Are you one of the billions of people out there getting a raw interest deal from your bank? Well, there is now another way to get that sweet, sweet interest you deserve in defi. In this video, I tell you all about the Compound Finance lending platform and how to start earning 8% interest today.
❓ What Is Compound ❓
In short, Compound Finance simply matches people that want to borrow crypto with those that want to supply crypto to earn interest. The platform allows users to lend or borrow a plethora of cryptocurrencies including Ethereum, Dai, USD Coin, Augur, SAI, Wrapped BTC, BAT and 0x. You should know that the stable coin Dai makes up the lions share of the lending and borrowing on Compound.
💰 What Are cTokens? 💰
Want to compound that awesome interest rate? Don’t be so hasty. It’s probably a good idea to understand what’s going on behind the scenes with your money.
If you supply Dai to earn interest on the platform, you will get something known as cDai sent back into your Ethereum wallet. It’s slightly confusing as you get a seemingly random amount cDai. So, what’s going on with that?
The first thing to know is that cDAI acts as a redemption token to redeem actual DAI. The same is true of any asset listed on Compound Finance. Any crypto asset you supply to earn interest on, you’ll get back a cToken for that asset.
cTokens are designed to increase slightly after every Ethereum block generated. This is how interest is generated on the platform.
🏁 How To Get Started Earning Interest On Compound Finance? 🏁
► Make sure you have your Dai on a Coinbase wallet, Ledger or Metamask.
► Head over to Compound.Finance and click ‘Markets’ at the top of the page.
► Click the ‘App’ button and connect your wallet.
► Select the wallet you want to access on Compound.
► Choose the asset you want to supply to earn interest.
► If you are supplying Dai enable it on your device if you are using a Ledger and accept the Compound contracts.
► Enter the amount of Dai you want to earn interest on and click ‘Supply’.
It really is that easy.
🔮 Why DeFi Lending Platforms Could Trigger Insane Capital flows Into Crypto? 🔮
Right now, banks are offering truly terrible interest rates. Lock up your money for three years at HSBC in the UK and you can expect to get only 2% interest. The point is that there are probably hundreds of millions of people around the world sitting on cash deposits in banks earning almost no interest whatsoever.
In addition, other assets like equities in the stock market look overextended. Maybe some people will begin to think the risk to reward profile is just not there anymore in these assets? There are over $85 trillion dollars worth of value locked up in global stock markets.
The bond markets have over $2.4 trillion worth of value stored in them. In the UK, a government two-year bond pays just 0.5% a year. The point is there is a lot of money sitting in banks, bonds and other assets that could get significantly better returns in defi. The key question is whether more and more people will start seeing opportunities like Compound as a solid alternative and reallocate their capital to defi.

What Is Compound (COMP)?
Compound is a DeFi lending protocol that allows users to earn interest on their cryptocurrencies by depositing them into one of several pools supported by the platform.
When a user deposits tokens to a Compound pool, they receive cTokens in return. These cTokens represent the individual’s stake in the pool and can be used to redeem the underlying cryptocurrency initially deposited into the pool at any time. For example, by depositing ETH into a pool, you will receive cETH in return. Over time, the exchange rate of these cTokens to the underlying asset increases, which means you can redeem them for more of the underlying asset than you initially put in — this is how the interest is distributed.
On the flip side, borrowers can take a secured loan from any Compound pool by depositing collateral. The maximum loan-to-value (LTV) ratio varies based on the collateral asset, but currently ranges from 50 to 75%. The interest rate paid varies by borrowed asset and borrowers can face automatic liquidation if their collateral falls below a specific maintenance threshold.
Since the launch of the Compound mainnet in September 2018, the platform has skyrocketed in popularity, and recently passed more than $800 million in total locked value.

Compound of three octahedra
In mathematics, the compound of three octahedra or octahedron 3-compound is a polyhedral compound formed from three regular octahedra, all sharing a common center but rotated with respect to each other. Although appearing earlier in the mathematical literature, it was rediscovered and popularized by M. C. Escher, who used it in the central image of his 1948 woodcut Stars.
Construction
A regular octahedron can be circumscribed around a cube in such a way that the eight edges of two opposite squares of the cube lie on the eight faces of the octahedron. The three octahedra formed in this way from the three pairs of opposite cube squares form the compound of three octahedra. The eight cube vertices are the same as the eight points in the compound where three edges cross each other. Each of the octahedron edges that participates in these triple crossings is divided by the crossing point in the ratio 1:√2. The remaining octahedron edges cross each other in pairs, within the interior of the compound; their crossings are at their midpoints and form right angles.

