Quotes:
Oliver Poe: [spots the recently divorced Benson's with their respective dates, at his standing room only nightclub, dressed like hippies] Well, look who just came in... split-city. I think I'll go over and deflate some egos.::Laverne Baker: Now, Oliver, don't cause any trouble.::Oliver Poe: [with glee] Me? Trouble? Preposterous!::Oliver Poe: [walks over to Benson's table] Who are you supposed to be Sambo's mother?::Frank Benson: Look Flabberino, why don't you leave and make room for like six more tables?::Oliver Poe: Sold any mud, lately? Well, well, well. One big happy family. I don't get it. [points to the ex-Mrs. Benson] You're with him. [points to Lois' breasts] And he's with those... I mean, her.::Frank Benson: Back up Moby Dick, how would you like your flab parted in the front, too.::Oliver Poe: I'm getting out of here before I punch a senior citizen in the snoot.
Oliver Poe: [sees that Baba Ziba offers his employee the star suite] I don't understand, you're giving a menial the star dressing room?::The Baba Ziba: It is written that when the most humble enjoy the fruit then the wealthy become richer giving energy to those with all the benevolence upo,n and therefore to substantiate gives them the up-liberty for we, and the development of those that the umbilical upon those who we, and therefore many times over.::Oliver Poe: Superior wisdom... from a superior mind. [rolls his eyes in disbelief]
Frank Benson: Oh, I believe you know, Lois.::Elaine Benson: [stares at Lois' huge breasts] If I didn't, I certainly do know.::Lois Grey: Well, it's nothing you couldn't buy.
Lois Grey: Mrs. Benson, you're husband is a very attractive man, but just for the record I'm not in the habit of meeting a gentleman in his office at one o'clock and sleeping with him in his bed at three thirty.::Elaine Benson: I never accused you of sleeping with a gentleman.
Frank Benson: [meeting Poe for the first time in church] I'm in real estate.::Oliver Poe: But not deep enough. I have a horrible feeling we've met before. Does 7719 Hillside Drive mean anything to you?::Frank Benson: Isn't that a three bedroom, hillside colonial with patio, wet bar, and over-sized bay window? Nothing personal.::Oliver Poe: Tee-hee. You forgot to mention the hill in the back and the guaranteed retaining wall.::Frank Benson: Yeah, well... I sell so many, I forget the details.::Oliver Poe: Twenty thousand tons of mud in a swimming isn't exactly a detail! [grabs Benson's arm] The house was on a hill until it rained then the hill was on the house. [shouts] That was twenty years ago and they're still digging to find the backyard.::Frank Benson: Lower your voice, Poe. This is a church not a street corner.::Oliver Poe: Don't look down your nose at me you pompous, pious, prick. If I had known she was your daughter we wouldn't be standing here in two rented mummy suits waiting to sacrifice two nice kids on the alter of same ancient fertility rite.
Oliver Poe: [smoking a cigarette in church] I'm the victim's father.::Reverend Dempster: [greeting Laverne] This must be Mrs. Poe.::Oliver Poe: No, but she's auditioning.
David Poe: Oliver, Nancy and I are going to get married.::Nancy Benson: We love each other, Mr. Poe.::Oliver Poe: That's Victorian bourgeois. I'll prove it you. [calls mistress on speaker phone] Laverne, are we sleeping together?::Laverne Baker: Yes, Oliver.::Oliver Poe: Do we love each other? Are we married?::Laverne Baker: Yes, dear. No, dear.::Oliver Poe: [disconnects speaker phone] Case closed.
No, dear.::Oliver Poe: [disconnects speaker phone] Case closed.::David Poe: Nancy's parents are married.::Nancy Benson: [pleading] They've been happy for nineteen years!::Oliver Poe: [sarcastic] They're freaks.
Oliver Poe: [taking phone call from Pevney] I got your offer. It's an insult for such a distinguished musical group like The Post-Nasal Drip. However, you can look at the Uncollected Trash, the Five Commandments, the Kumquats, the Horny Toads, or the Slime Benders.::Pevney: Are they any good?::Oliver Poe: They haven't taken a bath in three months.
Oliver Poe: [enters office followed by auditioning hippy band, removes his ear plugs, and points to studio room door] What idiot group is in here?::Poe's Secretary: The new one, The Comfortable Chair.::Oliver Poe: I got to get me one of those. [enters studio room] Wait a minute! What are you doing? Number one it sounds like music. I understand every word you're saying. Come on get with it!

Some music ensembles consist solely of instruments, such as the jazz quartet or the orchestra. Some music ensembles consist solely of singers, such as choirs and doo wop groups. In both popular music and classical music, there are ensembles in which both instrumentalists and singers perform, such as the rock band or the Baroque chamber group for basso continuo (harpsichord and cello) and one or more singers. In classical music, trios or quartets either blend the sounds of musical instrument families (such as piano, strings, and wind instruments) or group together instruments from the same instrument family, such as string ensembles (e.g., string quartet) or wind ensembles (e.g., wind quintet). Some ensembles blend the sounds of a variety of instrument families, such as the orchestra, which uses a string section, brass instruments, woodwinds and percussion instruments, or the concert band, which uses brass, woodwinds and percussion.
In jazz ensembles, the instruments typically include wind instruments (one or more saxophones, trumpets, etc.), one or two chordal "comping" instruments (electric guitar, piano, or Hammond organ), a bass instrument (bass guitar or double bass), and a drummer or percussionist. Jazz ensembles may be solely instrumental, or they may consist of a group of instruments accompanying one or more singers. In rock and pop ensembles, usually called rock bands or pop bands, there are usually guitars and keyboards (piano, electric piano, Hammond organ, synthesizer, etc.), one or more singers, and a rhythm section made up of a bass guitar and drum kit.
Music ensembles typically have a leader. In jazz bands, rock and pop groups and similar ensembles, this is the band leader. In classical music, orchestras, concert bands and choirs are led by a conductor. In orchestra, the concertmaster (principal first violin player) is the instrumentalist leader of the orchestra. In orchestras, the individual sections also have leaders, typically called the "principal" of the section (e.g., the leader of the viola section is called the "principal viola"). Conductors are also used in jazz big bands and in some very large rock or pop ensembles (e.g., a rock concert that includes a string section, a horn section and a choir which are accompanying a rock band's performance).

Faran Ensemble is a three player group, who joined each other in a
spiritual quest, expressed in music and sounds.
It has been years now that these players have deeply engaged themselves in studying the musical instruments and the theory of music with the best teachers in the country and abroad.
The instruments played originate from esoteric and ancient traditions of the East.
KAMANTCHE is an ancient musical instrument whose origins are
rooted in
Azerbaijan.
OUD, one of the most ancient string instruments, is found anywhere it is customary to have very strong and dark tea in a small cup.
The Percussion which have been in use since the first human heartbeat.
The ensemble members grew up and come from different places,
backgrounds and sceneries.
From the very dry desert to the luscious green through the hectic noisy city sounds. The composed works reflect all of
these as they were composed together by the four ensemble members.
Both the composition-works and the musicians are deeply influenced by the Eastern musical system called 'Maqam' .
Maqam in translation means all at once a physical place in the musical scale, the fingers' placing on the strings and the melody which expresses this. But more than that, 'Maqam' refers to a meditative place. A state that the player must be attended so the music will be played as it should be.
In ancient cultures each Maqam has its own particular hour in the day, season and a specific ceremonial connection.
Faran, is a dry desert wadi, which fills with water and life only in rainy winters; and in the hot season, otherwise silent.
It crosses Israel on its way from Sinai, ignoring all borders.
Music for us is a journey.
