The Hague is the second most-visited city in the Netherlands after Amsterdam because it's a city with many attractions and a large pedestrian zone where you can wander about in old historic lanes.
Although Amsterdam is the nation's capital, almost all of the government is headquartered here with the parliament, and the prime minister and perhaps most famous as home of the International Court of Justice, a branch of the United Nations.
This video is a practical guide for you showing exactly where are the main sites and where you should be walking to catch all of the highlights in your visit.
You might think of the Hague as perhaps a modern city, as a government city and therefore maybe not so interesting to visit, but you'll find that it's fascinating. The Hague has got a rich collection of historic buildings, some of them dating back as much as to the 13th century, amazingly, and they have been restored and renovated and kept up to date. The government is located in this complex of very old buildings in the heart of town. And yet there's also a modern side to the city, a modern shopping mall, ultramodern skyscrapers and that wonderful pedestrian zone. So altogether you'll find The Hague has got a lovely variety of kinds of neighborhoods and attractions, historic sites, shopping areas, museums, and just friendly people everywhere, and everywhere, bicycles.
The two closest main cities are Delft and Leiden, both of which make a good home base for visiting The Hague on a day trip, only 15 minutes away by train.

The Hague is a city and municipality on the western coast of the Netherlands on the North Sea. It is also the seat of government of the Netherlands and hosts the International Court of Justice, one of the most important courts in the world. With a population of over half a million, it is the third-largest city in the Netherlands, after Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The Hague is the seat of the Cabinet, the States General, the Supreme Court, and the Council of State, but the city is not the constitutional capital of the Netherlands.

Den Haag (The Hague) is the third largest city in the Netherlands, boasting the presence of historic buildings such as the Binnenhof, which hosts the seat of the Dutch parliament, the Noordeinde palace, where the King works, and the Peace Palace headquarters of the United Nations International Court of Justice.
The city will win you over with its style its architecture, and with its important art museums, such as the Mauritshuis which houses works by Veermer and Rembrandt.
After immersing yourself in the culture, you can take one of the many trams and go to relax in Scheveningen, a white sand beach overlooking the North Sea full of clubs and attractions that will leave you speechless like the Pier, with the great panoramic wheel from which you can see the whole city !!

Exploring the beauty of THE HAGUE | My first days in The Netherlands! - Last month Adi came to the Netherlands and since then he has been exploring Den Haag (or The Hague). We live in this city together, which is also home to the Dutch government. Apart from the government buildings, The Hague has some really cool places to visit. In Autumn the places look even more magical! Especially the parks (many parks) are beautiful around this time of the year!

The Hague Netherlands, the government capital of the Netherlands. The official capital is Amsterdam however anything government related runs out of the Hague. Since the city is less than a 1 hour metro ride from Rotterdam I decided to go out and check out the the Dutch city.
Upon arrival in the Hague I noticed immediately just how beautiful the city is and different than most other Dutch cities. It had a lovely city center with beautiful canals and a very diverse set of residents. Beautiufl clssic architecture litter the city. The Hague also has it's own beaches but we didn't get to go that far into the city.

The Hague
The Hague (/ðə ˈheɪɡ/; Dutch: Den Haag pronounced [dɛnˈɦaːx] or 's-Gravenhage pronounced [ˈsxraːvə(n)ˌɦaːɣə]) is the seat of government in the Netherlands, and the capital city of the province of South Holland. With a population of 515,880 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2015) and more than one million inhabitants including the suburbs, it is the third-largest city of the Netherlands, after Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The Rotterdam The Hague Metropolitan Area, with a population of approximately 2.7 million, is the 12th-largest in the European Union and the most populous in the country. Located in the west of the Netherlands, The Hague is in the centre of the Haaglanden conurbation and lies at the southwest corner of the larger Randstad conurbation.
The Hague is the seat of the Dutch government and parliament, the Supreme Court, and the Council of State, but the city is not the capital of the Netherlands which constitutionally is Amsterdam. King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands plans to live at Huis ten Bosch and works at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague, together with Queen Máxima. Most foreign embassies in the Netherlands and 150 international organisations are located in the city, including the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court, which makes The Hague one of the major cities hosting the United Nations, along with New York, Geneva, Vienna, Rome and Addis Ababa.