Compound (migrant labour)
A migrant worker compound is a key institution in a system such as that which regulated labour on mines in South Africa from the later nineteenth century. The tightly controlled closed compound which came to typify the phenomenon in that country originated on the diamond mines of Kimberley from about 1885 and was later replicated on the gold mines. This labour arrangement, regulating the flow of male workers from rural homes in Bantustans or Homelands to the mines and jobs in urban settings generally, became one of the major cogs in the apartheid state. The single-sex hostels that became flash points for unrest in the last years of apartheid were a later form of compound.
Compounds at Kimberley
An earlier form of compound developed in South Africa in response to copper mining in Namaqualand in the 1850s. However, the systems of control associated with labour compounds became more organized in the context of diamond mining at what became Kimberley from the early 1870s.

It is used as a lower-cost alternative to true chocolate, as it uses less-expensive hard vegetable fats such as coconut oil or palm kernel oil in place of the more expensive cocoa butter. It may also be known as 'compound coating' or 'chocolatey coating' when used as a coating for candy.
Often used in lower-grade candy bars, compound chocolate is designed to simulate enrobed chocolate on a product.
Cocoa butter must be tempered to maintain gloss and coating. A baker tempers chocolate by cooling the chocolate mass below its setting point, then rewarming the chocolate to between 31 and 32 °C (88 and 90 °F) for milk chocolate, or between 32 and 33 °C (90 and 91 °F) for semi-sweet chocolate. Compound coatings, however, do not need to be tempered. Instead, they are simply warmed to between 3 and 5 °C (5.4 and 9.0 °F) above the coating's melting point.

In short, Compound Finance simply matches people that want to borrow crypto with those that want to supply crypto to earn interest. The platform allows users to lend or borrow a plethora of cryptocurrencies including Ethereum, Dai, USD Coin, Augur, SAI, Wrapped BTC, BAT and 0x. You should know that the stable coin Dai makes up the lions share of the lending and borrowing on Compound.
💰 What Are cTokens? 💰
Want to compound that awesome interest rate? Don’t be so hasty. It’s probably a good idea to understand what’s going on behind the scenes with your money.
If you supply Dai to earn interest on the platform, you will get something known as cDai sent back into your Ethereum wallet. It’s slightly confusing as you get a seemingly random amount cDai. So, what’s going on with that?
The first thing to know is that cDAI acts as a redemption token to redeem actual DAI. The same is true of any asset listed on Compound Finance. Any crypto asset you supply to earn interest on, you’ll get back a cToken for that asset.
cTokens are designed to increase slightly after every Ethereum block generated. This is how interest is generated on the platform.
🏁 How To Get Started Earning Interest On Compound Finance? 🏁
► Make sure you have your Dai on a Coinbase wallet, Ledger or Metamask.
► Head over to Compound.Finance and click ‘Markets’ at the top of the page.
► Click the ‘App’ button and connect your wallet.
► Select the wallet you want to access on Compound.
► Choose the asset you want to supply to earn interest.
► If you are supplying Dai enable it on your device if you are using a Ledger and accept the Compound contracts.
► Enter the amount of Dai you want to earn interest on and click ‘Supply’.
It really is that easy.
🔮 Why DeFi Lending Platforms Could Trigger Insane Capital flows Into Crypto? 🔮
Right now, banks are offering truly terrible interest rates. Lock up your money for three years at HSBC in the UK and you can expect to get only 2% interest. The point is that there are probably hundreds of millions of people around the world sitting on cash deposits in banks earning almost no interest whatsoever.
In addition, other assets like equities in the stock market look overextended. Maybe some people will begin to think the risk to reward profile is just not there anymore in these assets? There are over $85 trillion dollars worth of value locked up in global stock markets.

