History of Florida Este
Florida Este was founded in 1891 when the Buenos Aires and Rosario Railway opened a station in the section from Belgrano that then reached Bartolomé Mitre, Borges and San Isidro. Some versions state that the station (and subsequently the village) was named "Florida" to commemorate a victory over Spanish army in the Paraje La Florida of Alto Perú on May 25, 1814, during the War of Independence.
The official date of establishment was set by a decree that gave approval to the builder of the railway line to divide tha lands into lots for future sells. The date was set on May 7, 1891. Between 1895 and 1915 the "Compañía de los Ferrocarriles Pobladores" and the French Bank that owned lands in the zone, sold them to families that quickly arrived to the region and settled the area.
The Florida Este station was a point of reunion among the inhabitants of the districts, with the Luis Poggi's general store (located on the corner of San Martín and Fray Justo Sarmiento) as one of the pioneers in the zone. Most of the residential houses grouped near the station, while the country hoses located in current Melo street. Little farms where vegetables were grown, established near Mitre Avenue.
By Municipal Ordinance, Florida was declared "village", in 1907. Six years after, the bishop of La Plata, Juan Terrero, bless a precarious chapel built in lands previously donated by José Antonio Trabucco. The Rossi family donated an image of Virgin Mary sculpted in Carrara marble in Italy. The first priest of the region was Father José A. Coffa, then succeeded by Father Vanini who started works for a construction of the church. The temple, finished in 1931, was named "Nuestra Señora de la Guardia" being the first church in Florida.[1]

Paseo en bici filmado en 4k con sonido natural por el barrio de Florida (este), Vicente Lopez, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Recorriendo desde la Plaza Libertad en la esquina de Italia y Francisco Beiró, cerca de Panamericana (Ruta 9) y Malaver en donde comienza el barrio, hasta la avenida Maipú en donde termina y comienza el barrio de Vicente López (partido homónimo).
Circulo por Italia y una cuadra antes de la gran manzana que ocupa el colegio La Salle doblo por Valle Grande cruzando Hipólito Yrigoyen hasta Arenales.
Por arenales avanzo hasta que se corta a causa de la vía del tren Mitre, doblo por Juan B. Justo hasta San Martín en donde cruzo riesgosamente la barrera. Luego atravieso la plaza pegada a la estación Florida del mencionado tren retomando Juan B. Justo, doblo en Urquiza y por ésta llego hasta la Av. Maipú en donde termina el barrio.
En este último tramo se puede ver el Florida day School, el colegio parroquial Santa Teresita, la parada del 184, hermosos árboles, hermosa gente domingueando y lo más hermoso de todo, el barrio.

Hoy hacemos un recorrido por la historia de la calle Florida, en Buenos Aires.
La calle Florida es una peatonal de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires que comienza en la Avenida Rivadavia y termina en la Plaza General San Martín.
Es reconocida como la calle comercial más importante de la Argentina.
Los inicios de la calle Florida se remontan a la fundación de Buenos Aires cuando representaba un primitivo sendero que subía desde el río.
Las elites argentinas comenzaron a dejar sus residencias al sur de Plaza de Mayo debido principalmente a las epidemias, sobre todo a partir de la de fiebre amarilla de 1871.
Decidieron entonces mudarse a una zona más alta de la ciudad y escogieron los alrededores de Plaza San Martín.
En 1872 se convirtió en una calle comercial. Se instalaron boticas, mueblerías, joyerías y sombrerías que ofrecían lo último en moda Europea.
Ya transformada en una calle netamente comercial, con numerosas galerías y varias casas bancarias en su recorrido, Florida se convirtió definitivamente en vía peatonal en todo su recorrido el 1 de julio de 1971

Florida, Buenos Aires
Florida (officially Florida Este) is a mostly residential barrio of the Vicente López Partido in the northern suburbs of Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is principally a middle-class neighbourhood and is located between the barrios of Olivos and Vicente López, also in the same partido (department).
Location
The city is located between The Autopista Pascual Palazzo (mostly known as "Panamericana" or "Acceso Norte") highway and the Maipú Avenue. The Acceso Norte splits the district into two neighborhoods: Florida Este (from Panamericana to Maipú Avenue) and Florida Oeste (from Panamericana to De los Constituyentes Avenue).
Florida is served by the Mitre Line, which provides easy access to the city of Buenos Aires. Due to the railway lines, Este and Oeste neighborhoods are also called "Florida Mitre" or "Florida Belgrano". Its main commercial area is centered on General San Martín avenue.

