The General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper (sometimes called Predator B) is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) capable of remotely controlled or autonomous flight operations, developed by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) primarily for the United States Air Force (USAF). The MQ-9 and other UAVs are referred to as Remotely Piloted Vehicles/Aircraft (RPV/RPA) by the USAF to indicate their human ground controllers. The MQ-9 is the first hunter-killer UAV designed for long-endurance, high-altitude surveillance. In 2006, the then–Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force General T. Michael Moseley said: "We've moved from using UAVs primarily in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance roles before Operation Iraqi Freedom, to a true hunter-killer role with the Reaper."
The MQ-9 is a larger, heavier, and more capable aircraft than the earlier General Atomics MQ-1 Predator; it can be controlled by the same ground systems used to control MQ-1s. The Reaper has a 950-shaft-horsepower (712 kW) turboprop engine (compared to the Predator's 115 hp (86 kW) piston engine). The greater power allows the Reaper to carry 15 times more ordnance payload and cruise at about three times the speed of the MQ-1. The aircraft is monitored and controlled by aircrew in the Ground Control Station (GCS), including weapons employment.

An unmanned combat aerial vehicle is also known as a combat drone or battlefield UAV is an unmanned aerial vehicle that is used for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance and may carry aircraft ordnance such as missiles, ATGMs, and bombs in hardpoints to be used for drone strikes.
Nowadays, military drones are taking over the skies. Forget fighter jets and stealth bombers, decommission ground attack aircraft, and with a gentle touch of a command console and switch to autonomous mode. We need as little interference from squishy human beings as possible because unmanned aerial vehicles are where the future of aerial warfare is. Many nations have adopted one or another form of UAV for surveillance and communication, and a number of them wield drones that can actually fight. Be it using air-to-ground missiles, laser-guided bombs or even experimental air-to-air capability, most of today’s aerial missions can be performed by drones. Not all combat drones are created equal, though. Some of them are just enhanced versions of surveillance UAVs, while others were built to be almost as capable as the most advanced jet fighters.
The criteria to compare them are the same, though. On this occasion, we want to select the most effective, the most capable and the most combat-ready of them all. With this in mind, let's check it out.

The reconnaissance UAV "Orion" is the first in Russia aerial reconnaissance complex with an unmanned aerial vehicle of long duration of flight, corresponding to the international classification MALE class (medium-altitude long-endurance - medium-high, long duration of flight). The export version of the UAV is called "Orion-E". The tasks of the complex are aerial reconnaissance and patrolling, determination of the coordinates of ground and surface objects, topographic survey of the terrain. The maximum take-off weight of the Orion-E is 1 ton, the maximum payload mass is 200 kg. "Orion-E" is the first drone class MALE, fully developed in Russia and built from domestic components. it may work at least 24 hours at altitudes up to 8000 meters.

БПЛА имеет среднюю массу, большую продолжительность полёта и грузоподъёмность. Бортовое оборудование предназначено для визуальной, радиолокационной или радиотехнической разведки с возможностью длительного патрулирования в заданном районе. Экспортный вариант БПЛА называется «Орион-Э». Взлетная масса «Ориона» составляет примерно 1200 кг, из которых 200 кг приходится на полезную нагрузку в виде целевого оборудования. Аппарат способен автоматически взлетать и садиться. По командам с операторского пульта машина должна выходить в заданный район. Возможна работа беспилотника на удалении до 250 км от наземной аппаратуры управления. Летные характеристики и экономичный двигатель позволили получить продолжительность полета на уровне 24 часов. Unmanned aerial vehicle
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone, as an unmanned aircraft system (UAS), and also referred by several other names, is an aircraft without a human pilot aboard. The flight of UAVs may be controlled with various kinds of autonomy : either by a given degree of remote control from an operator, located on the ground or in another vehicle, or fully autonomously, by onboard computers.
Historically, UAVs were simple remotely piloted aircrafts, but autonomous control is increasingly being employed : UAV stands nowadays at the crossroads of aviation, electromagnetics, radiocommunication, computer science, avionics, automation, cybernetics, and even core fields of artificial intelligence such as computer vision, decision-making, machine learning and robotics.
UAVs are often preferred for missions that are too "dull, dirty or dangerous" for manned aircrafts. They have and are mostly found in military and special operation applications. Though, UAVs are increasingly finding uses in civil applications, such as policing and surveillance, aerial filming and hobbyist FPV racing.

