The Beatles - Abbey Road Outtakes Medley
EMI Studios, Abbey Road, 14 April - 1 August 1969
Medley of really short outtakes recorded during the Abbey Road sessions. Under the working title The Ballad Of John And Yoko (They're Gonna Crucify Me), the song was recorded at Abbey Road's Studio Three in a session beginning at 2.30pm and ending at 9pm. The Beatles began recording Oh! Darling properly at Abbey Road on 20 April. They recorded 26 takes of the rhythm track, with McCartney on bass and guide vocals, Lennon on piano, Starr on drums and Harrison on guitar. They also overdubbed a Hammond organ part, which was later wiped. On 26 April they recorded 32 takes of Octopus's Garden, with Starr on drums and guide vocals, McCartney on bass, and Harrison and Lennon on guitars. The Beatles began recording You Never Give Me Your Money on 6 ...

In an interview for Rolling Stone magazine on 5 December 1980, Lennon said that "Woman" was a "grown-up version" of his song "Girl". On 5 June 1981, Geffen re-released "Woman" as a single as part of their "Back to Back Hits" series, with the B-side "(Just Like) Starting Over".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woman_(John_Lennon_song)
"Every Man Has a Woman Who Loves Him" is a song by Yoko Ono from her Double Fantasy album with John Lennon. The version released as a single, and on the compilation album Every Man Has a Woman, is credited to Lennon, and has stripped away Ono's lead vocal, while bringing Lennon's backing vocal up in the mix (this version was also released as a bonus track on the CD reissue of Milk and Honey). The B-side featured "It's Alright" by Ono and Sean Lennon. The last Lennon song to be released as a single, it failed to chart in either the United Kingdom or the United States.
In 2007, the song was re-released as a UK-only 12" single on the Mynx record label where it was coupled with Elvis Costello's cover version of Yoko Ono's song "Walking on Thin Ice".

Following the birth of his son Sean in 1975, Lennon had put his career on hold to help raise him.[3] After five years of little musical activity aside from recording the occasional demo in his apartment in New York, Lennon felt ready to resume work.
In the middle of 1980, Lennon made a sailing trip through treacherous waters from Newport, Rhode Island, to Bermuda. During the journey, his yacht encountered a prolonged severe storm, and most of the crew succumbed to profound fatigue and seasickness. Lennon, free of seasickness, was eventually forced to take the yacht's wheel alone for many hours. He found this terrifying but invigorating. It had the effect of both renewing his confidence and making him contemplate the fragility of life. As a result, he began to write new songs and reworked earlier demos. He commented later, 'I was so centered after the experience at sea that I was tuned in to the cosmos – and all these songs came!'[4] Ono also wrote many songs, inspired with new confidence after Lennon had stated that he believed that contemporary popular music such as the B-52's "Rock Lobster" bore similarities to Ono's earlier work.[5]
The couple decided to release their work on the same album, the first time they had done so since 1972's politically charged Some Time in New York City. In stark contrast to that album, Double Fantasy (subtitled A Heart Play) was a collection of songs wherein husband and wife would conduct a musical dialogue. The album took its title from a species of freesia, seen in the Bermuda Botanical Gardens, whose name Lennon regarded as a perfect description of his marriage to Ono.[6]

"San Francisco Bay Blues" is an American folk song and is generally considered to be the most famous composition by Jesse Fuller. Fuller first recorded the song in 1954 (released 1955) for a small label called World Song. The song was brought into wider popularity in the early 1960s by club performances by Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Bob Dylan, and Jim Kweskin. Recorded covers have been performed by many artists including The Blues Band, Paul Jones, Jim Croce, The Weavers, Sammy Walker, The Brothers Four, Paul Clayton, Richie Havens, Eric Clapton, The Flatlanders, Paul McCartney, Hot Tuna, Janis Joplin, John Lennon, Peter, Paul, and Mary, Mungo Jerry, Glenn Yarbrough, George Ellias, Phoebe Snow, The Wave Pictures, The Halifax III and Eva Cassidy. A "one-man band" rendition of the song featuring a kazoo solo was recorded by Fuller himself in a 1962 concert. This has been included in a Smithsonian Folkways compilation, Friends of Old Time Music.[1]
Topic Records issued the original Jesse Fuller version on a 10-inch vinyl LP called Working on the Railroad in 1959 and included it as track six of the first CD of the Topic Records 70 year anniversary boxed set Three Score and Ten.
The song was one of many California related songs played throughout "Sunshine Plaza" in the original Disney California Adventure.

