And is everyone in Maine sick of the tourists?
Wow we’re out here in no man’s land. We could be anywhere. But of course, we know we’re in Maine, because that’s what this video is all about. There aren’t a lot of people in these parts. Maine is the only state in the nation with just one border. This state shares a long border with New Hampshire, but that’s it. It’s actually a much bigger state than you might think - you can fit the other New England states of New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island into Maine.
Maine has the lowest population density of any state east of the Mississippi. There’s a million people here, but most people are south of where we are. But more on that later.
To get a complete understanding of Maine, we need to look at it from a higher level and then explore each region.
This is Maine.
As you can see, there are large areas in the northern part of Maine where things are vast and wide open, and then, closer to the coast and to the south, there’s a lot more going on. But for the people in northern Maine, there’s plenty enough going on. They have everything they need, thank you very much.
We’ll begin over here in the northwest part of Maine. Way up here is really nothing. Outside of Moosehead Lake and It’s woods and a lot of rundown cabins. No that’s mean. There are some teeny tiny little villages with a smattering of folks out here tucked way back into tracts of forest, places that are just about as rural as you’ll find in almost anywhere in the country.
Maine claims to have more woods than any other state. 89% of the state is woods. That’s probably why it got the nickname The Pine Tree State. You could drive back here for three or four hours and hardly see a soul. That’s also why a majority of people in Maine drive Trucks and SUVs and Subarus.
Most of this region is made up of Piscataquis County, which is losing more people than any other county in the state. This county lost 6% of its population over the last decade. Why? Mostly an aging population, more deaths than births, and a loss of net migration. In fact Maine now has the oldest average population of any state in the country.
There’s plenty of places to ski on this side of the state. In the middle of this vast region is Mount Katahdin. While New Hampshire’s Mount Washington may be the called the “Beast of the East,” Mount Katahdin is the largest independent mountain with the most rugged terrain in the Northeast. Crazy people trek up here and cross country ski here. It’s also where the Appalachian Trail begins - or ends - depending on which way you’re going.
Down here in Somerset and Franklin Counties it’s more woods and skiing.

Why buy this off grid lakefront cabin in the Maine Woods? Is your mind ready for a wilderness setting 40+ miles from the nearest shopping center? Are you looking for dark skies at night with an uninhibited view of the galaxy? Step back in time and enjoy the simplicity of lakeside recreation at this off grid lakefront cabin, located on a wilderness lake in Aroostook County, Maine.
The cabin was built pre 1970 with some updates and improvements over the years. The 21’ X 28’ foot print includes the main cabin, the lakeside covered porch and a wood shed/ utility area. This cabin sets about 50 feet from the lakeshore. The building is set on concrete and wood blocks. It is finished on the exterior with cedar shingles. The heat source for the cabin is a wood stove. Lighting, cooking and refrigeration are all LP gas. This is as simple as cabin life can be.
Currently the cabin owner is leasing the land from a local land company. The lease can be transferred to a new owner, or the land company will sell the 1.72± acres with 205± feet of lake frontage. The list price includes the purchase of the land. The land is heavily wooded, and the cabin is surrounded by 100+ year old white pines that provide both shade and privacy.
The land and cabin are located on Wytopitlock Lake in Glenwood, Maine. The lake is 1,152± acres with a maximum depth of 24 feet. The fishing in this lake is primarily warm water species with the occasional wild brook trout. The relatively shallow shore line has a pebble bottom and is a good spot for swimming. This lake has very little developed shoreline and gets very little boat traffic. A boat landing is located on the southern shore of the lake a couple miles from the cabin.
Glenwood is a remote township in south eastern Aroostook County. The last census showed a population of 3. Most of the township is managed forestland owned by just a few landowners. These owners have thus far allowed the public recreational use of their lands.

Happy Fri-yay friends! Here's another video that just came to me. I wasn't planning on putting together a video today, but sometimes the push and drive is so strong that I can't focus on anything else until I finish the video. The funny thing is Moose wasn't being his usual naughty self in the video. He would NOT chew the cord right in front of me like he usually does. And RIGHT after I filmed the clips of him playing with his water he splashed a ton of it out. I feel like I rarely ever capture our cat's being their true selves. Lol. Hope you guys enjoy this video! We can't help but love our cats, even when they're behaving naughty.

Rockport, Maine
Rockport is a town in Knox County, Maine, United States. The population was 3,330 at the 2010 census. Rockport is a popular tourist destination and art colony.
History
Rockport, or "the River" was settled in 1769 by Robert Thorndike. Goose River Village (as it was known until 1852), was originally part of the Megunticook Plantation, incorporated in 1791 as Camden. Shipbuilding, ice harvesting and the manufacture of lime were important early industries. In 1817, 300 casks of lime were sent to Washington, DC for use building the United States Capitol, which had been damaged by the British during the War of 1812. In 1852, the citizens of Goose River voted to change their village's name to Rockport for its rocky terrain. On February 25, 1891, Rockport officially split from Camden because of a dispute over the cost of constructing a bridge. The town of Rockport was born and from Camden it took half the population, three quarters of the land, and most importantly the profitable lime and ice industries.

