Bride

A bride is a woman about to be married or newlywed. Nowadays, bride can be used as an interjection in a complete sentence with the definition of "before" or "pre". In Western culture, a bride may be attended by one or more bridesmaids

Etymology

The word may come from the Proto-Germanic verb root *brū-, meaning 'to cook, brew, or make a broth,' which was the role of the daughter-in-law in primitive families. But Aoife Curran, in Ireland Legends And Folklore, suggests that the word "bride" may be named for Saint Brigit.

Attire

In Europe and North America, the typical attire for a bride is a formal dress and a veil. Usually, in the "white wedding" model, the bride's dress is bought specifically for the wedding, and is not in a style that could be worn for any subsequent events. Previously, until at least the middle of the 19th century, the bride generally wore her best dress, whatever color it was, or if the bride was well-off, she ordered a new dress in her favorite color and expected to wear it again.

Brides (2004 film)

Brides (Greek: Νύφες, translit. Nyfes) is a 2004 Greek film directed by Pantelis Voulgaris. The film stars Victoria Haralabidou and Damian Lewis, and the photography is by Giorgos Arvanitis. Set in 1922, is the story of a mail order bride, one of 700, aboard the SS King Alexander, who falls in love with an American photographer. She is bound for her new husband, in Chicago, he is on his way home to a failed marriage. The film was entered into the 27th Moscow International Film Festival.

The film was supported by Martin Scorsese, who is credited as executive producer.

Brides (2014 film)

Brides (Georgian: პატარძლები; transliterated Patardzlebi) is a 2014 Georgian-French film directed by Tinatin Kajrishvili. and produced by Gemini, Millimeter Films and ADASTRA Films.

In her feature film debut Tinatin Kajrishvili shows the daily routine of a woman wose partner is in prison. The film is about human dignity and the repressive judicial system in Georgia.

The film had its world premiere at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival in the Panorama section and won the 3rd Place Panorama Audience Award – Fiction Film 2014. It has also been selected for the official competition (World Narrative Competition) of Tribeca Film Festival. Main actress Mari Kitia received the Special Jury Prize for Best Actress at the Sarajevo Film festival, and the movie was given 3 awards at the Scarborough Worldwide Film Festival, including the Outstanding Directorial Achievement Award.

The film was supported by the Georgian National Film Center and the French National Center of Cinematography and the moving image.

Beechcraft Bonanza

The Beechcraft Bonanza is an American general aviation aircraft introduced in 1947 by Beech Aircraft Corporation of Wichita, Kansas. The six-seater, single-engine aircraft is still being produced by Beechcraft and has been in continuous production longer than any other airplane in history. More than 17,000 Bonanzas of all variants have been built, produced in both distinctive V-tail as well as conventional tail configurations.

Design and development

At the end of World War II, two all-metal light aircraft emerged, the Model 35 Bonanza and the Cessna 195, that represented very different approaches to the premium-end of the postwar civil aviation market. With its high wing, seven-cylinder radial engine, fixed tailwheel undercarriage and roll-down side windows, the Cessna 195 was little more than a continuation of prewar technology; the 35 Bonanza, however, was more like the fighters developed during the war, featuring an easier-to-manage horizontally-opposed six cylinder engine, a rakishly streamlined shape, retractable nosewheel undercarriage (although the nosewheel initially was not steerable, but castering) and low-wing configuration.

Hoss Wright

David "Hoss" Wright is an American drummer who has played for The Exies, and Nick Oliveri and the Mondo Generator. While part of Mondo Generator, he wrote some songs for the album Dead Planet with Nick Oliveri. His musical career began around the time he was 13 in Richmond, Virginia. He was a member of the local band Black Widow and he was the drummer of the band "JUD" based in Los Angeles.
