Ken Scott started at the top—and stayed there for over a decade. Having got himself into EMI’s studio training program, his first session as an engineer was on The Beatles’ Hard Day’s Night album.
In his 2013 Red Bull Music Academy lecture, Scott discusses his time at Abbey Road, working with legends like Bowie and Lou Reed, living next door to Frank Zappa, and more.

But it’s as co-producer on Bowie’s first golden streak that he’s perhaps best known, stepping into the seat for the classic Hunky Dory, and remaining there through Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, and Pin Ups, records that made Bowie a megastar but were also as musically diverse as The Beatles in their prime.
In 1974, he produced Crime Of The Century, the breakthrough album for Supertramp, developing a reputation for marrying complex orchestrations to huge, successful hits. Less commercial, but hugely successful in its own right, was his work in jazz-rock, where he toughened up the sounds of pioneers like Mahavishnu Orchestra, Billy Cobham, and Stanley Clarke.

Legendary Trident Studios and Abbey Road engineer and producer Kent Scott joins Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy in the latest instalment of our 'My Classic Album' series to discuss David Bowie's 'Hunky Dory' album that Ken co-produced with Bowie.
Ken will relay what it was like working with David Bowie on their first co-production which was later followed by ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars’, ‘Pin Ups’ and ‘Aladdin Sane’ (and they also worked together on Lou Reed’s classic album ‘Transformer’). Ken’s first hand accounts are a wonder to behold and a must see for any Bowie fan.
‘My Classic Album’ is a series of free-to-view artist interview streams created with support from the Arts Council England Cultural Recovery Fund. Future interviews will feature artists such as Black Midi, Emma-Jean Thackray, The Kooks, Mark Leckie and many more.

Ken Scott
Ken Scott (born 20 April 1947) is a British record producer/engineer widely known for being one of the five main engineers for the Beatles, as well as engineering Elton John, Pink Floyd, Procol Harum, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Duran Duran, the Jeff Beck Group and many more. As a producer, Scott is noted for his work with David Bowie (on Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, Aladdin Sane and Pinups), Supertramp (Crime of the Century and Crisis? What Crisis?), Devo, Kansas, the Tubes, Gamma 1 RonnieMontrose and Level 42, among others.
Scott was also very influential in the evolution of Jazz Rock, pioneering a harder rock sound, through his work with Mahavishnu Orchestra (Birds of Fire, Visions of the Emerald Beyond and The Lost Trident Tapes), Stanley Clarke (Stanley Clarke, Journey to Love and School Days), Billy Cobham (Spectrum, Crosswinds, Total Eclipse and Shabazz) and Jeff Beck (There and Back).
Originally from South London, Scott resided in Los Angeles from 1976 to 2013 then relocated to Nashville.

Ken Scott (filmmaker)
Ken Scott (born 1970) is a Canadian screenwriter, actor, director, and comedian. He is best known as a member of the comedy group Les Bizarroïdes with Martin Petit, Stéphane E. Roy and Guy Lévesque, and as screenwriter of the films Seducing Doctor Lewis, Guide de la petite vengeance, and Starbuck, as well as television series Le Plateau.
Life and career
Scott gained a degree in cinematography at the Université du Québec à Montréal in 1991. His first widely seen work was a series of commercials for cheese made between 1995 and 1998. In 2000, he played the theatrical role of Monsieur Pearson in the play Propagande, written by Stéphane E. Roy. In 2002, he wrote episodes for the television series Le Plateau, in which he also played the role of François Chamberland.
In 2008, Scott produced his first feature film, Sticky Fingers, which he also wrote.
It has been announced that he will direct the Stephen King adaption of Doctor Sleep The Shining sequel into a movie.

Ken Scott (actor)
Ken Scott (born Kenneth E. Schibath October 13, 1928 in died December 2, 1986) was an American actor best known for his work in films in the 1950s and on television after that.
Biography
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Kenneth was the son of interior decorator Ernst Schibath and attended school at Erasmus Hall High School and Colby Academy. He worked as a truck driver, an artist, an actor, a salesman and finally a TV announcer at WDSU-TV in New Orleans. Discovered by producer Buddy Adler on a television show. he was contracted to 20th Century Fox on Oct. 8, 1956 with his first work narrating the film Three Brave Men.
He had lead roles in several of the studio's API second features and made appearances in some of Fox's major films. Following his years at Fox he appeared as a guest star on numerous American television series,

Legendary Trident Studios and Abbey Road engineer and producer Kent Scott joins Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy in the latest instalment of our 'My Classic Album' series to discuss David Bowie's 'Hunky Dory' album that Ken co-produced with Bowie.
Ken will relay what it was like working with David Bowie on their first co-production which was later followed by ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars’, ‘Pin Ups’ and ‘Aladdin Sane’ (and they also worked together on Lou Reed’s classic album ‘Transformer’). Ken’s first hand accounts are a wonder to behold and a must see for any Bowie fan.
‘My Classic Album’ is a series of free-to-view artist interview streams created with support from the Arts Council England Cultural Recovery Fund. Future interviews will feature artists such as Black Midi, Emma-Jean Thackray, The Kooks, Mark Leckie and many more.

Ken Scott
Ken Scott (born 20 April 1947) is a British record producer/engineer widely known for being one of the five main engineers for the Beatles, as well as engineering Elton John, Pink Floyd, Procol Harum, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Duran Duran, the Jeff Beck Group and many more. As a producer, Scott is noted for his work with David Bowie (on Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, Aladdin Sane and Pinups), Supertramp (Crime of the Century and Crisis? What Crisis?), Devo, Kansas, the Tubes, Gamma 1 RonnieMontrose and Level 42, among others.
Scott was also very influential in the evolution of Jazz Rock, pioneering a harder rock sound, through his work with Mahavishnu Orchestra (Birds of Fire, Visions of the Emerald Beyond and The Lost Trident Tapes), Stanley Clarke (Stanley Clarke, Journey to Love and School Days), Billy Cobham (Spectrum, Crosswinds, Total Eclipse and Shabazz) and Jeff Beck (There and Back).
Originally from South London, Scott resided in Los Angeles from 1976 to 2013 then relocated to Nashville.