i/ˈmeɪn/; French: État du Maine) is a state in New England, in the United States. Maine is the 39th most extensive and the 42nd most populous of the 50 U.S. states. It is bordered by New Hampshire to the west, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Quebec to the east and north, respectively. Maine is the northernmost state in the contiguous United States east of the Great Lakes. It is known for its jagged, rocky coastline; low, rolling mountains; heavily forested interior, and picturesque waterways; and also its seafood cuisine, especially lobster and clams. In spite of its maritime position, it has a continental climate even in coastal areas such as its largest city, Portland. The state capital is Augusta with a population of 19,136 (2010), making it the third least-populous state capital (after Montpelier, Vermont and Pierre, South Dakota) in the nation.
For thousands of years, indigenous peoples were the only inhabitants of the territory that is now Maine. At the time of European encounter, several Algonquian-speaking peoples inhabited the area. The first European settlement in Maine was by the French in 1604 on Saint Croix Island, by Pierre Dugua, Sieur de Mons. The first English settlement in Maine, the short-lived Popham Colony, was established by the Plymouth Company in 1607. A number of English settlements were established along the coast of Maine in the 1620s, although the rugged climate, deprivations, and conflict with the local peoples caused many to fail over the years.

6 Naughty Things Maine Coons Do
Happy Fri-yay friends! Here's another video that just came to me. I wasn't planning on putting together a video today, but sometimes the push and drive is so strong that I can't focus on anything else until I finish the video. The funny thing is Moose wasn't being his usual naughty self in the video. He would NOT chew the cord right in front of me like he usually does. And RIGHT after I filmed the clips of him playing with his water he splashed a ton of it out. I feel like I rarely ever capture our cat's being their true selves. Lol. Hope you guys enjoy this video! Wow we’re out here in no man’s land. We could be anywhere. But of course, we know we’re in Maine, because that’s what this video is all about. There aren’t a lot of people in these parts. Maine is the only state in the nation with just one border. This state shares a long border with New Hampshire, but that’s it. It’s actually a much bigger state than you might think - you can fit the other New England states of New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island into Maine.
Maine has the lowest population density of any state east of the Mississippi. There’s a million people here, but most people are south of where we are. But more on that later.
To get a complete understanding of Maine, we need to look at it from a higher level and then explore each region.
This is Maine.
As you can see, there are large areas in the northern part of Maine where things are vast and wide open, and then, closer to the coast and to the south, there’s a lot more going on. But for the people in northern Maine, there’s plenty enough going on. They have everything they need, thank you very much.
We’ll begin over here in the northwest part of Maine. Way up here is really nothing. Outside of Moosehead Lake and It’s woods and a lot of rundown cabins. No that’s mean. There are some teeny tiny little villages with a smattering of folks out here tucked way back into tracts of forest, places that are just about as rural as you’ll find in almost anywhere in the country.
Maine claims to have more woods than any other state. 89% of the state is woods. That’s probably why it got the nickname The Pine Tree State. You could drive back here for three or four hours and hardly see a soul. That’s also why a majority of people in Maine drive Trucks and SUVs and Subarus.
Most of this region is made up of Piscataquis County, which is losing more people than any other county in the state. This county lost 6% of its population over the last decade. Why? Mostly an aging population, more deaths than births, and a loss of net migration. In fact Maine now has the oldest average population of any state in the country.
There’s plenty of places to ski on this side of the state. In the middle of this vast region is Mount Katahdin. While New Hampshire’s Mount Washington may be the called the “Beast of the East,” Mount Katahdin is the largest independent mountain with the most rugged terrain in the Northeast. Crazy people trek up here and cross country ski here. It’s also where the Appalachian Trail begins - or ends - depending on which way you’re going.
Down here in Somerset and Franklin Counties it’s more woods and skiing.

The fishing in this lake is primarily warm water species with the occasional wild brook trout. The relatively shallow shore line has a pebble bottom and is a good spot for swimming. This lake has very little developed shoreline and gets very little boat traffic. A boat landing is located on the southern shore of the lake a couple miles from the cabin.
Glenwood is a remote township in south eastern Aroostook County. The last census showed a population of 3. Most of the township is managed forestland owned by just a few landowners. These owners have thus far allowed the public recreational use of their lands.

Despite the bitterness of the past, Komal is now happily married to Omar and have a seven-year-old daughter together. Komal takes pride in the life that she has built for herself and the way Omar and her in-laws are in her control. However, Komal’s so-called perfect world comes crashing down when she learns about Omar’s alternative life that he has been living for many months. Shocked to see her pride and ego-shattering, Komal chooses to not become a victim and decides to entangle Omar in the web of lies and mental torture.
After Komal’s sense of intricate and complex planning, will she realize the root cause of all her problems? Will she or those around her be able to acknowledge the loneliness that lies within her?

Happy Fri-yay friends! Here's another video that just came to me. I wasn't planning on putting together a video today, but sometimes the push and drive is so strong that I can't focus on anything else until I finish the video. The funny thing is Moose wasn't being his usual naughty self in the video. He would NOT chew the cord right in front of me like he usually does. And RIGHT after I filmed the clips of him playing with his water he splashed a ton of it out. I feel like I rarely ever capture our cat's being their true selves. Lol. Hope you guys enjoy this video! We can't help but love our cats, even when they're behaving naughty.

