Additional info and clarifications about the video:
The video starts with the founder of Wessex King Cerdic. I choose to include Wessex as they later become the majority kingdom that manages to form or claim to be England like, for example, during the time of Alfred the Great. There is a major lack of photos/paintings depicting the early kings and queens of Wessex. Therefore I choose to include different artworks of early Saxon kings/queens by the English historian John Speed. Because I thought that would be better than no images at all.
Regnal numbers used to distinguish among persons with the same name who held the same office are used in the video after the conquest of England by William the Conquerer.
There is a disputed king in this video named Louis I of England. I choose to include him because he technically ruled England for over a year and was proclaimed by some barons to be king of England although he was never crowned. He is disputed because he signed the Treaty of Lambeth in 1217 where he agreed he had never been the legitimate king of England. Despite this, he did actually rule for a significant period of time, and as Queen Jane/Lady Jane Grey only ruled for nine days, I thought it was fair to include King Louis.
King George V is seen in the video to belong to House Windsor. However, I want to note that he was earlier associated with the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1865-1917) and later House of Windsor (1917-1936).

In this HUGE VIDEO, we look at the King's and Queens of England. We begin at William the Conqueror and work our way towards Queen Elizabeth II in the modern day. We use Tiermaker and the Tier List format to do this. At the top of the list we have the 'Crowning Glory' section, and at the bottom we have the Dungeon. We rank the monarchs in terms of their historical importance, reputation and reign. So join us as we rate the infamous Henry VIII, the notorious Richard III, the long-reigning Queen Victoria, the Virgin Queen Elizabeth I, and even England's current monarch, Elizabeth II.

The worst monarchs in British history. The united kingdom has witnessed some pretty terrible and ruthless monarchs and rulers over the years. To be fair a kingdom with a history as long and turbulent as Britain's is bound to have had its fair share of incompetent kings and queens. Whilst some of these people have been pure evil, others have just been useless due to mental illness or general incompetence. From the tyrant Tudor King Henry Viii who took six wives, to the truly evil King John who lost most of his territories in France, we're counting down 5 of UK’s worst and most useless kings and queens / monarchs.

List of English monarchs
Traditionally, the Kingdom of England is usually considered to begin with Alfred the Great, King of Wessex, one of the petty kingdoms to rule the southeastern portion of Great Britain. While Alfred was not the first king to lay claim to rule all of the English, his rule represents the first unbroken line of Kings to rule the whole of England, the House of Wessex. The last monarch of England was Queen Anne, who became Queen of Great Britain when England merged with Scotland to form a union in 1707. For monarchs after Queen Anne, see List of British monarchs.
Arguments are made for a few different kings deemed to control enough of the ancient kingdoms of the Anglo-Saxons to be deemed the first King of England. For example, Offa, king of Mercia, and Egbert, king of Wessex, are sometimes described as kings of England by popular writers, but not by all historians. In the late eighth century Offa achieved a dominance over southern England that did not survive his death in 796. In 829 Egbert conquered Mercia, but he soon lost control of it. By the late ninth century Wessex was the dominant Anglo-Saxon kingdom. Its king, Alfred the Great, was overlord of western Mercia and used the title King of the Angles and Saxons, but he never ruled eastern and northern England, which was then the Danelaw. His son Edward the Elder conquered the eastern Danelaw, but Edward's son Æthelstan became the first king to rule the whole of England when he conquered Northumbria in 927, and he is regarded by some modern historians as the first king of England.

Additional info and clarifications about the video:
The video starts with the founder of Wessex King Cerdic. I choose to include Wessex as they later become the majority kingdom that manages to form or claim to be England like, for example, during the time of Alfred the Great. There is a major lack of photos/paintings depicting the early kings and queens of Wessex. Therefore I choose to include different artworks of early Saxon kings/queens by the English historian John Speed. Because I thought that would be better than no images at all.
Regnal numbers used to distinguish among persons with the same name who held the same office are used in the video after the conquest of England by William the Conquerer.
There is a disputed king in this video named Louis I of England. I choose to include him because he technically ruled England for over a year and was proclaimed by some barons to be king of England although he was never crowned. He is disputed because he signed the Treaty of Lambeth in 1217 where he agreed he had never been the legitimate king of England. Despite this, he did actually rule for a significant period of time, and as Queen Jane/Lady Jane Grey only ruled for nine days, I thought it was fair to include King Louis.
King George V is seen in the video to belong to House Windsor. However, I want to note that he was earlier associated with the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1865-1917) and later House of Windsor (1917-1936).

