What's it like living in Kansas City? Well first off, there's a KC Kansas as well and it's hot and humid in the Summer, just like most of the mid-west. It's actually the largest city in Missouri, although the St Louis metropolitan area is actually slightly bigger. It's also, along with Omaha, Wichita, and other great plains suburbs, one of the cheapest and best cities to live in America. While it isn't the fastest growing city, a lot of people are moving to KCMO, and there is a cheap cost of living, so why shouldn't you live in Kansas City, MO.

Kansas City is the largest city in the U.S. state of Missouri. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city had an estimated population of 491,918 in 2018, making it the 38th most-populous city in the United States. Most of the city lies within Jackson County, but portions spill into Clay, Cass, and Platte counties. Along with Independence, one of its major suburbs, it serves as one of the two county seats of Jackson County. Other major suburbs include the Missouri cities of Blue Springs and Lee's Summit and the Kansas cities of Overland Park, Olathe, and Kansas City.
The city is composed of several neighborhoods, including the River Market District in the north, the 18th and Vine District in the east, and the Country Club Plaza in the south. Kansas City is known for its long tradition of jazz music and culture, especially theater – the city was the center of the Vaudevillian Orpheum circuit in the 1920s. I look at it this way. All cities have their good and their bad. They have pros and cons. I just focus on the bad. If you want to see the good, contact a real estate agent or go to the city's tourism website. It is nothing but rainbows and sunshine. You might get a foot rub if you show up at the office.
These videos aren’t designed to tell you not to move someplace, they are just showing you some things you should know about if you are thinking about moving to those places. I mean if a place has a low cost of living, high unemployment and bad schools it is probably more suited for a retiree than a new family starting out. Retirees aren’t looking for jobs or schools, new families are.

Kansas City Union Station
Kansas City Union Station is a union station serving Kansas City, Missouri, and the surrounding metropolitan area. Opened in 1914, it served as a replacement for the original Union Depot which opened in 1878. Union Station served a peak annual passenger traffic of over 670,000 in 1945 at the end of World War II, then spent the next four decades in gradual decline until its closure in 1985.
In 1996, a public/private partnership began funding Union Station's $250 million restoration. By 1999, the station reopened as a series of museums and other public attractions. In 2002, Union Station saw its return as a train station when Amtrak began providing public transportation services and has since become Missouri's second-busiest train station. The Kansas City Metropolitan Area has a long history of sports, which has included national championship teams and championship title events.
Major professional teams
Kansas City has had teams in all five of the major, professional sports leagues; three major league teams remain today. The Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball became the first American League expansion team to reach the playoffs (1976), to reach the World Series (1980), and to win the World Series (1985; against the state-rival St. Louis Cardinals in the "Show-Me Series"). They did not make the playoffs again until 2014, falling in seven games to the San Francisco Giants. The Royals would return to the postseason again in 2015, where they defeated the New York Mets in five games, clinching the title with a 7-2 win in 12 innings.
Since moving to the city in 1963, the Kansas City Chiefs won the AFL title in 1966, ultimately losing Super Bowl I to the Green Bay Packers, and again in 1969 as the last ever AFL champion, en route to their only Super Bowl win. They won Super Bowl IV against the Minnesota Vikings, 23-7.

Oregon City-class cruiser
The Oregon City class were a class of heavy cruisers of the United States Navy. Although it was intended to build eight, only four were completed – one of those as a command ship. The three cruisers were in commission from 1946 to 1970.
Design and development
The Oregon City-class cruisers were a modified version of the previous Baltimore-class design; the main difference was a more compact pyramidal superstructure with single trunked funnel, intended to improve the arcs of fire of the anti-aircraft (AA) guns. The same type of modification also differentiated the Cleveland and Fargo classes of light cruisers.
History
Eight ships were authorized for the class with three being completed and the fourth suspended during construction. The final four ships were cancelled. Construction on the incomplete fourth ship was resumed in 1948 and the ship served as a command ship Northampton (CLC-1). All three completed ships were commissioned in 1946. Oregon City was decommissioned after only 18 months of service, probably the shortest active life of any WWII-era cruiser. Albany was later converted into a guided missile ship, becoming the lead ship of the Albany class and served until 1980. A similar conversion was planned for Rochester but was cancelled.

