I want to spend this NYE with you and also the EVANTSON FIRST NIGHT crowd – we will offer each other big hugs and have the time of our lives together (after all, that's what music is for). Joining us for some amazing presentations will be the whole Chamber Blues ensemble, jazz saxophone icon Ernie Watts and bodacious diva Lynne Jordan.
This will be a 95-minute celebration with wild blues harmonica, piano, and songs about unity, corn, justice, bridges, lies, potatoes, love, and finally an explanation of "the song that no-one knows” – Auld Lang Syne - all with front row seats from the comfort of your home
My 77 year career sees its culmination in my most creative period as Mother Nature has sent me to my room (along with everyone else). None of this production could have happened on stage. This is not a concert, it’s not a music video, and though it’s more like a movie, it’s not a movie. This will be a hoot and a perfect way to leave 2020 behind and welcome the new year with its challenges but also with special opportunities to bring kindness into the world.
Just as if this were a concert venue you have the opportunity to purchase a ticket -- as income is a natural part of the "give and take" that helps keep music alive.

I'm still in the dark ages. I bought the vinyl off Ebay I believe. Ripped it with "Spin Doctor" on my PC downstairs that has Windows ME. I then loaded it into "GoldWave" and split up the tracks. I used Windows Movie Maker on my PC upstairs with a Vista operating system to create a .wma file. I then uploaded it to my YouTube account and will post a link in my FB status update. Corky, I hope you're OK with this. I have gotten some requests to put this up. It was just a matter of finding the time. My kids absolutely loved "Morning Corn" when they were little. You helped to create a very fond memory. Thanks, Kunchcar Whaleboy

It was in 1966 that Seiji Ozawa wanted to bring the blues style of the Siegel-Schwall Band onto the symphonic stage. Corky Siegel has been bringing blues to classical music ever since (see Chamber Blues). This clip is from a 1971 PBS "Great Performances" presentation with Arthur Fiedler, Boston Pops, and Siegel-Schwall performing a clip of William Russo's Three Pieces for Blues Band and Symphony. Siegel-Schwall was formed in 1965 and this is the eairlest known video of the group.

Corky Siegel
Mark Paul "Corky" Siegel (born October 24, 1943) is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and composer. He plays harmonica and piano. He plays and writes blues and blues-rock music, and has also worked extensively on combining blues and classical music. He is best known as the co-leader of the Siegel-Schwall Band, and as the leader of the Chamber Blues group.
Musical career
Corky Siegel's professional music career began in 1964, when he met guitarist Jim Schwall. Both were studying music at Roosevelt University in Chicago. The two became a duo, performing blues music. They landed a regular gig at Pepper's Lounge, where well known, established blues musicians such as Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Willie Dixon would often sit in. After a while the duo became a quartet, the Siegel-Schwall Band.
The Siegel-Schwall Band enjoyed increasing popularity, and by 1967 were touring nationally, playing at large rock venues like the Fillmore West and sharing the bill with famous rock bands. Between 1966 and 1974, they released ten albums. After 1974, they stopped playing concerts, but the band re-formed in 1987. They still play occasional live dates and have released two albums of new material. The band currently features drummer Sam Lay and bassist Rollo Radford; Lay played with Siegel in the Happy Year Band of 1973 which also featured Chicago blues guitarist Albert Joseph.

I'm still in the dark ages. I bought the vinyl off Ebay I believe. Ripped it with "Spin Doctor" on my PC downstairs that has Windows ME. I then loaded it into "GoldWave" and split up the tracks. I used Windows Movie Maker on my PC upstairs with a Vista operating system to create a .wma file. I then uploaded it to my YouTube account and will post a link in my FB status update. Corky, I hope you're OK with this. I have gotten some requests to put this up. It was just a matter of finding the time. My kids absolutely loved "Morning Corn" when they were little. You helped to create a very fond memory. Thanks, Kunchcar Whaleboy

We will do a sing-along of Auld Lang Syne at midnight with Ernie and Lynne.
I want to spend this NYE with you and also the EVANTSON FIRST NIGHT crowd – we will offer each other big hugs and have the time of our lives together (after all, that's what music is for). Joining us for some amazing presentations will be the whole Chamber Blues ensemble, jazz saxophone icon Ernie Watts and bodacious diva Lynne Jordan.
This will be a 95-minute celebration with wild blues harmonica, piano, and songs about unity, corn, justice, bridges, lies, potatoes, love, and finally an explanation of "the song that no-one knows” – Auld Lang Syne - all with front row seats from the comfort of your home
My 77 year career sees its culmination in my most creative period as Mother Nature has sent me to my room (along with everyone else). None of this production could have happened on stage. This is not a concert, it’s not a music video, and though it’s more like a movie, it’s not a movie. This will be a hoot and a perfect way to leave 2020 behind and welcome the new year with its challenges but also with special opportunities to bring kindness into the world.
Just as if this were a concert venue you have the opportunity to purchase a ticket -- as income is a natural part of the "give and take" that helps keep music alive.

Corky Siegel
Mark Paul "Corky" Siegel (born October 24, 1943) is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and composer. He plays harmonica and piano. He plays and writes blues and blues-rock music, and has also worked extensively on combining blues and classical music. He is best known as the co-leader of the Siegel-Schwall Band, and as the leader of the Chamber Blues group.
Musical career
Corky Siegel's professional music career began in 1964, when he met guitarist Jim Schwall. Both were studying music at Roosevelt University in Chicago. The two became a duo, performing blues music. They landed a regular gig at Pepper's Lounge, where well known, established blues musicians such as Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Willie Dixon would often sit in. After a while the duo became a quartet, the Siegel-Schwall Band.
The Siegel-Schwall Band enjoyed increasing popularity, and by 1967 were touring nationally, playing at large rock venues like the Fillmore West and sharing the bill with famous rock bands. Between 1966 and 1974, they released ten albums. After 1974, they stopped playing concerts, but the band re-formed in 1987. They still play occasional live dates and have released two albums of new material. The band currently features drummer Sam Lay and bassist Rollo Radford; Lay played with Siegel in the Happy Year Band of 1973 which also featured Chicago blues guitarist Albert Joseph.
