It’s a weird descriptor for such a disturbing tale, but it was just the right word for why I return to that film, and others cut from the same chilling cloth.

I am impressed by all of David Gordon Green's work, but "Halloween Kills" is not at the top of my must-see list ... "Phantasm" film (1979) ... By the time John Carpenter's "Halloween" appeared in 1978, I had figured out that supernatural slasher films were not my favorite kind of movies.
