Mura Masa is back, but the future bass pop crossover doesn't sound quite the same. He's got a new emphasis on guitars and songwriting, and he tapped up-and-coming folk-popper Clairo to give his new vibe wings. The single is called "I Don't Think I Can Do This Again," and it's the first from a forthcoming second album.
The song was released alongside a psychedelic music video, directed by Thomas Hardiman, that features Clairo and some twisted humans romping through back field farmland.
"I Don't Think I Can Do This Again" plays mostly sweet, with some brown-note sour. It's like the chorus hits with the realization that things in your life aren't going so well. The heavy-synth bass hook is wildly reminiscent of the iconic lick from Gary Numan's "M.E.," famously sampled by Basement Jaxx "Where's Your Head At."
