Tina Turner (born November 26, 1939), née Anna Mae Bullock, is a singer, dancer, actress, and author, whose career has spanned more than half a century, earning her widespread recognition and numerous awards. Born and raised in the Southeastern United States, she is now a Swiss citizen.
She began her musical career in the mid-1950s as a featured singer with Ike Turner's Kings of Rhythm, first recording in 1958 under the name "Little Ann". Her introduction to the public as Tina Turner began in 1960 as a member of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue. Success followed with a string of notable hits credited to the duo, including "A Fool in Love", "River Deep – Mountain High" (1966), "Proud Mary" (1971) and "Nutbush City Limits" (1973), a song which she herself wrote. In her autobiography, I, Tina, she revealed several instances of severe domestic abuse against her by Ike Turner prior to their 1976 split and subsequent 1978 divorce. Raised as a Baptist, she melded her faith with Buddhism in 1971, crediting the religion and its spiritual chant of Nam Myoho Renge Kyo for helping her to endure during difficult times.

TINA TURNER - "Women In Rock" Documentary 1984 feat. Better Midler, Annie Lennox, Aretha Franklin
This is the song for anti-Valentine's day lovers LOL Tina was more of a "60s rock" icon (read: Woodstock) for many years before she released this classic in 1984. She was already too OLD to be a "pop star" LOL but this one became so big that it's not only a revival of her career, but more like THE MOMENT of her whole career! Nobody expected her to release a tune like this one in '84, and it took a long time to promote it on radio. It almost didn't become a hit, but when it took off, it was sooo huge that Tina got the Grammy "record of the year" for it (I think) in 1985. It didn't stop there. She followed it up with more than 4 top 10 singles!

Featuring Angelique Kidjo
(E. John, T. Rice)
Producer: Jean Hebrail
Album: Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida (99)
This is the moment when the gods expect me
To beg for help but I won't even try
I want nothing in this world but myself to protect me
But I won't lie down, roll over and die
All I have to do is to forget how much I love him
All I have to do is put my longing to one side
Tell myself that love's an ever-changing situation
Passion would have cooled and all the magic would have died
It's easy, it's easy
Until I think about him as he was when I last saw him
And how he would have been were I to be with him today
Tender in his manner and myself consolation
All I ever wanted and I'm throwing it away
It's easy, it's easy as life
All I have to do is to pretend I never knew him
On those very rare occasions when he steals into my heart
Better to have lost him when the ties were barely binding
Better the content of the familiar kind of start
It's easy, it's easy
And though I'll think about him until the earth draws in around me
And though I choose to leave him for another kind of love
This is no denial, no betrayal, but redemption
Redeemed in my allies and in the pantheon above
It's easy, it's easy, it's easy
