Setesdal is a rock climbing area in Norway - it is a three hours drive west of Oslo and a two hours drive north of Kristiansand. The rock climbing you will find in Setesdal is granite primarily multi-pitch slab climbing, but there are also crack climbing, and a few single pitch sport climbing crags as well as bouldering crags. Being mostly slab, the long multipitch rock climbing routes are varied with both classical structures such as cracks and edges, but also loads crimps.
The landscape in Setesdal is very beautiful with the tall fjells, mountains and long rivers and lakes.
The main towns in the Setesdal valley are Valle and Rysstad. The rock climbing routes are spread around the area, and the mountains in the area has several sectors, which contains multipitch rock climbing routes in most grades - ranging from UIAA grade 3 and 4 to grade 9.
I brought my usual kit to shoot this rock climbing video from our trip to Setesdal in Norway. I brought my Canon G9X, Canon 70D, DJI Spark drone and my GoPro Hero Session.

I tried out a lot with filming and learned a lot this way. Majority of the shots where taken with the LAOWA 7.5mm lens as it was new and i wanted to try it out. I did not use a steadycam on the hikes so the walking footage is a bit shaky.

Einen herzlichen Dank an Tove und Kaja für Ihre Gastfreundschaft. Ich habe diesen Besuch sehr genossen, auch wenn bei der anschliessenden Lektion in Fischen keine Makrele an den Haken ging. Diese beiden Frauen sind ein Synonym für das Friluftsliv. Sie halten das in vielen Videos fest auf ihrem Kanal:

Wunderschöne Trekking-Tour in der eher unbekannten Sirdals- und Setesdalsheiane. Während es in der Setelsdalsheiane eher flach ist mit guten Wegen und schönen Hütten, ist es in der Sirdalsheiane eher gebirgig, steinig und rauher. Auch im Fjell sieht man die Auswirkungen des ungewöhnlich warmen und trockenen Sommers. Viele Sumpfflächen sind trocken, Bäche und Seen kleiner als gewöhnlich. Als positiv kann man bezeichnen, dass sich auch die Mücken bei dieser Trockenheit weniger vermehren konnten. Vor allem der Süden Norwegens leidet unter extremer Trockenheit.

Setesdal
Setesdal (older name: Sætersdal) is a valley and a traditional district in Aust-Agder County in southern Norway. It consists of the municipalities of Bykle, Valle, Bygland, Iveland, and Evje og Hornnes.
The Otra river flows through the valley of Setesdal into the sea near Kristiansand. Setesdal flows from the Hardangervidda plateau in Telemark to the north. The historic Setesdal starts at Evje and extends as far as the farm called Bjåen, at the edge of Telemark county. Øvre (Upper) Setesdal is in the municipality of Bykle. The municipalities of Iveland, Evje & Hornes and Bygland comprise the Nedre (Lower) Setesdal. Valle municipality lies located in middle the Setesdal valley. Norwegian National Road 9 runs through Setesdal.
Etymology
The oldest Norse form of the name was just Setr, and this was later replaced by Setrsdalr ('the dale/valley of Setr'). The common word setr has the meaning 'homestead, farm' - and Setr was probably originally the name of an old, large farm in the central part of Valle. The old farm was then later divided into a lot of smaller parts, but the name survived as the name of the district.

Setesdal is a rock climbing area in Norway - it is a three hours drive west of Oslo and a two hours drive north of Kristiansand. The rock climbing you will find in Setesdal is granite primarily multi-pitch slab climbing, but there are also crack climbing, and a few single pitch sport climbing crags as well as bouldering crags. Being mostly slab, the long multipitch rock climbing routes are varied with both classical structures such as cracks and edges, but also loads crimps.
The landscape in Setesdal is very beautiful with the tall fjells, mountains and long rivers and lakes.
The main towns in the Setesdal valley are Valle and Rysstad. The rock climbing routes are spread around the area, and the mountains in the area has several sectors, which contains multipitch rock climbing routes in most grades - ranging from UIAA grade 3 and 4 to grade 9.
I brought my usual kit to shoot this rock climbing video from our trip to Setesdal in Norway. I brought my Canon G9X, Canon 70D, DJI Spark drone and my GoPro Hero Session.

We were traveling through denmark and norway this summer. This is my second video of this trip. Locations of Setesdal in this video are Byglandsfjord, Valle, Gloppefossen, Sarvsfossen dam, Vatnedalsdammen and Hovden.

I tried out a lot with filming and learned a lot this way. Majority of the shots where taken with the LAOWA 7.5mm lens as it was new and i wanted to try it out. I did not use a steadycam on the hikes so the walking footage is a bit shaky.

Einen herzlichen Dank an Tove und Kaja für Ihre Gastfreundschaft. Ich habe diesen Besuch sehr genossen, auch wenn bei der anschliessenden Lektion in Fischen keine Makrele an den Haken ging. Wunderschöne Trekking-Tour in der eher unbekannten Sirdals- und Setesdalsheiane. Während es in der Setelsdalsheiane eher flach ist mit guten Wegen und schönen Hütten, ist es in der Sirdalsheiane eher gebirgig, steinig und rauher. Auch im Fjell sieht man die Auswirkungen des ungewöhnlich warmen und trockenen Sommers. Viele Sumpfflächen sind trocken, Bäche und Seen kleiner als gewöhnlich. Als positiv kann man bezeichnen, dass sich auch die Mücken bei dieser Trockenheit weniger vermehren konnten. Vor allem der Süden Norwegens leidet unter extremer Trockenheit.

Setesdal
Setesdal (older name: Sætersdal) is a valley and a traditional district in Aust-Agder County in southern Norway. It consists of the municipalities of Bykle, Valle, Bygland, Iveland, and Evje og Hornnes.
The Otra river flows through the valley of Setesdal into the sea near Kristiansand. Setesdal flows from the Hardangervidda plateau in Telemark to the north. The historic Setesdal starts at Evje and extends as far as the farm called Bjåen, at the edge of Telemark county. Øvre (Upper) Setesdal is in the municipality of Bykle. The municipalities of Iveland, Evje & Hornes and Bygland comprise the Nedre (Lower) Setesdal. Valle municipality lies located in middle the Setesdal valley. Norwegian National Road 9 runs through Setesdal.
Etymology
The oldest Norse form of the name was just Setr, and this was later replaced by Setrsdalr ('the dale/valley of Setr'). The common word setr has the meaning 'homestead, farm' - and Setr was probably originally the name of an old, large farm in the central part of Valle. The old farm was then later divided into a lot of smaller parts, but the name survived as the name of the district.
