Navy UFO Videos In April of this year, U.S. defense officials declassified three grainy videos filmed by Navy pilots, depicting midair military encounters with UFOs. Fighter pilots acknowledged “unidentified aerial phenomena” that we refer to as UFOs. Some of you maybe already knew this, since the UFO research group To the Stars Academy of Arts and Science leaked the clips without official permission a few years ago. 9. CHERNOBYL DOCUMENTS The Chernobyl disaster of 1986, is widely considered the worst nuclear disaster ever to occur. Caused by the explosion of a nuclear reactor at a power plant in Pripyat, Ukraine it led to an uncontrolled radioactive release into the environment. A few dozen people died as a direct result of the accident, while thousands more languished for weeks, months, or longer with the effects of radiation poisoning. 8. The Aquiline Project In early August, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) declassified documents from Project Aquiline, a Cold War era mission to develop a fleet of 12 nuclear-powered bird-shaped robotic spy planes. The unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s), or drones, would constitute the CIA’s first uncrewed intelligence collection platform. 7. UFOs in Scotland Recently declassified documents were released by the United States Central Intelligence Agency reporting a mysterious incident in Scotland. In 1957 radar tracked a UFO which “dove and circled” between 14,000 and 60,000 feet high. 6. OSAMA BIN LADEN FILES In an effort to demonstrate transparency and enhance the general public’s understanding of Al-Qaeda, in late 2017 the CIA released a treasure trove of 470,000 files obtained during the May 2011 raid of Osama Bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. Authorized by CIA Director Mike Pompeo, it was the fourth declassification of documents relating to the raid, building on previous releases by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) in 2015, 2016, and early 2017. 5. Non-Proliferation Treaty Documents Earlier this year, an international agreement called the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) saw the 50th anniversary of its entry into force. To mark the occasion, the treaty’s three depository governments -- the U.S., the United Kingdom, and Russia -- declassified a collection of documents related to negotiations surrounding the agreement. 4. CROSSFIRE HURRICANE Opened in 2016, “Crossfire Hurricane” was an FBI investigation into four Trump campaign associates who were suspected of colluding with Russia to interfere with the upcoming presidential election. 3. Russian Pandemic Propaganda In a purported attempt to influence the upcoming U.S. presidential election, Russian intelligence workers are allegedly using at least three websites to spread disinformation to Americans about the coronavirus pandemic, according to recently declassified intelligence reports. 2. ‘Animal Farm’ Propaganda Published just days after World War II officially ended in 1945, George Orwell’s “Animal Farm” is a widely known satire on Soviet Communism detailing a group of animals who overthrow their owner in hopes of creating a happy and equal society, only to end up suffering under a more brutal and oppressive regime. The story, which recently celebrated its 75th anniversary, is a play on the 1917 Russian Revolution and Stalin’s subsequent rise to power. 1. Karshi-Khanabad (k2) Documents U.S. Department of Defense documents released in early July reveal that American troops were exposed to dangerous chemicals and radiation at an airbase in southeastern Uzbekistan, which may have caused increased cancer rates among service members stationed there.
