What’s up guys! Welcome back to my channel, for today’s video, I will be sharing to you all my most memorable experience in going through the immigration checkpoint in the Philippines and how I was able to passed through to get to my desired destination, which is the Singapore. But before that…. Back in 2013, I’ve experienced the worst nightmare in my life. At 25, I was eager at that time to try my luck overseas. Maybe, due to the influence of people I’ve known who also tried their luck in “The Land of Smiles”, I had this urged to follow their footsteps as well. During those times, I really didn’t how to securely passed through the immigration checking. As a result, fate didn’t go my way, I was offloaded from my would-be flight in going to Thailand. It was a mixed of emotions pouring into my system, thinking the finances I’ve already spent among others. I accepted the outcome, and said to myself that one day, I will be able to crossed that immigration gate and travel outside of the country. True enough, 5 years later, I got the chance to travel outside the country, in Singapore. Together with my colleagues, we poured out all our effort to plan everything for this dream to finally become a reality. At the Mactan Cebu International Airport, everyone was excited. But me personally has this reservation due to what happened to me in the past. As they say, the show must go on, so I made my way through the immigration officer for document checking and a sort of interview. True enough, the officer saw my name in the systems that I was once offloaded from a flight going to Thailand. I was a bit nervous at that time, baka hindi na naman ako makalusot dito. But the kind officer just assured me that they just have to clear my name in the system to avoid unnecessary delays in the future since I already have complete documents during this time. Among us 5, I was the last one to exit at the immigration gate. It was a sigh of relief on my part. Now, the real waiting game begins, flight delays truly are inevitable. However, that delays played a big favor on our part, since our companion who’s from Davao, did not arrive yet at MCIA. So to make the long story short, we we’re able to fly out from the Philippines and landed in the “Lion City”. Singapore Changi Airport, commonly known as Changi Airport, is a major civilian airport that serves Singapore, and is one of the largest transportation hubs in Asia. As one of the world's busiest airports by international passenger and cargo traffic, it is currently rated the World's Best Airport by Skytrax, the first airport in the world to do so for eight consecutive years. It has also been rated as one of the world's cleanest airports and highly rated international transit airports. From terminal 1, we boarded a shuttle bus to terminal 2 to catch a train heading to golden miles complex where the bus terminal going to Malaysia is situated. In the next slides, please bear with the footages. I just like to share this to you, since we had a lot of fun in finding the exact location of the bus terminal heading to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We got lost, we ran hard to avoid the rain and a lot more just to be able to catch up our planned time of bus departure from SG to KL. Thank you for watching guys. What’s up guys! Welcome back to my channel, in today’s video we will explore the fun-filled Island of Sentosa. Sentosa Island, known mononymously as Sentosa, is an island located off the southern coast of Singapore's main island. The island is separated from the main island of Singapore by a channel of water, the Keppel Harbour, and is adjacent to Pulau Brani, a smaller island wedged between Sentosa and the main island. Visitors can access the island via the Sentosa Boardwalk which is parallel to the causeway. Formerly used as a British military base and afterwards as a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp, the island was renamed Sentosa, a popular tourist destination. It is now home to a popular resort that receives more than twenty million visitors per year. Attractions include a 2 km (1.2 mi) long sheltered beach, Madame Tussauds Singapore, an extensive Cable Car network, Fort Siloso, two golf courses, 14 hotels and the Resorts World Sentosa, which features the Universal Studios Singapore theme park and one of Singapore's two casinos, the other being in Marina Bay Sands. Etymology The name Sentosa translates as "peace and tranquility" in Malay, which was in turn derived from the Sanskrit term Santosha, meaning "contentment, satisfaction". Sentosa was formerly known as Pulau Blakang Mati which in Malay means the "Island of Death Behind". Geography The island has an area of close to 5 km2. It lies just half a kilometer away from the southern coast of the main island of Singapore. It is Singapore's fourth-largest island. Transport Aside from the causeway, Sentosa can be reached from the Singapore mainland via a Cable Car, which originates from Mount Faber and passes through Harbour Front en route to its final destination at Imbiah Lookout. Public bus services are also available to connect Sentosa Island to the mainland. The island is also accessible by the Sentosa Express monorail, which replaced the old Sentosa Monorail that operated from 1982 to 2005. The Sentosa Express has three stations on Sentosa and one on mainland Singapore. The northern terminus of the line, which opened on 15 January 2007, is located at the VivoCity shopping mall on the mainland and the southernmost terminus, Beach Station, is located on Sentosa Island. In Vivocity, the mainland MRT is in turn served by the HarbourFront of the North East Line and the Circle Line. Sustainability Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) has developed a sustainability plan to safeguard the environment and to conserve Sentosa's heritage assets. In fact, many parts of Sentosa still retain her original tranquil and lush environment - driven by the corporation's land-use policy of maintaining 60% of the island as green and open spaces (natural area reduced to about 25% by 2014). Efforts are made to raise awareness among both visitors and staff of the island regarding environmental issues and sustainable tourism. This is done via regular campaigns and educational talks.
