Pressure (play)

Pressure is a play written by David Haig. It made its world premiere at the Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh in May 2014, a year later than originally planned, before transferring to the Chichester Festival at the end of the same month. The play centres on the true story of James Stagg and Operation Overlord, in particular the weather-forecasting for the D-Day landings and the resultant tensions between Dwight D. Eisenhower, James Stagg and Irving P. Krick.

Production history

Pressure is written by playwright and actor David Haig. The play was initially due to make its world premiere in May 2013, before transferring to the Chichester Festival Theatre, with whom the play is co-produced, however was postponed due to difficulty in casting the lead role. On 30 April 2013, it was announced the play would now premiere as part of the Lyceum Theatre's 2013-14 season and would begin previews at the Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh on 1 May 2014, with an official opening night on 6 May, booking for a limited period until 24 May. The play came about after John Dove approached Haig to write the play around two and a half years prior. Haig went on to play the lead role of James Stagg himself, despite having initially intended not to do so over his fears that he could not play “a Scot authentically”. Speaking about playing the role, Haig said that “One thing I am drawing on is people who carry anxiety well camouflaged within an apparently confident exterior. That’s me, but it also happens to be James Stagg. His brusqueness, his efficiency, his professionalism is what came out on the top, but inside he’s extremely anxious about the whole scenario. He goes through a journey in trying to keep it together.”

Billy Ocean (born Leslie Sebastian Charles; 21 January 1950) is a Trinidadian-born English recording artist who had a string of R&B international pop hits in the 1970s and 1980s. He was the most popular British R&B singer-songwriter of the early to mid-1980s. After scoring his first four UK Top 20 successes, seven years passed before he accumulated a series of transatlantic successes, including three U.S. number ones. Landing on Water

Landing on Water is the fifteenth studio album by Canadian musician Neil Young. The album was released on July 28, 1986, by Geffen Records. Several of the songs on the album were resurrected from Neil Young and Crazy Horse's failed 1984 sessions - a set of sessions where, according to longtime producer David Briggs, the musicians "played like monkeys".

Landing on Water came after Young settled out of court with Geffen Records. Geffen sued Young for $3.3 million, on the grounds that Young's mid-'80s records were non-commercial and musically uncharacteristic. Later, David Geffen would personally apologize to Young for the lawsuit and interfering with his work.

Play is the third biggest cellular network in Poland. PLAY uses EGSM 900 and GSM1800 for its 2G services, UMTS 2100 and UMTS 900 for 3G and LTE1800 and LTE2100 for LTE. Its MCC is 260-06. Play (Akdong Musician album)

Play (stylized as PLAY) is the first studio album by South Korean brother-sister duo, Akdong Musician, and their first release since winning K-pop Star 2 the previous year.

Background

On March 31, 2014, YG Entertainment revealed the first teaser picture. On April 1, the second teaser picture was revealed, followed by the album's tracklist on April 2.

Composition

Lee Chanhyuk produced and wrote all the songs on the album. YG Entertainment's CEO Yang Hyun-suk explained,

Promotion and release

The album was digitally released on April 7, 2014. The album, consisting of 11 songs, was released worldwide through iTunes, Melon, Genie, and other online music portals. The physical album hit stores on April 9. The group's first stage comeback was on K-pop Star 3 on April 6. "200%" and "Melted" had been chosen directly as the title tracks, and the third title track, "Give Love", was chosen on April 14 after a round of fan voting. On the day of release, "200%" achieved an all-kill by topping nine top music sites: Melon, Bugs, Mnet, Naver, Daum, Olleh, Soribada, monkey3, and Genie. Many songs on the album also achieved a high ranking on music charts.