Florida (Barcelona Metro)
Florida (Catalan pronunciation: [fɫuˈɾiðə]) is a Barcelona Metro station, in the L'Hospitalet de Llobregat municipality of the Barcelona metropolitan area, and named after the nearby La Florida neighbourhood. The station is served by line L1.
The station is located below the Avinguda Catalunya, between the Carrer Ceravalls and Carrer Mimoses. It has two entrances, from the Placa Blocs Florida and the Avinguda Masnou, which serve an underground ticket hall. The two 98-metre (322 ft) long side platforms are at a lower level.
The station opened in 1987, when line L1 was extended from Torrassa station to Avinguda Carrilet station.

History of Florida Este
Florida Este was founded in 1891 when the Buenos Aires and Rosario Railway opened a station in the section from Belgrano that then reached Bartolomé Mitre, Borges and San Isidro. Some versions state that the station (and subsequently the village) was named "Florida" to commemorate a victory over Spanish army in the Paraje La Florida of Alto Perú on May 25, 1814, during the War of Independence.
The official date of establishment was set by a decree that gave approval to the builder of the railway line to divide tha lands into lots for future sells. The date was set on May 7, 1891. Between 1895 and 1915 the "Compañía de los Ferrocarriles Pobladores" and the French Bank that owned lands in the zone, sold them to families that quickly arrived to the region and settled the area.
The Florida Este station was a point of reunion among the inhabitants of the districts, with the Luis Poggi's general store (located on the corner of San Martín and Fray Justo Sarmiento) as one of the pioneers in the zone. Most of the residential houses grouped near the station, while the country hoses located in current Melo street. Little farms where vegetables were grown, established near Mitre Avenue.
By Municipal Ordinance, Florida was declared "village", in 1907. Six years after, the bishop of La Plata, Juan Terrero, bless a precarious chapel built in lands previously donated by José Antonio Trabucco. The Rossi family donated an image of Virgin Mary sculpted in Carrara marble in Italy. The first priest of the region was Father José A. Coffa, then succeeded by Father Vanini who started works for a construction of the church. The temple, finished in 1931, was named "Nuestra Señora de la Guardia" being the first church in Florida.[1]

Recorriendo desde la Plaza Libertad en la esquina de Italia y Francisco Beiró, cerca de Panamericana (Ruta 9) y Malaver en donde comienza el barrio, hasta la avenida Maipú en donde termina y comienza el barrio de Vicente López (partido homónimo).
Circulo por Italia y una cuadra antes de la gran manzana que ocupa el colegio La Salle doblo por Valle Grande cruzando Hipólito Yrigoyen hasta Arenales.

En este último tramo se puede ver el Florida day School, el colegio parroquial Santa Teresita, la parada del 184, hermosos árboles, hermosa gente domingueando y lo más hermoso de todo, el barrio.

Circulo por Italia y una cuadra antes de la gran manzana que ocupa el colegio La Salle doblo por Valle Grande cruzando Hipólito Yrigoyen hasta Arenales.
Por arenales avanzo hasta que se corta a causa de la vía del tren Mitre, doblo por Juan B. Justo hasta San Martín en donde cruzo riesgosamente la barrera. Luego atravieso la plaza pegada a la estación Florida del mencionado tren retomando Juan B. Justo, doblo en Urquiza y por ésta llego hasta la Av. Maipú en donde termina el barrio.
En este último tramo se puede ver el Florida day School, el colegio parroquial Santa Teresita, la parada del 184, hermosos árboles, hermosa gente domingueando y lo más hermoso de todo, el barrio.

