The Participating artists are: John Ruppert from USA, Anne Bean from UK, Peter Fink from UK, Ali Najjar from Sweden, Ger Alois-Zwing from Germany, Avtarjeet Dhanjal from UK, Sanna Karlsson-Sutisna from Finland, Richard Cox from UK and Richard Deacon from UK. It is all too well-known that the multi-cultural ethos of the Indian sub-continent has helped nourish the various nuances of its arts - be it languages, poetry, music, dance, theatre and the visual arts apart from architecture, the cousins, attire, the political and geographical landscape. The centuries long coexistence of these varied ethnic groups has helped create a genre of its own and enriched the art-scape with a unique fusion of ideas and existential realities. This sensitivity to diversity that is intrinsic to our cultural realities in some way made this the perfect venue for an engagement such as the International Art Conclave. ................................................................ Peter Fink - UK Born in London, Peter Fink grew up in Czechoslovakia. The exigencies of the political situation - the difficulties of obtaining art material and studio space, as well as the dominant ideology of art in the service of the state - led him initially to study engineering. Upon resettling in London in his early twenties, Peter studied sculpture at St Martin's and later Philosophy at UCL. It was at this time that he started to formulate the set of beliefs which have since informed his practice as an artist: a distrust of hype, modishness and personality cult of the art world system, and the belief that artists need to engage independently and directly with the world outside the art gallery and museum structures. Peter’s interdisciplinary and collaborative way of working with other professionals is linked to the significant emphasis he gives to the discursive and interactive relationship with stakeholders, end-users and communities. Peter worked for over 25 years as an artist outside the gallery system on public art projects worldwide. During this period, Peter established his presence and interests through a wide range of distinct, award-winning projects combining art, lighting, architecture, urbanism and ecology. Peter brings to his practice an unusual background and combination of skills with degrees in Engineering, Philosophy and Visual Arts. Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi organised a 4 day International Art Conclave from 10th to 13 February 2015 in which 9 artists from Finland, Germany, Sweden, UK and USA gave audio visual presentations about their art work atthe Auditorium of Government Museum & Art Gallery, Sector 10, Chandigarh.
The Participating artists are: John Ruppert from USA, Anne Bean from UK, Peter Fink from UK, Ali Najjar from Sweden, Ger Alois-Zwing from Germany, Avtarjeet Dhanjal from UK, Sanna Karlsson-Sutisna from Finland, Richard Cox from UK and Richard Deacon from UK.
It is all too well-known that the multi-cultural ethos of the Indian sub-continent has helped nourish the various nuances of its arts - be it languages, poetry, music, dance, theatre and the visual arts apart from architecture, the cousins, attire, the political and geographical landscape. The centuries long coexistence of these varied ethnic groups has helped create a genre of its own and enriched the art-scape with a unique fusion of ideas and existential realities. This sensitivity to diversity that is intrinsic to our cultural realities in some way made this the perfect venue for an engagement such as the International Art Conclave.

Peter Fink - UK
Born in London, Peter Fink grew up in Czechoslovakia. The exigencies
of the political situation - the difficulties of obtaining art
material and studio space, as well as the dominant ideology of art in
the service of the state - led him initially to study engineering.
Upon resettling in London in his early twenties, Peter studied
sculpture at St Martin's and later Philosophy at UCL. It was at this
time that he started to formulate the set of beliefs which have since
informed his practice as an artist: a distrust of hype, modishness and
personality cult of the art world system, and the belief that artists
need to engage independently and directly with the world outside the
art gallery and museum structures.
Peter’s interdisciplinary and collaborative way of working with other
professionals is linked to the significant emphasis he gives to the
discursive and interactive relationship with stakeholders, end-users
and communities. Peter worked for over 25 years as an artist outside
the gallery system on public art projects worldwide. During this
period, Peter established his presence and interests through a wide
range of distinct, award-winning projects combining art, lighting,
architecture, urbanism and ecology.
Peter brings to his practice an unusual background and combination of
skills with degrees in Engineering, Philosophy and Visual Arts. His
long-standing interest is in architecture as well as in co-writing
several seminal books on the topic of public art and architecture.

