Plot: Jamie Klein is an out-of-work butch lesbian actor willing to try almost anything for a role. Not being a traditionally feminine woman, Jamie dresses up for auditions as "Femme Jamie," but has no success in landing roles. To add insult to injury, her roommate Lola's cat (named Howard) is also an actor, and he gets cast in virtually anything he auditions for. After watching Howard's acting reel, Jamie is ready to rise to the challenge and prove to herself that she can be more successful than a stupid cat. Jamie's best friend David convinces her that the way to do this is to simply be yourself, which in Jamie's case, is what she refers to as "Butch Jamie" -- short hair spiked up with gel, Doc Martin boots, a studded belt, and a neck chain. This unintentionally tips Jamie's perceived gender in the opposite direction, and she gets offered a role in a film as a man - Steve. Offended by the reality that there is little room for butch women in show biz, Jamie is reluctant to take the role, but accepts. Under the producer's requests, she is bound to confidentiality as Male Jamie and cannot reveal her true identity as a woman. On set, Jamie confronts a whole new set of hoops to jump through as a male imposter. "He" meets a flirtatious and alluring straight woman named Jill, and despite Jamie's better judgement, the two begin a hilariously complicated and sexy affair.

Quotes:
George: It was the greatest feeling I ever had. Followed abruptly by the worst feeling I ever had.
[last lines]::George: So in the end, was it worth it? Jesus Christ. How irreparably changed my life has become. It's always the last day of summer and I've been left out in the cold with no door to get back in. I'll grant you I've had more than my share of poignant moments. Life passes most people by while they're making grand plans for it. Throughout my lifetime, I've left pieces of my heart here and there. And now, there's almost not enough to stay alive. But I force a smile, knowing that my ambition far exceeded my talent. There are no more white horses or pretty ladies at my door.
George: Life passes most people by while they're making grand plans for it.
Fred Jung: Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again, but life goes on.
Ermine Jung: You think people don't know you're a drug dealer. Everyone knows, its no secret. Every time I go out I'm humiliated. So you go to jail. It's for your own good. You need to straighten your life out. What are you looking at Mrs. Gracie, your son's no prize.
Mirtha Jung: We are broke, that is my fucking problem and you are a fucking spy. That's right. Always spyin', always judgin'. Everyone's laughing in your face, you fucking pussy. You let Diego fuck you in the ass. Maybe because you like it, maybe because you're a fucking faggot. That's what I think you are. I think you are really fuckin' him cause you're not fucking me. Why's that? Why? Why don't you fuck me anymore? Don't you ever touch me again, motherfucker! Don't ever put your hands on me again, asshole! Get your hands off me. [Mirtha is carried out of the car by police] He's a fugitive and a fucking cocaine dealer! He's got a kilo in his trunk right now!
Mirtha Jung: I'm divorcin' you George. I am getting custody of Kristina. And when you get out next week, you're gonna pay support and that's the end of it. There is someone else. I did not think you would want to know but I wanted to tell you. Say something.::George: What do you want me to say? I'm in prison. You should know you're the one who put me in here.::Mirtha Jung: I knew you would say something like that. Always thinkin' about yourself.
George: May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face.::Fred Jung: And may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.::Fred Jung: Cheers, Georgie.::George: Cheers, pop.
George: Hello Dad. You know I remember a lifetime ago, when I was about 3 1/2 feet tall, weighing all of 60 pounds, but every inch your son. I remember those Saturday mornings going to work with my dad, we'd climb into that big green truck. I thought that truck... was the biggest truck in the universe pop. I remember how important the job we did was, how if it wasn't for us, people would freeze to death. I thought you were the strongest man in the world. And remember those home videos when mom would dress up like Loretta Young, barbeques and football games, ice cream, playing with the Tuna. And when I left for California only to come home with the FBI chasing me, and that FBI agent Trout had to kneel down to put my boots on and you said, "That's where you belong you son of a bitch, puttin on Georgie's boots." That was a good one Dad. That was really something. You remember that? And remember that time when you told me that money wasn't real. Well old man, I'm 42 years old, and I finally realize what you were trying to tell me, so many years ago. I finally understand. Your the best, pop, just wish I could have done more for you, wish we had more time. Anyway, may the wind always be at your back, and the sun always upon your face, and may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars. I love you Dad. Love George.
George: So, what'd I tell ya, Derek?::Derek: It's great, but what am I supposed to do with it?::George: Sell it.::Derek: Jesus Christ, George, I don't see you for two years and you show up on my doorstep with 110 pounds of blow.::George: Just fucking sell it, Derek.::Derek: Okay, but it's going to take me a year.::[scene shift to interior Derek's bar surrounded by stacks of cash]::Derek: 36 hours, 36 hours, I can't believe we got rid of it in 36 hours.::George: I think it's fair to say you underestimated the market, Derek.::Derek: Right on. It's going to take us longer to count it than it did to sell it.

