Join us for a Heritage Tour that lets you experience the sights, sounds, eccentric traditions, music and even the lost tastes of an ancient community.

Many people know the story of the Hartlepool Monkey, which has become an iconic symbol of the town - but it's just one of many of the Headland's many myths and legends. In this 1-hour walking tour you'll hear some of the lesser-known stories of  Old Hartlepool's past as a vibrant, diverse, bustling town whose fortunes were inextricably linked to the sea. You'll even meet  some of its fascinating - sometimes notorious -  residents, as we lift the veil between our world and theirs to catch a glimpse of a rich community that once thrived around the beacon of St Hilda's Church.
