LIM-49 Spartan

The LIM-49A Spartan was a United States Army anti-ballistic missile, designed to intercept attacking nuclear warheads from Intercontinental ballistic missiles at long range and while still outside the atmosphere. For deployment, a defensive five-megaton atomic warhead was planned to destroy the incoming ICBM. It was part of the Safeguard Program.

Spartan was the ultimate development in a long series of missile designs from the team of Bell Laboratories and Douglas Aircraft Company that started in the 1940s with the Nike. Spartan was developed directly from the preceding LIM-49 Nike Zeus, retaining the same tri-service identifier, but growing larger and longer ranged, from the Zeus' 250 miles (400 km) to about 450 miles (720 km).

Spartan was initially developed as part of the Nike-X project, later becoming the Sentinel Program. This was eventually cancelled and replaced with the much smaller Safeguard Program. Spartans were deployed as part of the Safeguard system from October 1975 to early 1976.

Spartan is a 2004 American political thriller film written and directed by David Mamet. It features Val Kilmer, Derek Luke, Tia Texada, Ed O'Neill, William H. Macy, and Kristen Bell. It was released in the United States and Canada on 12 March 2004.

Plot

Robert Scott is a former Force Recon Master Gunnery Sergeant, acting as a selection cadre member for Delta Force. While observing an exercise designed to evaluate Delta candidates, Scott meets a recruit, Curtis, as well as Sergeant Jacqueline Black, a knife-fighting instructor.

Scott is drawn into a clandestine operation to find Laura Newton, the President's daughter, who is missing. Their search takes them to a bar where girls are recruited as prostitutes, and Scott's team follows a middleman to a bordello that funnels some of these girls to an international sex slavery ring. The madam gives them a contact number leading to a pay phone.

Calls placed to the pay phone are traced back to Tariq Asani, a Lebanese national currently in federal prison. They plan to intercept Asani during a prisoner transport and gain information from him about the sex trafficking operation.

Fabio Lanzoni

Fabio Lanzoni (Italian pronunciation: [ˈfaːbjo lanˈtsoːni]; born 15 March 1959), most widely known by the mononym Fabio, is an Italian fashion model, spokesman, and actor, who appeared on the covers of dozens of romance novels throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

Fabio starred in the syndicated TV series Acapulco H.E.A.T. as the role of Claudio. He was also featured in calendars, led a fragrance campaign for Mediterraneum by Versace, and landed a role in commercials for "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!". He appeared in "The Bold and the Beautiful" a number of times, as a close friend of the character Sally Spectra (Fabio and the late Darlene Conley, who played Sally, were close friends in real life). He appeared in one episode of Step by Step called "Absolutely Fabio". Fabio has also appeared on the two Nickelodeon television series Ned's Declassified and Big Time Rush. In 2010, he played the character Captain Hawk in an episode of The Suite Life on Deck called "Senior Ditch Day". He has also cameoed in the films Dude, Where's My Car?, Spy Hard and Zoolander.

Fitzroy Heslop, known by his stage name of Fabio, is a British drum and bass DJ and producer. Fabio has been described as one of the best DJs of all time. He runs the Creative Source record label.

Biography

Fabio has been at the forefront of the dance/rave scene for over two decades. Starting his career as a pirate radio DJ in the mid 80s and joining together with longtime DJ partner Grooverider, the pair happened to be in the right place at the right time when acid house exploded across London and the UK. Fabio and Grooverider are sometimes referred to as the "gruesome twosome".

Spinning early house music then championing darker, more bass heavy rave music which went on to become known as jungle and drum and bass, alongside Grooverider the duo have remained the leaders of the genre for over 20 years. Fabio is considered to be the godfather of drum and bass music for being one of the early pioneers in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Fabio is credited with pioneering the subgenre known as liquid funk as well as coining the name.
