Brookfield is a common place name in English-speaking countries. It is formed from the conjoining of the common words brook and field.
Brookfield is one of three stations on Metra's BNSF Railway Line in Brookfield, Illinois. The station is 12.3 miles (19.8 km) from Union Station, the east end of the line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Brookfield is in zone C. A staffed station is on the south side of the three tracks.
Brookfield Station was originally built in 1889 as Grossdale Station, when Samuel Eberly Gross, a Chicago lawyer, began selling building lots platted from farms and woodlands he had acquired along both sides of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad line. Brookfield itself was originally known as "Grossdale," and the station was the first building Gross erected in the new subdivision. In 1981 the original station house was moved across the tracks onto the corner of Brookfield Avenue and Forest Avenue, and now houses the Brookfield Historical Society. The current Brookfield station serves as standard commuter railroad station, while the old Grossdale Station has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1982.
Short Songs is the sixth studio album by Canadian band Silverstein. The release has an untraditional amount of songs at 22, though as its title suggests, all songs are short and mostly under 90 seconds. Only 11 of the songs are original, while the other 11 are covers of songs by notable punk and hardcore bands that influenced Silverstein, such as Green Day, Dead Kennedys, Gorilla Biscuits and NOFX. It is the band's second release on Hopeless Records and like their last release, it was also produced by Jordan Valeriote. It is also the band's last release with long-time guitarist Neil Boshart, who left the band in the summer of 2012.
Silverstein entered the studio in October 2011 with producer Jordan Valeriote, who produced their last studio album Rescue (2011) as well as their Transitions (2010) EP, to record a new release which was described by the band as a "mini-album" and "an extension of Rescue". The material came together very quickly and the band wanted to release it fast, scheduling January 2012 release, instead of making their fans wait for their next proper album. In a promotional video describing the project, Silverstein drummer Paul Koehler said, "Most people might associate a 'short song' with a fast punk rock vibe, but that's not always the case. There will still be a ballad, a breakdown, and some singalongs, all amidst these quick songs. The idea is to give the listeners a mini-Silverstein album, and take them through all of the peaks and valleys they could expect from any of our original albums." The cover of the Dead Kennedys' "Short Songs" was recorded with additional guest vocals from many singers of notable punk and hardcore bands, including Tim McIlrath of Rise Against, Chris #2 of Anti-Flag, Chris Hannah of Propagandhi and many more. Liam Cormier of Cancer Bats also recorded guest vocals on the song "xOn Our Kneesx."

Deeds outwits them all until Babe Bennett comes along. Babe is a hot-shot reporter who figures the best way to get close to Deeds is to pose as a damsel in distress. When small-town boy meets big-city girl anything can, and does, happen.

Brookfield is a favorite company of mine, but to the exposure it provides me to various alternative assets being managed by world class value investors. However, this is a complicated company and in hindsight, I feel as though this is a video of my rambling along aimlessly as I attempt to simplify the puzzle that is Brookfield Asset Management. A 26 ounce promise
The bottle still lays there
We'll make a right on Brookfield
Never took anyone else here
The days I sit for hours
This night I tried to throw these rocks in to
This dirty lake that's home
You standing in my backyard
Your hands up in the air
Calling out my name one hundred times but I'm not there
I think you telling secrets
To people who don't care enough to know
Why I'm so scared
I'll just sit in silence
Waves the only sounds
A sailboat divide the clouds that cover this whole town
So if it really makes no difference
I'll just see you around
And if it doesn't matter
I'll stay here til the sun goes down
I'm standing in your front yard
My hands aren't in the air
And I don't say a word you know exactly why I'm here
A 26 ounce promise
The bottle still lays there