Does everyone in Maine eat lobster?
Does everyone in Maine have a funny accent?
And is everyone in Maine sick of the tourists?
Wow we’re out here in no man’s land. We could be anywhere. But of course, we know we’re in Maine, because that’s what this video is all about. There aren’t a lot of people in these parts. Maine is the only state in the nation with just one border. This state shares a long border with New Hampshire, but that’s it. It’s actually a much bigger state than you might think - you can fit the other New England states of New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island into Maine.
Maine has the lowest population density of any state east of the Mississippi. There’s a million people here, but most people are south of where we are. But more on that later.
To get a complete understanding of Maine, we need to look at it from a higher level and then explore each region.
This is Maine.
As you can see, there are large areas in the northern part of Maine where things are vast and wide open, and then, closer to the coast and to the south, there’s a lot more going on. But for the people in northern Maine, there’s plenty enough going on. They have everything they need, thank you very much.
We’ll begin over here in the northwest part of Maine. Way up here is really nothing. Outside of Moosehead Lake and It’s woods and a lot of rundown cabins. No that’s mean. There are some teeny tiny little villages with a smattering of folks out here tucked way back into tracts of forest, places that are just about as rural as you’ll find in almost anywhere in the country.
Maine claims to have more woods than any other state. 89% of the state is woods. That’s probably why it got the nickname The Pine Tree State. You could drive back here for three or four hours and hardly see a soul. That’s also why a majority of people in Maine drive Trucks and SUVs and Subarus.
Most of this region is made up of Piscataquis County, which is losing more people than any other county in the state. This county lost 6% of its population over the last decade. Why? Mostly an aging population, more deaths than births, and a loss of net migration. In fact Maine now has the oldest average population of any state in the country.
There’s plenty of places to ski on this side of the state. In the middle of this vast region is Mount Katahdin. While New Hampshire’s Mount Washington may be the called the “Beast of the East,” Mount Katahdin is the largest independent mountain with the most rugged terrain in the Northeast. Crazy people trek up here and cross country ski here. It’s also where the Appalachian Trail begins - or ends - depending on which way you’re going.
Down here in Somerset and Franklin Counties it’s more woods and skiing.

The cabin was built pre 1970 with some updates and improvements over the years. The 21’ X 28’ foot print includes the main cabin, the lakeside covered porch and a wood shed/ utility area. This cabin sets about 50 feet from the lakeshore. The building is set on concrete and wood blocks. It is finished on the exterior with cedar shingles. The heat source for the cabin is a wood stove. Lighting, cooking and refrigeration are all LP gas. This is as simple as cabin life can be.
Currently the cabin owner is leasing the land from a local land company. The lease can be transferred to a new owner, or the land company will sell the 1.72± acres with 205± feet of lake frontage. The list price includes the purchase of the land. The land is heavily wooded, and the cabin is surrounded by 100+ year old white pines that provide both shade and privacy.
The land and cabin are located on Wytopitlock Lake in Glenwood, Maine. The lake is 1,152± acres with a maximum depth of 24 feet. The fishing in this lake is primarily warm water species with the occasional wild brook trout. The relatively shallow shore line has a pebble bottom and is a good spot for swimming. This lake has very little developed shoreline and gets very little boat traffic. A boat landing is located on the southern shore of the lake a couple miles from the cabin.
Glenwood is a remote township in south eastern Aroostook County. The last census showed a population of 3. Most of the township is managed forestland owned by just a few landowners. These owners have thus far allowed the public recreational use of their lands.

Happy Fri-yay friends! Here's another video that just came to me. I wasn't planning on putting together a video today, but sometimes the push and drive is so strong that I can't focus on anything else until I finish the video. The funny thing is Moose wasn't being his usual naughty self in the video. He would NOT chew the cord right in front of me like he usually does. And RIGHT after I filmed the clips of him playing with his water he splashed a ton of it out. I feel like I rarely ever capture our cat's being their true selves. Lol. Hope you guys enjoy this video! We can't help but love our cats, even when they're behaving naughty.

Rockport, Maine
Rockport is a town in Knox County, Maine, United States. The population was 3,330 at the 2010 census. Rockport is a popular tourist destination and art colony.
History
Rockport, or "the River" was settled in 1769 by Robert Thorndike. Goose River Village (as it was known until 1852), was originally part of the Megunticook Plantation, incorporated in 1791 as Camden. Shipbuilding, ice harvesting and the manufacture of lime were important early industries. In 1817, 300 casks of lime were sent to Washington, DC for use building the United States Capitol, which had been damaged by the British during the War of 1812. In 1852, the citizens of Goose River voted to change their village's name to Rockport for its rocky terrain. On February 25, 1891, Rockport officially split from Camden because of a dispute over the cost of constructing a bridge. The town of Rockport was born and from Camden it took half the population, three quarters of the land, and most importantly the profitable lime and ice industries.