Kansas 
i/ˈkænzəs/ is a U.S. state located in the Midwestern United States. It is named after the Kansa Native American tribe, which inhabited the area. The tribe's name (natively kką:ze) is often said to mean "people of the wind" or "people of the south wind", although this was probably not the term's original meaning. Residents of Kansas are called "Kansans". For thousands of years, what is now Kansas was home to numerous and diverse Native American tribes. Tribes in the eastern part of the state generally lived in villages along the river valleys. Tribes in the western part of the state were semi-nomadic and hunted large herds of bison. Kansas was first settled by European Americans in the 1830s, but the pace of settlement accelerated in the 1850s, in the midst of political wars over the slavery issue.
When it was officially opened to settlement by the U.S. government in 1854, abolitionist Free-Staters from New England and pro-slavery settlers from neighboring Missouri rushed to the territory to determine whether Kansas would become a free state or a slave state. Thus, the area was a hotbed of violence and chaos in its early days as these forces collided, and was known as Bleeding Kansas. The abolitionists eventually prevailed, and on January 29, 1861, Kansas entered the Union as a free state. After the Civil War, the population of Kansas grew rapidly when waves of immigrants turned the prairie into farmland. Today, Kansas is one of the most productive agricultural states, producing high yields of wheat, corn, sorghum, and soybeans. Kansas is the 15th most extensive and the 34th most populous of the 50 United States.

"Kansas" is the twentieth episode of the third season of the American fantasy drama series Once Upon a Time, and the show's 64th episode overall, which aired on May 4, 2014. The episode was written by Andrew Chambliss & Kalinda Vazquez and directed by Gwyneth Horder-Payton.
In this episode Zelena kidnaps Snow White's baby, while flashbacks show Zelena's past with Glinda the Good Witch of the South.

In the Characters' Past
In the Emerald City of Oz, Zelena watches Rumplestiltskin train Regina through the portal, as she plots her scheme to destroy her half-sister. Glinda then arrives to tell Zelena about her true destiny, and wants her to meet her real sisters, who then offer her a chance to become the Witch of the West after she is introduced. Glinda tells them that Zelena doesn't have to be wicked, but believes that she can be good, if she can put aside her vengeance against Regina. However, the sisters tell Zelena of a book that Glinda keeps that foretells the arrival of a person to Oz in a cyclone, and Zelena is led to believing that she was the one they were looking for. Glinda, on the behalf of her sisters, then give Zelena the light pendant that will harness and protect her as it grows her powers, but tells her that once it is removed she will be powerless. After she takes the pendant her green skin disappears. Moments later after Glinda shows her the land she is giving to Zelena, both Glinda and Zelena witness a green cyclone arriving and it reveals debris being left behind and along with it, a young girl from the outside world, who Zelena finds among the rubble. She tells them that her name is Dorothy Gale and when they ask her where she is from, Dorothy tells them she is from Kansas but wants to know where she is and their names. When Glinda suggests that they take Dorothy to meet the sisters, Zelena's jealousy starts to reemerge.

What is going on everyone? Welcome back to the world according to Briggs my name is Briggs and it is time to get back to our old style videos. Roasting cities. At least that is what people say I do. I look at it this way. All cities have their good and their bad. They have pros and cons. I just focus on the bad. If you want to see the good, contact a real estate agent or go to the city's tourism website. It is nothing but rainbows and sunshine. You might get a foot rub if you show up at the office.
These videos aren’t designed to tell you not to move someplace, they are just showing you some things you should know about if you are thinking about moving to those places. I mean if a place has a low cost of living, high unemployment and bad schools it is probably more suited for a retiree than a new family starting out. Retirees aren’t looking for jobs or schools, new families are.