Adjusting sense representations for knowledge-based word sense disambiguation
Speaker: Tristan Miller, Technische Universität Darmstadt (Germany)
Abstract: Word sense disambiguation (WSD) – the task of determining which meaning a word carries in a particular context – is a core research problem in computational linguistics. Though it has long been recognized that supervised (i.e., machine learning–based) approaches to WSD can yield impressive results, they require an amount of manually annotated training data that is often too expensive or impractical to obtain. This is a particular problem for under-resourced languages and text domains, and is also a hurdle in well-resourced languages when processing the sort of lexical-semantic anomalies employed for deliberate effect in humour and wordplay. In contrast to supervised systems are knowledge-based techniques, whi...

[edit] Islamic world
Restaurants came into existence throughout the medieval Islamic world before doing so in China. The Islamic world had "restaurants where one could purchase all sorts of prepared dishes." These restaurants were mentioned by Al-Muqaddasi (born 945) in the late 10th century.[2]
Restaurants in medieval Islamic Spain served three-course meals, which was earlier introduced in the 9th century by Ziryab, who insisted that meals should be served in three separate courses consisting of soup, the main course, and dessert.[3]
The concept of the take-away restaurant was later developed by the Bengali Muslim entrepreneur Sake Dean Mahomed (17591851). After migrating to England, he founded the Hindoostanee Coffee House in 1810. It was an Indian curry house that operated on George Street, Central London.[4]

uses, see Eggplant (disambiguation).
Eggplant (US,[1] Australia,[2] New Zealand, anglophone Canada), aubergine (UK,[3] Ireland, Quebec) or brinjal (South Asia, South Africa)[4] is a plant species in the nightshade family Solanaceae. Solanum melongena is grown worldwide for its edible fruit.
Most commonly purple, the spongy, absorbent fruit is used in several cuisines. Typically used as a vegetable in cooking, it is a berry by botanical definition. As a member of the genus Solanum, it is related to the tomato and potato. Like the tomato, its skin and seeds can be eaten, but, like the potato, it is usually eaten cooked. Eggplant is nutritionally low in macronutrient and micronutrient content, but the capability of the fruit to absorb oils and flavors into its flesh through cooking expands its use in the culinary arts.
It was originally domesticated from the wild nightshade species thorn or bitter apple, S. incanum,[5][6][7] probably with two independent domestications: one in South Asia, and one in East Asia.[8] In 2018, China and India combined accounted for 87% of the world production of eggplants

In contrast to supervised systems are knowledge-based techniques, which rely only on pre-existing lexical-semantic resources (LSRs) such as dictionaries and thesauri. These techniques are of more general applicability but tend to suffer from lower performance due to the informational gap between the target word's context and the sense descriptions provided by the LSR. In this seminar, we treat the task of extending the efficacy and applicability of knowledge-based WSD, both generally and for the particular case of English puns. In the first part of the talk, we present two approaches for bridging the information gap and thereby improving WSD coverage and accuracy. In the first approach, we supplement the word's context and the LSR's sense descriptions with entries from a distributional thesaurus. The second approach enriches an LSR's sense information by aligning it to other, complementary LSRs. In the second part of the talk, we describe how these techniques, along with evaluation methodologies from traditional WSD, can be adapted for the "disambiguation" of puns, or rather for the automatic identification of their double meanings.
