Through his music, acclaimed Italian composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi has added his voice to those of eight million people from across the world demanding protection for the Arctic.
Einaudi performed one of his own compositions on a floating platform in the middle of the Ocean, against the backdrop of the Wahlenbergbreen glacier (in Svalbard, Norway).

Norway also lays claim to a section of Antarctica known as Queen Maud Land. Until 1814, the Kingdom included the Faroe Islands (since 1035), Greenland (1261), and Iceland (1262). Norway has a total area of 385,252 square kilometres (148,747 sq mi) and a population of 5,109,059 people (2014). The country shares a long eastern border with Sweden (1,619 km or 1,006 mi long). Norway is bordered by Finland and Russia to the north-east, and the Skagerrak Strait to the south, with Denmark on the other side. Norway Pavilion at Epcot
The Norway Pavilion is a Norway-themed pavilion that is part of the World Showcase, within Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Its location is between the Mexican and Chinese Pavilions.
Layout
The 58,000-square-foot (5,400 m2) Norway Pavilion is designed to look like a Norwegian village. The village includes a detailed Stave church, and the exterior of its main table-service restaurant, Restaurant Akershus, resembles its namesake in Oslo. The exhibit showcases 4 styles of Norwegian architecture: Setesdal-style, Bergen-style, Oslo-style and Ålesund-style.
Much of the pavilion is taken up by interconnected shops. These shops are decorated with large wooden trolls and sell assorted Norwegian goods, including clothing, candy, and statuettes of Norse gods and trolls. The courtyard of the pavilion contains the entrance to Maelstrom, a boat ride into Norway's past and present. Kringla Bakeri og Kafé is a bakery, featuring assorted Norwegian pastries, such as cream horns and open-faced salmon sandwiches. The courtyard contains the entrance to Restaurant Akershus, featuring a hot and cold buffet and "Princess Storybook Dining."

Maelstrom Front Row POV Epcot - Norway Pavilion - Walt Disney World
Take a POV (point of view) ride on the newly refurbished Maelstrom boat ride in the Norway pavilion at Epcot. Located at the Walt Disney World resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. You'll see some added lighting (especially at the end of the ride) as well as all the animatronics working, the wave effects after the drop in the oil rig scene are working great too. After the video I walk through the gift shop where you'll notice the Geri 'The Power of Norway' perfume has been removed and replaced by another brand and is now located in the room before the wooden troll. Norway Pavilion - Monica's Epcot World Showcase Tour
The final stop on Monica's Epcot Showcase Tour is the Norway Pavilion. The Norway Pavilion is of course home to Elsa, Anna, and all things Frozen! The fan favorite Frozen Ever After dark ride is in the rear of the Norway Pavilion. Frozen Ever After exits to The Fjording, a large store where you can shop for almost anything Frozen related and a ton of Disney Norway merchandise as well. If you're looking for costumes, apparel & plush toys, you can shop at The Wandering Reindeer The Pavilion is home to two restaurants: Akershus Royal Banquet Hall and Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe. The Norway Pavilion Store | The Fjording | The World Showcase At Epcot | 2021 | Disney World The Norway Pavilion is the most recent nation to be added to World Showcase. It soft-opened on May 6, 1988, but the grand opening did not occur until a month later, when Harald V of Norway (then Crown Prince) dedicated the pavilion in a ceremony that was broadcast live to Norway. The original idea was to create a Nordic Pavilion that would combine elements from various countries into one exhibit. Three countries were consulted, but it finally ended up with investors from Norway raising the US$30 million required to create an exclusive national pavilion. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is a Disney Princess Character meal but does NOT feature Elsa and Anna. However, you CAN meet Anna and Elsa at Royal Sommerhus located in the Norway Pavilion.

The Norway Pavilion Store | The Fjording | The World Showcase At Epcot | 2021 | Disney World
The Norway Pavilion is the most recent nation to be added to World Showcase. It soft-opened on May 6, 1988, but the grand opening did not occur until a month later, when Harald V of Norway (then Crown Prince) dedicated the pavilion in a ceremony that was broadcast live to Norway. The original idea was to create a Nordic Pavilion that would combine elements from various countries into one exhibit. Three countries were consulted, but it finally ended up with investors from Norway raising the US$30 million required to create an exclusive national pavilion. Disney contributed the other one-third of the construction cost. In 1992, the investors sold their stake to Disney. Since nearly as many people visit Epcot as live in Norway, the government felt it still was a good promotional tool for their tourism industry. The federal government continued to contribute US$200,000 annually for five years to help fund the exhibit. Renewed in 1997 for a further 5 years, the government stopped payments in 2002, against the recommendations from their American embassy.
In September 2014, Disney officials announced that the Maelstrom attraction would be closed and renovated into a new attraction based upon the company's hit animated film, Frozen. Frozen Ever After, which opened in 2016, features the same ride vehicles and basic course of the original attraction, but with scenes inspired by the film and the Frozen Fever animated short. Due to the popularity and immediate fan base Frozen drew, plans to add the "Frozen Ever After" attraction to the Norway pavilion were set with a very short construction time, this is a major reason why the attraction will so closely resemble the "Maelstrom" attraction previously in its place. The addition of "Frozen Ever After" is intended to bring more attention to Epcot, as well as the Scandinavian culture represented throughout the Norway pavilion.