In 2005, I watched the British band Keane at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City. After they finished playing a song, the lead singer, Tom Chaplin, said it was the band’s first time in Kansas. Many members of the crowd immediately booed him for saying that. Why?
Kansas City is in Missouri.
But at least Chaplin had a good excuse, as most people who are not American don’t know that. They may not even know that Kansas and Missouri exist, although a lot of people seem to know Kansas due to The Wizard of Oz.
Before you get all mad at stuff. I know there’s more than Kansas City, Missouri.
Across the street there’s a Kansas City, Kansas, too!
Most of my wife’s family is from that Kansas City, the one in, you know, Kansas. But Kansas City, Kansas, or KCK is often overshadowed by Kansas City, Missouri, or KCMO due to the fact that it’s more than three times larger and has the majority of attractions that “Kansas City” is known for. Sure, KCK has the Kansas Speedway and Sporting KC, but KCMO has the Power and Light District, the Sprint Center, the World War 1 Museum, Westport, the Country Club Plaza, the Royals and the Chiefs, and Bryan Busby.
So there are two Kansas Cities, but why is the Kansas City most people think of the one that’s in Missouri? Well strangely, Kansas City, Missouri existed first. First known as The City of Kansas, it was incorporated on February 22, 1853. Its residents named it after the Kansa, a Native American tribe that the residents of Kansas also named their state after later on. Keep in mind that Kansas didn’t exist yet in 1853. The next year, it became a territory and it didn’t become a state until 1861.
It wasn’t until October 1872 that a few smaller towns all together to officially form Kansas City, Kansas. Of course, this was after Kansas City, Missouri’s population had skyrocketed. Before the Civil War, KCMO had less than 5,000 people. A decade later, it was approaching 35,000. The folks in KCK wanted to piggyback on the success of KCMO and essentially confuse visitors into thinking THEY were the real Kansas City. I should mention that before this, Kansas politicians made several attempts to annex KCMO and the surrounding area into Kansas. The Kansas City Times editorial board wrote, “Kansas City, Mo, is the legitimate outgrowth of the state of Kansas. In everything but a line on the map she is essentially a city of Kansas.” Unfortunately for Kansas, Missourians didn’t want to lose KCMO because you know, KCMO is awesome, so they fought back.
Since then, the two cities and their suburbs have thrived in their own ways, but KCMO often dominates the headlines. Freaking KCMO.
Anyway, how about this street behind me? It divides not just part of KCK and KCMO, but Kansas and Missouri further south. It’s called State Line Road, and it’s one of the most unique borders in the world. A street that divides two states presents unique challenges. Taxes are lower on this side than that side (that’s why you typically see more businesses on this side). At one time, the drinking age was 18 on that side of the street but 21 on this side. That led to a lot of 18 year olds crossing this street from here to there and later stumbling back, at least I presume. But how and why did State Line Road come to be?
The earliest mention of State Line Road comes from an 1872 directory. Back then, it was just a few blocks long. Just like today, people went back and forth across the border like it was nothing. Back then, this was where the cows were. In fact, cows could often be in both states at the same time. The stockyards straddled the border so that people could more easily conduct business on both sides of the state line, sometimes within the same building.
Soon though, it became apparent that a road separating the stockyards made it easier to move about to conduct such business. As the cities and their suburbs grew to the south, so did State Line Road. Today, it stretches nearly 14 miles.

What's it like living in Kansas City? Well first off, there's a KC Kansas as well and it's hot and humid in the Summer, just like most of the mid-west. It's actually the largest city in Missouri, although the St Louis metropolitan area is actually slightly bigger. It's also, along with Omaha, Wichita, and other great plains suburbs, one of the cheapest and best cities to live in America. While it isn't the fastest growing city, a lot of people are moving to KCMO, and there is a cheap cost of living, so why shouldn't you live in Kansas City, MO.

Kansas City is the largest city in the U.S. state of Missouri. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city had an estimated population of 491,918 in 2018, making it the 38th most-populous city in the United States. It is the central city of the Kansas City metropolitan area, which straddles the Kansas–Missouri state line. Kansas City was founded in the 1830s as a Missouri River port at its confluence with the Kansas River coming in from the west. On June 1, 1850, the town of Kansas was incorporated; shortly after came the establishment of the Kansas Territory. Confusion between the two ensued and the name Kansas City was assigned to distinguish them soon after.
Sitting on Missouri's western boundary with Kansas, with Downtown near the confluence of the Kansas and Missouri Rivers, the modern city encompasses some 319.03 square miles (826.3 km2), making it the 23rd largest city by total area in the United States. Most of the city lies within Jackson County, but portions spill into Clay, Cass, and Platte counties. Along with Independence, one of its major suburbs, it serves as one of the two county seats of Jackson County. Other major suburbs include the Missouri cities of Blue Springs and Lee's Summit and the Kansas cities of Overland Park, Olathe, and Kansas City.
The city is composed of several neighborhoods, including the River Market District in the north, the 18th and Vine District in the east, and the Country Club Plaza in the south. Kansas City is known for its long tradition of jazz music and culture, especially theater – the city was the center of the Vaudevillian Orpheum circuit in the 1920s. It is also noted for its cuisine, including its distinctive Kansas City-style barbecue, and its craft breweries.

What is going on everyone? Welcome back to the world according to Briggs my name is Briggs and it is time to get back to our old style videos. Roasting cities. At least that is what people say I do. I look at it this way. All cities have their good and their bad. They have pros and cons. I just focus on the bad. If you want to see the good, contact a real estate agent or go to the city's tourism website. It is nothing but rainbows and sunshine. You might get a foot rub if you show up at the office.
These videos aren’t designed to tell you not to move someplace, they are just showing you some things you should know about if you are thinking about moving to those places. I mean if a place has a low cost of living, high unemployment and bad schools it is probably more suited for a retiree than a new family starting out. Retirees aren’t looking for jobs or schools, new families are.

