of submerging the singer's voice in swirling accoutrements. With assistance from keyboardist/guitarist John Anderson and percussionist Derek Taylor, she's not all alone behind the Tiny Desk, but her expressive voice is fully exposed here.
Kicking off her three-song set with "Beggin For Thread," Banks sets the scene in vulnerable, breathily seething fashion before opening the throttle in her choruses. On record, she's placed at the center of lavish productions, each suitable for throbbing remixes and banks of swirling lights. My story so far........
I was raised in the West and became an adult in the East.
I set out on my own at 18 to see the world, bouncing around Asia and North America. Working my way through school, I never lived anywhere too long. I found my calling as a teacher and ended up staying abroad for many years. While I've had a chance to explore Europe, places I consider home are Washington DC, Seoul, Beijing, Memphis, and Columbus. After 20 years of exploring, I'm ready to share my adventures and wanderlust. The road ahead is never a straight line, but a path that zigs and zags, leading you to amazing places, people, and experiences you could never imagine. Be flexible and open minded, embracing the uncertainty of life and letting the current wisk you away........

A short explanation of how to play the board game - THE LONDON BOARD GAME.
Here’s a short explanation of The London Board Game – a race game around the underground of London. The game from ideal, is for 2 to 6 players, ages 7 and up. The average game time is about 45 minutes with the objective of the game to be the first player to visit all of their stops first.
Here’s what’s in the box……
The board
6 metro trains – one for each player
12 small discs – these are for station closures
1 dice cup and 1 die
40 sounvenir cards
56 hazzard cards
To set up, first place the board in the center of the playing area.
Each player should collect their color metro train and also 2 of the small discs.
Next shuffle the hazard cards. Place them face down so that all players can reach.
Next shuffle the souvenir cards. Deal to each player 6 of the cards. The players may look at their cards, but they shouldn’t show them to other players. Take the rest of the souvenir cards and place them aside, they will not be used during the game.
Players are trying to reach each of the stations that are mentioned on the souvenir cards. So they will first need to determine where will their starting position be. The five starting points are
Liverpool Street, King’s Cross, Paddington, Victoria, and Waterloo.
Players may choose any of those stations to start. There can be multiple players at the same station. Place your train on whichever station you choose.
Next each player, can take their two purple discs, and place them on whatever station they choose. This closes that station and no one can pass through here while the disc remains. So you can use them to block opponents.
Next each player rolls the dice to see who goes first. Play continues clockwise around the board.
On a players turn, you roll the dice. This will indicate the amount stations you can move for that turn so long as it is on the same color line. So say for example I am on St. Pauls which is on the red Central line. And I am trying to get to aldgate which on both the Metropolitan and Circle lines. It’s only 3 stops away. I roll a four. Since they are not on the same line, I cannot get there all in one turn as I will need to change lines at Liverpool street. So I can move two spaces to Liverpool street and stop there. Announce you are changing lines and then you draw a hazard card. More about that in a moment.
But let’s say I am at Saint Pauls and I am trying to get to mile end. I roll a four. I can move four stations along the Central Line which takes me all the way there.
When you arrive at one of your stations, You end your turn, announce your station and flip over your corresponding card.
Any time you need to change lines, You will need to draw a hazard card. When planning routes, try and change lines as little as possible as crazy things can happen to you when you draw a hazard. When you draw the card, read it aloud to the group and then follow any instructions given on the card. There can be any number of different consequences on a hazard card. From losing turns, and being transported to a completely different part of the board.
If a station is closed you may not pass through it. You have to find an alternative route. However there are some ways to reopen a station.
If you have rolled a six and your train can pass though a closed station, then you can open that station to pass. Place the disc on a new station that you determine needs to be closed.
If you draw an OPEN CLOSE STATION card from the hazard cards. This means you can pick any station to be reopened. Move the disc to a new station that you determine needs to be closed.
If you are sent to a station that is closed by a hazard card, you get to automatically reopen that station. Move the disc to a new station that you determine needs to be closed.
Once you have visited your six stations and your cards are all face up, ITS NOT OVER YET. You must make your way back to your original starting point before any other player is able to do so as well. The first player to visit all of their stations and return back to their starting point is the winner!

London is a board game by Martin Wallace. Released in 2010, the game requires players to rebuild London after the Great Fire of London up until the start of the 20th century. London is a card-driven game with a board in the form of a map of London. It won a Meeples Choice award in 2010 and was nominated for an International Gamers Award in 2011.
To rebuild London players purchase boroughs on the board and play cards from their deck. The cards represent buildings of economic, political, scientific, and cultural significance throughout the history of the city. This includes general constructions such as bridges, coffee houses, and hospitals, along with famous landmarks such as Woolwich Arsenal, and Tower Bridge. Players must choose which buildings they wish to construct based on the benefits that each card will give them. The management of poverty is central to the game and players can lose a significant number of victory points if they have accrued more poverty points than their opponents.

Tiny Desk Concerts often require creative and logistical transformations, from electric bands going acoustic to big bands squashing into a tiny space to many players gathering around a single microphone. But the setting is particularly challenging for vocalists, especially those accustomed to heavy production, effects or — in the case of recent guest T-Pain — generous dollops of Auto-Tune.
T-Pain's effects-less set grabbed more attention at the time, given the extent to which digital alterations are expected of him, but this performance by Banks is, in its own way, an even greater high-wire act. Banks' terrific full-length debut, Goddess, is constructed out of layer upon layer of electronics, beats, samples and other means of submerging the singer's voice in swirling accoutrements. With assistance from keyboardist/guitarist John Anderson and percussionist Derek Taylor, she's not all alone behind the Tiny Desk, but her expressive voice is fully exposed here.
Kicking off her three-song set with "Beggin For Thread," Banks sets the scene in vulnerable, breathily seething fashion before opening the throttle in her choruses. On record, she's placed at the center of lavish productions, each suitable for throbbing remixes and banks of swirling lights. At the Tiny Desk, though, she serves notice that she's a powerful singer in her own right — and that heavy production needn't be the product of necessity. --STEPHEN THOMPSON