John Turturro studied at the Yale School of Drama. He created the title role of John Patrick Shanley's Danny and the Deep Blue Sea in his theatrical début, for which he won an Obie Award and a Theater World Award.
Since then, Turturro has returned to the stage often, in productions such as Waiting for Godot; performing the title role in Bertolt Brecht's The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui; and in Eduardo de Filippo's Souls of Naples, for which he received a Drama Desk nomination. He recently completed Samuel Beckett's ENDGAME at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM).
Mr. Turturro has also performed in more than sixty films, working with directors such as Martin Scorsese (The Color of Money), Spike Lee (Do the Right Thing and Jungle Fever), Robert Redford (Quiz Show), Peter Weir (Fearless), Tom DiCillo (Box of Moonlight), and Joel and Ethan Coen (Miller's Crossing; The Big Lebowski; O Brother, Where Art Thou?; and the lead role in Barton Fink, which won him the Best Actor Award at the Cannes Film Festival and the David di Donatello Award.) Mr. Turturro received SAG Award nominations for his television portrayals of Howard Cosell in Monday Night Mayhem and Billy Martin in ESPN's The Bronx Is Burning. He won an Emmy for his guest appearance on the hit series Monk. John Turturro has also directed three films. His directorial debut, Mac, won the Camera d' Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Future chips will feature heterogeneous architectures with multicores, graphics processors (GPUs), field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), and various fixed function accelerators. This talk will present an overview of the IBM Liquid Metal project, which aims to bring the power of these heterogenous systems to mainstream programmers.
We have developed a programming language called Lime, with first-class language constructs that unify several parallel programming paradigms. The Liquid Metal toolchain compiles Lime applications to run on a number of platforms, and the runtime transparently manages scheduling, communication, and task migration.

It is all too well-known that the multi-cultural ethos of the Indian sub-continent has helped nourish the various nuances of its arts - be it languages, poetry, music, dance, theatre and the visual arts apart from architecture, the cousins, attire, the political and geographical landscape. The centuries long coexistence of these varied ethnic groups has helped create a genre of its own and enriched the art-scape with a unique fusion of ideas and existential realities. This sensitivity to diversity that is intrinsic to our cultural realities in some way made this the perfect venue for an engagement such as the International Art Conclave.

Peter Fink - UK
Born in London, Peter Fink grew up in Czechoslovakia. The exigencies
of the political situation - the difficulties of obtaining art
material and studio space, as well as the dominant ideology of art in
the service of the state - led him initially to study engineering.
Upon resettling in London in his early twenties, Peter studied
sculpture at St Martin's and later Philosophy at UCL. It was at this
time that he started to formulate the set of beliefs which have since
informed his practice as an artist: a distrust of hype, modishness and
personality cult of the art world system, and the belief that artists
need to engage independently and directly with the world outside the
art gallery and museum structures.
Peter’s interdisciplinary and collaborative way of working with other
professionals is linked to the significant emphasis he gives to the
discursive and interactive relationship with stakeholders, end-users
and communities. Peter worked for over 25 years as an artist outside
the gallery system on public art projects worldwide. During this
period, Peter established his presence and interests through a wide
range of distinct, award-winning projects combining art, lighting,
architecture, urbanism and ecology.
Peter brings to his practice an unusual background and combination of
skills with degrees in Engineering, Philosophy and Visual Arts. His
long-standing interest is in architecture as well as in co-writing
several seminal books on the topic of public art and architecture.

Peter Fink - UK
Born in London, Peter Fink grew up in Czechoslovakia. The exigencies
of the political situation - the difficulties of obtaining art
material and studio space, as well as the dominant ideology of art in
the service of the state - led him initially to study engineering.
Upon resettling in London in his early twenties, Peter studied
sculpture at St Martin's and later Philosophy at UCL. It was at this
time that he started to formulate the set of beliefs which have since
informed his practice as an artist: a distrust of hype, modishness and
personality cult of the art world system, and the belief that artists
need to engage independently and directly with the world outside the
art gallery and museum structures.
Peter’s interdisciplinary and collaborative way of working with other
professionals is linked to the significant emphasis he gives to the
discursive and interactive relationship with stakeholders, end-users
and communities. Peter worked for over 25 years as an artist outside
the gallery system on public art projects worldwide. During this
period, Peter established his presence and interests through a wide
range of distinct, award-winning projects combining art, lighting,
architecture, urbanism and ecology.
Peter brings to his practice an unusual background and combination of
skills with degrees in Engineering, Philosophy and Visual Arts. His
long-standing interest is in architecture as well as in co-writing
several seminal books on the topic of public art and architecture.