Unexpected Adventure in The Hague Netherlands 🇳🇱
The Hague Netherlands, the government capital of the Netherlands. The official capital is Amsterdam however anything government related runs out of the Hague. Since the city is less than a 1 hour metro ride from Rotterdam I decided to go out and check out the the Dutch city. Upon arrival in the Hague I noticed immediately just how beautiful the city is and different than most other Dutch cities. It had a lovely city center with beautiful canals and a very diverse set of residents. Beautiufl clssic architecture litter the city. The Hague is the second most-visited city in the Netherlands after Amsterdam because it's a city with many attractions and a large pedestrian zone where you can wander about in old historic lanes.
Although Amsterdam is the nation's capital, almost all of the government is headquartered here with the parliament, and the prime minister and perhaps most famous as home of the International Court of Justice, a branch of the United Nations.
This video is a practical guide for you showing exactly where are the main sites and where you should be walking to catch all of the highlights in your visit.
You might think of the Hague as perhaps a modern city, as a government city and therefore maybe not so interesting to visit, but you'll find that it's fascinating. The Hague has got a rich collection of historic buildings, some of them dating back as much as to the 13th century, amazingly, and they have been restored and renovated and kept up to date. The government is located in this complex of very old buildings in the heart of town. And yet there's also a modern side to the city, a modern shopping mall, ultramodern skyscrapers and that wonderful pedestrian zone. So altogether you'll find The Hague has got a lovely variety of kinds of neighborhoods and attractions, historic sites, shopping areas, museums, and just friendly people everywhere, and everywhere, bicycles.
The two closest main cities are Delft and Leiden, both of which make a good home base for visiting The Hague on a day trip, only 15 minutes away by train.

Exploring the beauty of THE HAGUE | My first days in The Netherlands! - Last month Adi came to the Netherlands and since then he has been exploring Den Haag (or The Hague). We live in this city together, which is also home to the Dutch government. Apart from the government buildings, The Hague has some really cool places to visit. In Autumn the places look even more magical! Especially the parks (many parks) are beautiful around this time of the year!

- Mills: Driemanspolder molens
- Beach: Scheveningen
- The city center of The Hague
Oh, and don't forget to try an oliebol!

The Hague Netherlands, the government capital of the Netherlands. The official capital is Amsterdam however anything government related runs out of the Hague. Since the city is less than a 1 hour metro ride from Rotterdam I decided to go out and check out the the Dutch city.
Upon arrival in the Hague I noticed immediately just how beautiful the city is and different than most other Dutch cities. It had a lovely city center with beautiful canals and a very diverse set of residents. Beautiufl clssic architecture litter the city. The Hague also has it's own beaches but we didn't get to go that far into the city.

The Hague is the second most-visited city in the Netherlands after Amsterdam because it's a city with many attractions and a large pedestrian zone where you can wander about in old historic lanes.
Although Amsterdam is the nation's capital, almost all of the government is headquartered here with the parliament, and the prime minister and perhaps most famous as home of the International Court of Justice, a branch of the United Nations.
This video is a practical guide for you showing exactly where are the main sites and where you should be walking to catch all of the highlights in your visit.
You might think of the Hague as perhaps a modern city, as a government city and therefore maybe not so interesting to visit, but you'll find that it's fascinating. The Hague has got a rich collection of historic buildings, some of them dating back as much as to the 13th century, amazingly, and they have been restored and renovated and kept up to date. The government is located in this complex of very old buildings in the heart of town. And yet there's also a modern side to the city, a modern shopping mall, ultramodern skyscrapers and that wonderful pedestrian zone. So altogether you'll find The Hague has got a lovely variety of kinds of neighborhoods and attractions, historic sites, shopping areas, museums, and just friendly people everywhere, and everywhere, bicycles.
The two closest main cities are Delft and Leiden, both of which make a good home base for visiting The Hague on a day trip, only 15 minutes away by train.

Here are my top 10 things to do in The Hague. This charming and vibrant city has so much to offer.
My personal favourite was seeing Vermeer’s ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’.

2. See Dutch artist MC Escher's masterpieces of mathematical of optical illusion at Esche in Het Paleis.
3. Visit Scheveningen, the only Dutch seaside town.

The Hague is a city and municipality on the western coast of the Netherlands on the North Sea. It is also the seat of government of the Netherlands and hosts the International Court of Justice, one of the most important courts in the world. With a population of over half a million, it is the third-largest city in the Netherlands, after Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The Hague is the seat of the Cabinet, the States General, the Supreme Court, and the Council of State, but the city is not the constitutional capital of the Netherlands.

Exploring the beauty of THE HAGUE | My first days in The Netherlands! - Last month Adi came to the Netherlands and since then he has been exploring Den Haag (or The Hague). We live in this city together, which is also home to the Dutch government. Apart from the government buildings, The Hague has some really cool places to visit. In Autumn the places look even more magical! Especially the parks (many parks) are beautiful around this time of the year!

The Hague Netherlands, the government capital of the Netherlands. The official capital is Amsterdam however anything government related runs out of the Hague. Since the city is less than a 1 hour metro ride from Rotterdam I decided to go out and check out the the Dutch city.
Upon arrival in the Hague I noticed immediately just how beautiful the city is and different than most other Dutch cities. It had a lovely city center with beautiful canals and a very diverse set of residents. Beautiufl clssic architecture litter the city. The Hague also has it's own beaches but we didn't get to go that far into the city.
