Rome, Italy 🇮🇹 - September 2021 - 4K-HDR Walking Tour (▶114min)

Rome is my favorite city in the world. Why? Because it’s the perfect blend of history and the modern world. It has it all- beautiful historical sites, amazing shops and of course; the perfect pizzas ever.
So here’s my experience of Rome and why it’s soo awesome:
1) The people
Italian hospitality is unbeatable. The Italians treat you like long lost buddies right from the moment you first meet. The hotel staff are extra nice and attend to your complaints within seconds. But the best about Italians is the way they speak. Their language comes out like a sweet song. It so adorbs that I wouldn’t be able to guess even if they were swearing at me.
2) The food
If you think you have eaten the best Italian food ever in your own countries, you’re gravely mistaken my friend. The best Italian food comes from the source…which would be Italy in this case (well obviously). These Italian restaurants/cafe’s serve the most scrumptious ravioli, epic mouth-watering risottos and pizzas to die for. I would make a trip back to Rome simply for the food if I could.
3) The historical significance
Rome’s history is divided into two parts. The Roman Empire and Medieval history. The architecture of each era is spread out into two distinct areas. The walk to the Colosseum is one of the most enchanting walks I have ever taken. There are ancient relics on either side of the pathway adding to the charm. The Medieval historical sites give off a very “Game of Thrones vibe.
4) The Vatican
This mini-city on its own would make a trip to Rome worth-it. The Vatican some of the most beautiful frescos ever in the Sistine Chapel. You will find hundreds of tour guides right outside the Vatican who will give you a tour of the church and museum. Just make sure that you don’t get ripped off!
5) The shopping
Milan is technically a major fashion capital but Rome isn’t far behind. The shopping here is marvelous from boutique brands to mainstream brands. There’s a Zara store that’s four stories high (I spent around two hours there I think). After a day of hard-core shopping you can relax in a nice spot, having street-made square pizzas and watch the sun setting over the beautiful historical ruins. Bliss!

Bliss!
Fun Fact: The Trevi Fountain– a must see site- has magical powers. Apparently whoever puts a coin in there is sure to come back to Rome one day. My mom put the coin twice and has visited Rome twice ever since. I put it as well and I sure do hope to go again someday!

Bliss!
Fun Fact: The Trevi Fountain– a must see site- has magical powers. Apparently whoever puts a coin in there is sure to come back to Rome one day. My mom put the coin twice and has visited Rome twice ever since. I put it as well and I sure do hope to go again someday!

Italy Pavilion - Monica's Epcot World Showcase Tour
Take a peak inside the Italy Pavilion on Monica's Epcot World Showcase Tour. Like the United Kingdom Pavilion, it doesn't have a ride. However, there is a Venetian charm to the Italy Pavilion that you can't get anywhere else in the world (except perhaps in Venice!). This Italian theming, shopping, and authentic food is a don't miss inside a replica of St. Mark's Square in Venice complete with a smaller version of St. Mark's Tower. In fact, Monica's favorite restaurant in Epcot is Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria. Their dedication to authentic Italian cuisine goes so far that they import their flour from Italy and chemically alter the water to match the pH levels found in Naples. It all pays off in tremendously great Italian food. The Italian Pavilion is also home to Tutto Italia Ristorante...

Epcot's World Showcase Italy Pavilion Tour
The Italy Pavilion is an Italian-themed pavilion that is part of the World Showcase, within Epcot at Walt Disney World. The Italy Pavilion features a plaza surrounded by a collection of buildings evocative of Venetian, Florentine, and Roman architecture. Venetian architecture is represented by a re-creation of St Mark's Campanile (bell tower) and a replica of the Doge's Palace. The pavilion's design is inspired by other hallmarks of Italian architecture, such as the Columns of San Marco and San Todaro, the Ponte della Paglia, Neptune Fountain (reminiscent of Rome's Trevi Fountain) and the Il Bel Cristallo shop (meant to resemble the exterior of the Sistine Chapel). Musicians, clowns, and acting troupes often appear in the piazza throughout the day. There are also small shops selling Italia...

The Italian Pavilion is also home to Tutto Italia Ristorante. For some great shopping, be sure to check out La Gemma Elegante in a building modeled after the Doge's Palace in Venice.

There are also small shops selling Italian goods, such as candy and wine.
The original plans for the pavilion called for an expansion that would be built in Epcot's "Phase II" of construction, thus leaving a wall with nothing behind it at the rear of the pavilion. The expansion would have included a gondola dark ride and a Roman ruins walk-through. When "Phase II" was canceled, the pavilion was left incomplete. However, a restaurant by the name of Via Napoli, designed by the Florentine architects Stefano Nardini and Raffaella Melucci, opened under the Patina Restaurant Group in 2010, and brought the pavilion its long-awaited completion. It features Florentine architecture and authentic Neapolitan cuisine. The water used to make pizza dough is imported from Pennsylvania to simulate authentic Neapolitan dough. Via Napoli's three wood burning ovens pay tribute to the three active volcanoes in Italy: Etna, Vesuvio, and Stromboli. To do this, each of the three ovens are sculpted in the shape of the face of the god that their corresponding volcano is named after. The long communal table in the center of the room was built in Florence and features hand painted tiles depicting iconic monuments in Italy. Other notable features of Via Napoli are its high and vaulted ceilings, imported ceramics, and blown glass, and the abundance of windows that flood the establishment with natural light.

There are also small shops selling Italian goods, such as candy and wine.

This is an overview of the Italy Pavilion at Epcot. Located in between the Germany and American Adventure Pavilion, Italy is one of the most quaint pavilions in all of World Showcase. However, it still has some wonderful shopping, entertainment and of course dining options.
The pavilion features not one but two table service restaurants and a full wine bar, which includes one of Disney World's most extensive wine menus on property. The pavilion also has three stores offering a wide variety of merchandise and a wine shop where guests can sample some Italian wines.
Unlike many World Showcase pavilions, Italy really focuses on the city of Venice when it comes to its architecture. Disney's replica of the bell tower at St. Mark's Square is huge and one of the few icons that can easily be seen from around the lagoon. In front of the tower, is a small island symbolizing the beautiful canals of Venice and is one of the most picturesque corners of World Showcase with a great view of Spaceship Earth.