In 2005, I watched the British band Keane at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City. After they finished playing a song, the lead singer, Tom Chaplin, said it was the band’s first time in Kansas. Many members of the crowd immediately booed him for saying that. Why?
Kansas City is in Missouri.
But at least Chaplin had a good excuse, as most people who are not American don’t know that. They may not even know that Kansas and Missouri exist, although a lot of people seem to know Kansas due to The Wizard of Oz.
Before you get all mad at stuff. I know there’s more than Kansas City, Missouri.
Across the street there’s a Kansas City, Kansas, too!
Most of my wife’s family is from that Kansas City, the one in, you know, Kansas. But Kansas City, Kansas, or KCK is often overshadowed by Kansas City, Missouri, or KCMO due to the fact that it’s more than three times larger and has the majority of attractions that “Kansas City” is known for. Sure, KCK has the Kansas Speedway and Sporting KC, but KCMO has the Power and Light District, the Sprint Center, the World War 1 Museum, Westport, the Country Club Plaza, the Royals and the Chiefs, and Bryan Busby.
So there are two Kansas Cities, but why is the Kansas City most people think of the one that’s in Missouri? Well strangely, Kansas City, Missouri existed first. First known as The City of Kansas, it was incorporated on February 22, 1853. Its residents named it after the Kansa, a Native American tribe that the residents of Kansas also named their state after later on. Keep in mind that Kansas didn’t exist yet in 1853. The next year, it became a territory and it didn’t become a state until 1861.
It wasn’t until October 1872 that a few smaller towns all together to officially form Kansas City, Kansas. Of course, this was after Kansas City, Missouri’s population had skyrocketed. Before the Civil War, KCMO had less than 5,000 people. A decade later, it was approaching 35,000. The folks in KCK wanted to piggyback on the success of KCMO and essentially confuse visitors into thinking THEY were the real Kansas City. I should mention that before this, Kansas politicians made several attempts to annex KCMO and the surrounding area into Kansas. The Kansas City Times editorial board wrote, “Kansas City, Mo, is the legitimate outgrowth of the state of Kansas. In everything but a line on the map she is essentially a city of Kansas.” Unfortunately for Kansas, Missourians didn’t want to lose KCMO because you know, KCMO is awesome, so they fought back.
Since then, the two cities and their suburbs have thrived in their own ways, but KCMO often dominates the headlines. Freaking KCMO.
Anyway, how about this street behind me? It divides not just part of KCK and KCMO, but Kansas and Missouri further south. It’s called State Line Road, and it’s one of the most unique borders in the world. A street that divides two states presents unique challenges. Taxes are lower on this side than that side (that’s why you typically see more businesses on this side). At one time, the drinking age was 18 on that side of the street but 21 on this side. That led to a lot of 18 year olds crossing this street from here to there and later stumbling back, at least I presume. But how and why did State Line Road come to be?
The earliest mention of State Line Road comes from an 1872 directory. Back then, it was just a few blocks long. Just like today, people went back and forth across the border like it was nothing. Back then, this was where the cows were. In fact, cows could often be in both states at the same time. The stockyards straddled the border so that people could more easily conduct business on both sides of the state line, sometimes within the same building.
Soon though, it became apparent that a road separating the stockyards made it easier to move about to conduct such business. As the cities and their suburbs grew to the south, so did State Line Road. Today, it stretches nearly 14 miles.

Kansas City, Missouri
Kansas City, or K.C., is the largest city, and second largest metropolitan area, in the state of Missouri. It is the 37th–largest city by population in the United States and the 23rd–largest by area. It is the central city of the Kansas City metropolitan area, which straddles the Kansas–Missouri border. It was founded in the 1830s as a Missouri River port at its confluence with the Kansas River coming in from the west. Originally called Kansas after the river, this became confusing upon the establishment of Kansas Territory in 1854. The name Kansas City was assigned to distinguish the two.
Sitting on Missouri's western border, with downtown near the confluence of the Kansas and Missouri Rivers, the modern city encompasses 316 square miles (820 km2). Most of the city is located in Jackson County, but portions of the city spill into Clay, Cass, and Platte counties. It is one of Jackson County's two county seats (the other being Independence). The 18th and Vine Neighborhood gave birth to the musical styles of Kansas City jazz and Kansas City blues. It is also known for Kansas City-style barbecue. The area is infamous for the Border War that occurred during the American Civil War, including the Battle of Westport and Bleeding Kansas. Major suburbs include the Missouri cities of Independence and Lee's Summit and the Kansas cities of Overland Park, Olathe, and Kansas City.
