Anthony "Tony" Moran is a two-time Grammy nominated remixer/producer/singer-songwriter and DJ known for remixing popular songs. In 2007, he hit number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart twice with "Walk Away" featuring Kristine W and "Keep Your Body Working" featuring Martha Wash. As a remix producer Moran has worked with top dance/pop artists including Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Neyo, and many others. Other singles as a solo artist is the dance anthem "If I Was Your Boyfriend" performed with Anastacia, and his most recent hit, "Free People", his second hit with Martha Wash, went to number one on the US dance chart.
Moran began his career back in 1981, when he and friend, Albert Cabrera, teamed up. Together they were "The Latin Rascals", whose re-edited versions of hit songs spliced together enjoyed major air-play on New York dance radio WKTU's popular mix show. The radio exposure led to a deal from Shakedown Studios who hired the duo to restructure popular hit radio songs into viable dance club hits. Shortly thereafter, they were contracted by another studio, Fever Records, to write and produce a song for one of their new acts, The Cover Girls. The result was Show Me, a song that not only became Tony Moran's first Top 40 gold record, but also helped to usher in the freestyle era of music. This opened the doors for new artists including TKA, Sa-Fire ("Boy, I've Been Told"), and Lisette Melendez ("Together Forever"), all of whom benefited from the skillful hands of Moran and Cabrera.
Tony Moran (born August 14, 1957) is an American actor and producer. He is remembered for playing the unmasked Michael Myers in the 1978 horror classic Halloween. Since then he has gone on to make guest appearances in television series The Waltons and CHiPs. He is the older brother of actress Erin Moran of Happy Days fame, and actor John Moran.
Tony Moran was a struggling actor before he got the role of Michael Myers in Halloween. At the time he had a job on Hollywood and Vine dressed up as Frankenstein. Moran had the same agent as his sister, Erin, who played Joanie Cunningham on Happy Days. When Moran went to audition for the role of Michael Myers in 1978, he met for an interview with director John Carpenter and producer Irwin Yablans. He later got a call back and was told he had got the part.
Moran was paid $250 for his appearance in Halloween and decided not to return for any of the sequels, although he was paid for his appearance at the beginning of Halloween II, which was a recap of the first film.
I was fortunate enough to be able to not only host Mr. Moran's Q & A panel at Shock Stock this year, but he also allowed us to sit and chat one on one. Truly a man who feels blessed for his life accomplishments. Mighty Memories at Mighty Asia: DJ Tony Moran performs his remix of the song "Put Your Hands Up" featuring Everett Bradley. On January 3, 2009, DJ Tony Moran returned to Asia at Mighty Asia's One World Together party in Bangkok, Thailand. One of many songs I liked was Put Your Hands Up, made by Tony and sung by Everett Bradley. The audio and video footage of Tony's DJ session were both recorded live at the party. It's another one of my fan tribute videos for Tony Moran. Enjoy!
