A gamekeeper (often abbreviated to keeper) is a person who manages an area of countryside to make sure there is enough game for shooting, or fish for angling, and who actively manages areas of woodland, moorland, waterway or farmland for the benefit of game birds, deer, fish and wildlife in general.
Typically, a gamekeeper is employed by a landowner, and often in the UK by a country estate, to prevent poaching, to rear and release game birds such as common pheasants and French partridge, eradicate pests, encourage and manage wild red grouse, and to control predators such as weasels, to manage habitats to suit game, and to monitor the health of the game.
Today, some five thousand full-time gamekeepers are employed in the UK, compared to as many as 10,000 at the beginning of the 20th century. In addition, there are many people who spend their leisure time and money rearing game and maintaining habitats on their own small shoots.
There are several variations in gamekeeping:

The Untold is a 2002 adventure horror film independently produced in Canada written and directed by Jonas Quastel. The SyFy Channel airs it under the title Sasquatch, which is also the title of the English version of the Canadian DVD release. And is also known as Inexplicable under the French version. The film is known under several different titles depending on the date and location of its release. It was first released in France at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2002. It was released on March 11, 2003 in Canada and the United States.
The Untold is the story of Harlan Knowles (Lance Henriksen), billionaire and President of Bio-Comp Industries, who heads up a team of experts in a quest to locate a company plane that disappeared over the remote forests of the Pacific Northwest. Knowles is obsessed with finding the plane and rescuing his daughter (Erica Parker), who was one of its passengers. The assembled team includes local guide Clayton Tyne (Russel Ferrier), renowned wilderness expert and author Winston Burg (Phil Granger) and the beautiful Marla Lawson (Andrea Roth). Soon, the team begins to suspect that Knowles' main objective is actually to recover the prototype of a DNA testing machine called the Huxley Project, which his company has spent years and millions of dollars developing. After finding the plane and its crew torn to shreds, the group tries to piece together clues about what could be responsible for the carnage. With the help of the Huxley prototype they discover they are facing a menace whose very existence is one of the world's greatest mysteries and the only people left to rescue may be themselves.
The Eight Immortals Restaurant: The Untold Story is a 1993 Hong Kong crime-thriller film directed by Herman Yau and starring Danny Lee and Anthony Wong. The film is allegedly based on a true crime that took place in 1985 in Macau.
The film was followed up by two unrelated sequels with The Untold Story 2, featuring Wong returning in a supporting role, and The Untold Story 3 with Stephanie Chan in another supporting role.
The story opens with Wong Chi-hang (Anthony Wong) fleeing the Hong Kong police, who are after him for murder. He winds up in Macau, where he takes a job as a cook at the 8 Immortals restaurant. After getting busted for cheating at a game of Mahjong, Wong kills the owner and the family, taking over the restaurant himself. Meanwhile, the police, led by officer Lee (Danny Lee) are called out to a local beach. It seems that a bag of decomposing body parts has washed ashore.
The police begin to suspect Wong has both something to do with the washed up body parts and the disappearance of the family. Wong continues to gleefully murder any of his employees who suspect what might be going on . . . disposing of their bodies in a most interesting way.

As the sun breaks through the morning mist, we are approaching the solitary house at the foothills of Scottish Highlands where the gamekeeper Tam Cullen live with his wife. It is not too far away from the busy A9 road which connects the Scottish towns of Perth and Inverness but distant enough from any other signs of civilization. The ambient sound of light wind that blows down the slopes of the hills above fills the silence of this chilly morning. Tam suddenly appears in the main door of his farmhouse observing the weather conditions. He is preparing for a deer stalk and he wants to be sure that the weather won't turn bad when he walks up to the hills. Tam knows the moorland and the hills surrounding his farmhouse very well as he lives there for more than 15 years. He moved to the coun...