The worst monarchs in British history. The united kingdom has witnessed some pretty terrible and ruthless monarchs and rulers over the years. To be fair a kingdom with a history as long and turbulent as Britain's is bound to have had its fair share of incompetent kings and queens. Whilst some of these people have been pure evil, others have just been useless due to mental illness or general incompetence. Additional info and clarifications about the video:
The video starts with the founder of Wessex King Cerdic. I choose to include Wessex as they later become the majority kingdom that manages to form or claim to be England like, for example, during the time of Alfred the Great. There is a major lack of photos/paintings depicting the early kings and queens of Wessex. Therefore I choose to include different artworks of early Saxon kings/queens by the English historian John Speed. Because I thought that would be better than no images at all.
Regnal numbers used to distinguish among persons with the same name who held the same office are used in the video after the conquest of England by William the Conquerer.
There is a disputed king in this video named Louis I of England. I choose to include him because he technically ruled England for over a year and was proclaimed by some barons to be king of England although he was never crowned. He is disputed because he signed the Treaty of Lambeth in 1217 where he agreed he had never been the legitimate king of England. Despite this, he did actually rule for a significant period of time, and as Queen Jane/Lady Jane Grey only ruled for nine days, I thought it was fair to include King Louis.
King George V is seen in the video to belong to House Windsor. However, I want to note that he was earlier associated with the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1865-1917) and later House of Windsor (1917-1936).

In this HUGE VIDEO, we look at the King's and Queens of England. We begin at William the Conqueror and work our way towards Queen Elizabeth II in the modern day. We use Tiermaker and the Tier List format to do this. At the top of the list we have the 'Crowning Glory' section, and at the bottom we have the Dungeon. We rank the monarchs in terms of their historical importance, reputation and reign. So join us as we rate the infamous Henry VIII, the notorious Richard III, the long-reigning Queen Victoria, the Virgin Queen Elizabeth I, and even England's current monarch, Elizabeth II.

The worst monarchs in British history. The united kingdom has witnessed some pretty terrible and ruthless monarchs and rulers over the years. To be fair a kingdom with a history as long and turbulent as Britain's is bound to have had its fair share of incompetent kings and queens. Whilst some of these people have been pure evil, others have just been useless due to mental illness or general incompetence. From the tyrant Tudor King Henry Viii who took six wives, to the truly evil King John who lost most of his territories in France, we're counting down 5 of UK’s worst and most useless kings and queens / monarchs.

List of English monarchs
Traditionally, the Kingdom of England is usually considered to begin with Alfred the Great, King of Wessex, one of the petty kingdoms to rule the southeastern portion of Great Britain. While Alfred was not the first king to lay claim to rule all of the English, his rule represents the first unbroken line of Kings to rule the whole of England, the House of Wessex. The last monarch of England was Queen Anne, who became Queen of Great Britain when England merged with Scotland to form a union in 1707. For monarchs after Queen Anne, see List of British monarchs.
Arguments are made for a few different kings deemed to control enough of the ancient kingdoms of the Anglo-Saxons to be deemed the first King of England. For example, Offa, king of Mercia, and Egbert, king of Wessex, are sometimes described as kings of England by popular writers, but not by all historians. In the late eighth century Offa achieved a dominance over southern England that did not survive his death in 796. In 829 Egbert conquered Mercia, but he soon lost control of it. By the late ninth century Wessex was the dominant Anglo-Saxon kingdom. Its king, Alfred the Great, was overlord of western Mercia and used the title King of the Angles and Saxons, but he never ruled eastern and northern England, which was then the Danelaw. His son Edward the Elder conquered the eastern Danelaw, but Edward's son Æthelstan became the first king to rule the whole of England when he conquered Northumbria in 927, and he is regarded by some modern historians as the first king of England.