What Is Compound (COMP)?
Compound is a DeFi lending protocol that allows users to earn interest on their cryptocurrencies by depositing them into one of several pools supported by the platform.
When a user deposits tokens to a Compound pool, they receive cTokens in return. These cTokens represent the individual’s stake in the pool and can be used to redeem the underlying cryptocurrency initially deposited into the pool at any time. For example, by depositing ETH into a pool, you will receive cETH in return. Over time, the exchange rate of these cTokens to the underlying asset increases, which means you can redeem them for more of the underlying asset than you initially put in — this is how the interest is distributed.
On the flip side, borrowers can take a secured loan from any Compound pool by depositing collateral. The maximum loan-to-value (LTV) ratio varies based on the collateral asset, but currently ranges from 50 to 75%. The interest rate paid varies by borrowed asset and borrowers can face automatic liquidation if their collateral falls below a specific maintenance threshold.
Since the launch of the Compound mainnet in September 2018, the platform has skyrocketed in popularity, and recently passed more than $800 million in total locked value.

Are you one of the billions of people out there getting a raw interest deal from your bank? Well, there is now another way to get that sweet, sweet interest you deserve in defi. In this video, I tell you all about the Compound Finance lending platform and how to start earning 8% interest today.
❓ What Is Compound ❓
In short, Compound Finance simply matches people that want to borrow crypto with those that want to supply crypto to earn interest. The platform allows users to lend or borrow a plethora of cryptocurrencies including Ethereum, Dai, USD Coin, Augur, SAI, Wrapped BTC, BAT and 0x. You should know that the stable coin Dai makes up the lions share of the lending and borrowing on Compound.
💰 What Are cTokens? 💰
Want to compound that awesome interest rate? Don’t be so hasty. It’s probably a good idea to understand what’s going on behind the scenes with your money.
If you supply Dai to earn interest on the platform, you will get something known as cDai sent back into your Ethereum wallet. It’s slightly confusing as you get a seemingly random amount cDai. So, what’s going on with that?
The first thing to know is that cDAI acts as a redemption token to redeem actual DAI. The same is true of any asset listed on Compound Finance. Any crypto asset you supply to earn interest on, you’ll get back a cToken for that asset.
cTokens are designed to increase slightly after every Ethereum block generated. This is how interest is generated on the platform.

► Make sure you have your Dai on a Coinbase wallet, Ledger or Metamask.
► Head over to Compound.Finance and click ‘Markets’ at the top of the page.
► Click the ‘App’ button and connect your wallet.
► Select the wallet you want to access on Compound.
► Choose the asset you want to supply to earn interest.
► If you are supplying Dai enable it on your device if you are using a Ledger and accept the Compound contracts.
► Enter the amount of Dai you want to earn interest on and click ‘Supply’.

Right now, banks are offering truly terrible interest rates. Lock up your money for three years at HSBC in the UK and you can expect to get only 2% interest. What Is Compound (COMP)?
Compound is a DeFi lending protocol that allows users to earn interest on their cryptocurrencies by depositing them into one of several pools supported by the platform.
When a user deposits tokens to a Compound pool, they receive cTokens in return. These cTokens represent the individual’s stake in the pool and can be used to redeem the underlying cryptocurrency initially deposited into the pool at any time. For example, by depositing ETH into a pool, you will receive cETH in return. Over time, the exchange rate of these cTokens to the underlying asset increases, which means you can redeem them for more of the underlying asset than you initially put in — this is how the interest is distributed.
On the flip side, borrowers can take a secured loan from any Compound pool by depositing collateral. The maximum loan-to-value (LTV) ratio varies based on the collateral asset, but currently ranges from 50 to 75%. The interest rate paid varies by borrowed asset and borrowers can face automatic liquidation if their collateral falls below a specific maintenance threshold.
Since the launch of the Compound mainnet in September 2018, the platform has skyrocketed in popularity, and recently passed more than $800 million in total locked value.

Compound of three octahedra
In mathematics, the compound of three octahedra or octahedron 3-compound is a polyhedral compound formed from three regular octahedra, all sharing a common center but rotated with respect to each other. Although appearing earlier in the mathematical literature, it was rediscovered and popularized by M. C. Escher, who used it in the central image of his 1948 woodcut Stars.
Construction
A regular octahedron can be circumscribed around a cube in such a way that the eight edges of two opposite squares of the cube lie on the eight faces of the octahedron. The three octahedra formed in this way from the three pairs of opposite cube squares form the compound of three octahedra. The eight cube vertices are the same as the eight points in the compound where three edges cross each other. Each of the octahedron edges that participates in these triple crossings is divided by the crossing point in the ratio 1:√2. The remaining octahedron edges cross each other in pairs, within the interior of the compound; their crossings are at their midpoints and form right angles.