Lennon's recording of "Jealous Guy" was released on the Imagine album in 1971. It was not released as a single until November 1985, five years after Lennon's murder, and four-and-a-half years after Roxy Music had taken their cover of the song to number one. Accompanied on the B-side by "Going Down on Love", a track from Walls and Bridges, the single reached number 65 in the UK charts.[2]
In the United States, the single reached number 80 on the Billboard Hot 100 in November 1988, in conjunction with the release of the film Imagine: John Lennon.[3] "Jealous Guy" also peaked at number 22 on the Hot Adult Contemporary chart.[4]
The album track from Imagine was recorded by [5][6]

Nicky Hopkins – piano
John Barham – harmonium
Alan White – vibraphone

The album track from Imagine was recorded by [5][6]
John Lennon – vocals, acoustic guitar, whistling
Nicky Hopkins – piano
John Barham – harmonium
Alan White – vibraphone
Klaus Voormann – bass
Jim Keltner – drums
Mike Pinder – tambourine

Milk and Honey was the duo's projected follow-up to Double Fantasy, though Lennon's death caused a temporary shelving of the project. It took Ono three years to be able to resume work to complete it. Ono's material largely comprises new recordings, which she undertook during the album's preparation in 1983, which give her songs a more commercial and contemporary edge. Conversely, Lennon's material, being rough takes and rehearsal recordings, has a more casual feeling.
"Nobody Told Me", a song Lennon intended for Ringo Starr's 1981 album Stop and Smell the Roses, was released as a single and became a worldwide Top 10 hit. Other singles from the album were "I'm Stepping Out" and "Borrowed Time". The songs "Let Me Count the Ways" and "Grow Old with Me" were written by Lennon and Ono to each other using inspiration from poems by Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Robert Browning. They are presented in their demo form.
The album title came from Ono, who explained that it referred to their journey to the US, "the land of milk and honey". "But also, in the Scripture, the land of milk and honey is where you go after you die, as a promised land", Ono went on to say. "So it's very strange that I thought of that title. Almost scary – like someone up there told me to call the next album Milk and Honey."[1] The cover is an alternative take from the same photo session that produced the front cover of Double Fantasy, though this time it appears in color.
After a falling out with David Geffen, whose Geffen Records had initially released Double Fantasy, Ono moved future projects to Polydor Records, which initially released Milk and Honey. EMI, home of Lennon's entire recorded output—including that with the Beatles—acquired this and all Lennon releases in the late 1990s. Predictably, the reaction to Milk and Honey was less fanatical than the one that greeted Double Fantasy, but it was still well received, peaking at No. 3 in the UK and No. 11 in the US, where it went gold. Jack Douglas, who had co-produced Double Fantasy with Lennon and Ono, also had input into the initial sessions for Milk and Honey, though Ono declined to credit him after their professional relationship soured following Lennon's death.

The Beatles began recording You Never Give Me Your Money on 6 May 1969. They laid down 36 takes of the song, which at this point ended abruptly immediately before the "One two three four five six seven" refrain. Her Majesty was recorded in three takes on 2 July, with McCartney singing live to his acoustic guitar accompaniment before the rest of the group began work on Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight. He recorded three takes, the first two of which were incomplete. Recording for Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight began while John Lennon was in hospital recovering from a road accident in Scotland. George Harrison played bass and Ringo Starr was on drums. Here Comes The Sun was recorded in 13 takes on 7 July 1969. Harrison played acoustic guitar and sang a guide vocal, McCartney played bass, and Starr was on drums. Harrison spent an hour re-recording his acoustic guitar part at the end of the session. Recording for Maxwell's Silver Hammer began on 9 July 1969. McCartney, Harrison and Starr recorded 21 takes of the basic track (although there were no takes 6-10), and spent over two hours overdubbing guitars. Recording for Something began properly on 16 April 1969. The Beatles recorded 13 takes, with George Harrison on guitar, Paul McCartney on bass, Ringo Starr on drums and George Martin on piano. Although John Lennon was in the studio on the day, he didn't play on the recording, which also featured no vocals. The Beatles began recording Come Together on 21 July 1969, recording eight takes in Abbey Road's studio three. John Lennon sang without his guitar, and clapped while singing the line "Shoot me". The Beatles began recording Sun King/Mean Mr Mustard as one on 24 July 1969. They taped 35 takes of the basic track: Lennon played rhythm guitar and sang a guide vocal, McCartney played bass, Harrison was on lead guitar and Starr on drums. The Beatles began recording Polythene Pam/She Came In Through The Bathroom Window on 25 July 1969. They taped 39 takes of the basic track, which featured Lennon on acoustic rhythm guitar, McCartney on bass, Harrison on lead guitar and Starr and drums. Lennon and McCartney also sang guide vocals for the songs where needed. On Friday 1 August Lennon, McCartney and Martin taped 23 takes of Because, with Lennon on electric guitar and McCartney on bass. Ringo Starr added a basic hi-hat rhythm, but this was for guide purposes only and wasn't recorded.