Hoy hacemos un recorrido por la historia de la calle Florida, en Buenos Aires.
La calle Florida es una peatonal de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires que comienza en la Avenida Rivadavia y termina en la Plaza General San Martín.
Es reconocida como la calle comercial más importante de la Argentina.
Los inicios de la calle Florida se remontan a la fundación de Buenos Aires cuando representaba un primitivo sendero que subía desde el río.
Las elites argentinas comenzaron a dejar sus residencias al sur de Plaza de Mayo debido principalmente a las epidemias, sobre todo a partir de la de fiebre amarilla de 1871.
Decidieron entonces mudarse a una zona más alta de la ciudad y escogieron los alrededores de Plaza San Martín.
En 1872 se convirtió en una calle comercial. Se instalaron boticas, mueblerías, joyerías y sombrerías que ofrecían lo último en moda Europea.
Ya transformada en una calle netamente comercial, con numerosas galerías y varias casas bancarias en su recorrido, Florida se convirtió definitivamente en vía peatonal en todo su recorrido el 1 de julio de 1971

History of Florida Este
Florida Este was founded in 1891 when the Buenos Aires and Rosario Railway opened a station in the section from Belgrano that then reached Bartolomé Mitre, Borges and San Isidro. Some versions state that the station (and subsequently the village) was named "Florida" to commemorate a victory over Spanish army in the Paraje La Florida of Alto Perú on May 25, 1814, during the War of Independence.
The official date of establishment was set by a decree that gave approval to the builder of the railway line to divide tha lands into lots for future sells. The date was set on May 7, 1891. Between 1895 and 1915 the "Compañía de los Ferrocarriles Pobladores" and the French Bank that owned lands in the zone, sold them to families that quickly arrived to the region and settled the area.
The Florida Este station was a point of reunion among the inhabitants of the districts, with the Luis Poggi's general store (located on the corner of San Martín and Fray Justo Sarmiento) as one of the pioneers in the zone. Most of the residential houses grouped near the station, while the country hoses located in current Melo street. Little farms where vegetables were grown, established near Mitre Avenue.
By Municipal Ordinance, Florida was declared "village", in 1907. Six years after, the bishop of La Plata, Juan Terrero, bless a precarious chapel built in lands previously donated by José Antonio Trabucco. The Rossi family donated an image of Virgin Mary sculpted in Carrara marble in Italy. The first priest of the region was Father José A. Coffa, then succeeded by Father Vanini who started works for a construction of the church. The temple, finished in 1931, was named "Nuestra Señora de la Guardia" being the first church in Florida.[1]

Hoy hacemos un recorrido por la historia de la calle Florida, en Buenos Aires.
La calle Florida es una peatonal de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires que comienza en la Avenida Rivadavia y termina en la Plaza General San Martín.
Es reconocida como la calle comercial más importante de la Argentina.
Los inicios de la calle Florida se remontan a la fundación de Buenos Aires cuando representaba un primitivo sendero que subía desde el río.
Las elites argentinas comenzaron a dejar sus residencias al sur de Plaza de Mayo debido principalmente a las epidemias, sobre todo a partir de la de fiebre amarilla de 1871.
Decidieron entonces mudarse a una zona más alta de la ciudad y escogieron los alrededores de Plaza San Martín.
En 1872 se convirtió en una calle comercial. Se instalaron boticas, mueblerías, joyerías y sombrerías que ofrecían lo último en moda Europea.
Ya transformada en una calle netamente comercial, con numerosas galerías y varias casas bancarias en su recorrido, Florida se convirtió definitivamente en vía peatonal en todo su recorrido el 1 de julio de 1971

Florida i/ˈflɒrɪdə/ (Spanish for "flowery land") is a state located in the southeastern region of the United States. A peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida, it has the longest coastline in the contiguous United States, approximately 1,350 miles (2,170 km), and is the only state that borders both the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. Much of the state is at or near sea level and is characterized by sedimentary soil. The climate varies from subtropical in the north to tropical in the south. The American alligator, American crocodile, Florida panther, and manatee can be found in the Everglades National Park.