Norway (i/ˈnɔːrweɪ/ NAWR-way; Norwegian: Norge (Bokmål) or Noreg (Nynorsk)), officially the Kingdom of Norway, is a sovereign and unitary monarchy whose territory comprises the western portion of the Scandinavian Peninsula plus the island Jan Mayen and the archipelago of Svalbard. The Antarctic Peter I Island and the sub-Antarctic Bouvet Island are dependent territories and thus not considered part of the Kingdom. Norway also lays claim to a section of Antarctica known as Queen Maud Land. Until 1814, the Kingdom included the Faroe Islands (since 1035), Greenland (1261), and Iceland (1262). It also included Shetland and Orkney until 1468.
Norway has a total area of 385,252 square kilometres (148,747 sq mi) and a population of 5,109,059 people (2014). The country shares a long eastern border with Sweden (1,619 km or 1,006 mi long). Norway is bordered by Finland and Russia to the north-east, and the Skagerrak Strait to the south, with Denmark on the other side. Norway has an extensive coastline, facing the North Atlantic Ocean and the Barents Sea.

Join us on this trip to Walt Disney World's EPCOT for a new series, where we take a closer look at each of the pavilions in World Showcase! In today's vid we take an in depth look at the Norway Pavilion. We take a look at the food locations, gift shops, and bars within this area of the World Showcase. We also ride Frozen Ever After and check out the Anna and Elsa character meet and greet! Lastly we look at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall's menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is also a princess dinner where you can meet various princesses during your meal. We'll definitely be booking a reservation soon! This Norway pavilion has so much to do! Maelstrom is a boat ride located in the Norway pavilion of Epcot's World Showcase at the Walt Disney World resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida (just outside of Orlando). The ride originally opened on July 5th, 1988.

Take a POV (point of view) ride on the newly refurbished Maelstrom boat ride in the Norway pavilion at Epcot. Located at the Walt Disney World resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
You'll see some added lighting (especially at the end of the ride) as well as all the animatronics working, the wave effects after the drop in the oil rig scene are working great too.
After the video I walk through the gift shop where you'll notice the Geri 'The Power of Norway' perfume has been removed and replaced by another brand and is now located in the room before the wooden troll.
I previously filmed this ride with night vision and this time I recorded it without night vision.

The final stop on Monica's Epcot Showcase Tour is the Norway Pavilion. The Norway Pavilion is of course home to Elsa, Anna, and all things Frozen! The fan favorite Frozen Ever After dark ride is in the rear of the Norway Pavilion. Frozen Ever After exits to The Fjording, a large store where you can shop for almost anything Frozen related and a ton of Disney Norway merchandise as well. If you're looking for costumes, apparel & plush toys, you can shop at The Wandering Reindeer
The Pavilion is home to two restaurants: Akershus Royal Banquet Hall and Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe. Kringla Hakeri Og Kafe is quick service Q with Norwegian pastries, sandwiches, beer, and Viking coffee. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is a Disney Princess Character meal but does NOT feature Elsa and Anna. However, you CAN meet Anna and Elsa at Royal Sommerhus located in the Norway Pavilion.
The feature of the Norway Pavilion is a model of a Stave Church which is the home of the “Gods of the Vikings” Exhibit.

The Norway Pavilion is the most recent nation to be added to World Showcase. It soft-opened on May 6, 1988, but the grand opening did not occur until a month later, when Harald V of Norway (then Crown Prince) dedicated the pavilion in a ceremony that was broadcast live to Norway. The original idea was to create a Nordic Pavilion that would combine elements from various countries into one exhibit. Three countries were consulted, but it finally ended up with investors from Norway raising the US$30 million required to create an exclusive national pavilion. Disney contributed the other one-third of the construction cost. In 1992, the investors sold their stake to Disney. Since nearly as many people visit Epcot as live in Norway, the government felt it still was a good promotional tool for their tourism industry. The federal government continued to contribute US$200,000 annually for five years to help fund the exhibit. Renewed in 1997 for a further 5 years, the government stopped payments in 2002, against the recommendations from their American embassy.
In September 2014, Disney officials announced that the Maelstrom attraction would be closed and renovated into a new attraction based upon the company's hit animated film, Frozen. Frozen Ever After, which opened in 2016, features the same ride vehicles and basic course of the original attraction, but with scenes inspired by the film and the Frozen Fever animated short. Due to the popularity and immediate fan base Frozen drew, plans to add the "Frozen Ever After" attraction to the Norway pavilion were set with a very short construction time, this is a major reason why the attraction will so closely resemble the "Maelstrom" attraction previously in its place. The addition of "Frozen Ever After" is intended to bring more attention to Epcot, as well as the Scandinavian culture represented throughout the Norway pavilion.