Nowadays, military drones are taking over the skies. Forget fighter jets and stealth bombers, decommission ground attack aircraft, and with a gentle touch of a command console and switch to autonomous mode. We need as little interference from squishy human beings as possible because unmanned aerial vehicles are where the future of aerial warfare is. Many nations have adopted one or another form of UAV for surveillance and communication, and a number of them wield drones that can actually fight. Be it using air-to-ground missiles, laser-guided bombs or even experimental air-to-air capability, most of today’s aerial missions can be performed by drones. Not all combat drones are created equal, though. Some of them are just enhanced versions of surveillance UAVs, while others were built to be almost as capable as the most advanced jet fighters.
The criteria to compare them are the same, though. On this occasion, we want to select the most effective, the most capable and the most combat-ready of them all. With this in mind, let's check it out.

The reconnaissance UAV "Orion" is the first in Russia aerial reconnaissance complex with an unmanned aerial vehicle of long duration of flight, corresponding to the international classification MALE class (medium-altitude long-endurance - medium-high, long duration of flight). The export version of the UAV is called "Orion-E". The tasks of the complex are aerial reconnaissance and patrolling, determination of the coordinates of ground and surface objects, topographic survey of the terrain. The maximum take-off weight of the Orion-E is 1 ton, the maximum payload mass is 200 kg. "Orion-E" is the first drone class MALE, fully developed in Russia and built from domestic components. it may work at least 24 hours at altitudes up to 8000 meters.

The General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper (sometimes called Predator B) is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) capable of remotely controlled or autonomous flight operations, developed by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) primarily for the United States Air Force (USAF). The MQ-9 and other UAVs are referred to as Remotely Piloted Vehicles/Aircraft (RPV/RPA) by the USAF to indicate their human ground controllers. The MQ-9 is the first hunter-killer UAV designed for long-endurance, high-altitude surveillance. In 2006, the then–Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force General T. Michael Moseley said: "We've moved from using UAVs primarily in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance roles before Operation Iraqi Freedom, to a true hunter-killer role with the Reaper."
The MQ-9 is a larger, heavier, and more capable aircraft than the earlier General Atomics MQ-1 Predator; it can be controlled by the same ground systems used to control MQ-1s. The Reaper has a 950-shaft-horsepower (712 kW) turboprop engine (compared to the Predator's 115 hp (86 kW) piston engine). The greater power allows the Reaper to carry 15 times more ordnance payload and cruise at about three times the speed of the MQ-1. The aircraft is monitored and controlled by aircrew in the Ground Control Station (GCS), including weapons employment.

The reconnaissance UAV "Orion" is the first in Russia aerial reconnaissance complex with an unmanned aerial vehicle of long duration of flight, corresponding to the international classification MALE class (medium-altitude long-endurance - medium-high, long duration of flight). The export version of the UAV is called "Orion-E". The tasks of the complex are aerial reconnaissance and patrolling, determination of the coordinates of ground and surface objects, topographic survey of the terrain. The maximum take-off weight of the Orion-E is 1 ton, the maximum payload mass is 200 kg. "Orion-E" is the first drone class MALE, fully developed in Russia and built from domestic components. it may work at least 24 hours at altitudes up to 8000 meters.
«Орион» — российский беспилотный летательный аппарат (БПЛА) средневысотный большой продолжительности полёта (MALE, Medium Altitude, Long Endurance) разработки компании «Кронштадт» (АФК Система). БПЛА имеет среднюю массу, большую продолжительность полёта и грузоподъёмность. Бортовое оборудование предназначено для визуальной, радиолокационной или радиотехнической разведки с возможностью длительного патрулирования в заданном районе. Экспортный вариант БПЛА называется «Орион-Э». Взлетная масса «Ориона» составляет примерно 1200 кг, из которых 200 кг приходится на полезную нагрузку в виде целевого оборудования. Аппарат способен автоматически взлетать и садиться. По командам с операторского пульта машина должна выходить в заданный район. Возможна работа беспилотника на удалении до 250 км от наземной аппаратуры управления. Летные характеристики и экономичный двигатель позволили получить продолжительность полета на уровне 24 часов. Высота полета – до 8000 м.

Unmanned aerial vehicle
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone, as an unmanned aircraft system (UAS), and also referred by several other names, is an aircraft without a human pilot aboard. The flight of UAVs may be controlled with various kinds of autonomy : either by a given degree of remote control from an operator, located on the ground or in another vehicle, or fully autonomously, by onboard computers.
Historically, UAVs were simple remotely piloted aircrafts, but autonomous control is increasingly being employed : UAV stands nowadays at the crossroads of aviation, electromagnetics, radiocommunication, computer science, avionics, automation, cybernetics, and even core fields of artificial intelligence such as computer vision, decision-making, machine learning and robotics.
UAVs are often preferred for missions that are too "dull, dirty or dangerous" for manned aircrafts. They have and are mostly found in military and special operation applications. Though, UAVs are increasingly finding uses in civil applications, such as policing and surveillance, aerial filming and hobbyist FPV racing.
