Ducks are fast. I have on several occasions had the opportunity to drive alongside ducks flying along a river or stream parallel to the highway and matched my car’s speed to theirs. A duck flying from point A to B, in no particular hurry, cruises along between 40 to 50 miles per hour ... To hit a duck zipping by at that speed takes some doing ... Figures.
