Are you thinking of studying in Bangor University? Here are 3 reasons why moving to Bangor might not be for you. Basically, these are the facts that I would have loved to know before moving to Bangor, Wales myself. It's my personal opinion, but one can't deny that some places in Bangor are old and shabby, the weather is dull and then the hills.

This is my eighth vlog. I included footage of some pretty sunsets, a time-lapse of Snowdonia mountains, unboxing the christmas present that my dad sent me, containing a ton of gingerbread cookies, risalamande, Danish history books, quince tea and a wok! As I had exams, I also included some footage of revision for my zoology exams. We also celebrated Mango's birthday and went house hunting for student accommodation.

Bangor (English /ˈbæŋɡər/; Welsh: [ˈbaŋɡɔr]) is a city in Gwynedd unitary authority, north west Wales, and one of the smallest cities in Britain. Historically in Caernarfonshire, it is a university city with a population of 18,808 at the 2011 census, including around 10,000 students at Bangor University and including Pentir community. It is one of only six places classed as a city in Wales, although it is only the 36th-largest urban area by population. According to the 2001 census, 46.6% of the non-student resident population speak Welsh, which is low for Gwynedd but despite this, the language keeps a high profile in town.
History
The origins of the city date back to the founding of a monastic establishment on the site of Bangor Cathedral by the Celtic saint Deiniol in the early 6th century AD. Bangor itself is an old Welsh word for a wattled enclosure, such as the one that originally surrounded the cathedral site. The present cathedral is a somewhat more recent building and has been extensively modified throughout the centuries.

Bangor (from Irish: Beannchar [ˈbʲaːn̪ˠəxaɾˠ]) is a large town in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is a seaside resort on the southern side of Belfast Lough and within the Belfast Metropolitan Area. In 2007 the town was voted by UTV viewers as the most desirable place to live in Northern Ireland. It functions as a commuter town for the Greater Belfast area, which it is linked to by the A2 road and a direct railway line, usually known as the Bangor Line. Bangor is situated 13.6 miles (22 km) east from the heart of Belfast, not far from George Best Belfast City Airport.
Bangor is part of the North Down area. Tourism is important to the local economy, particularly in the summer months, and plans are being made for the long-delayed redevelopment of the seafront; a notable historical building in the town is Bangor Old Custom House. The largest plot of private land in the area, the Clandeboye Estate, which is located a few miles from the town centre, belongs to the Marchioness of Dufferin and Ava. Bangor hosts the Royal Ulster and Ballyholme Yacht clubs. Bangor Marina is one of the largest in both Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland, and holds Blue Flag status. The town is twinned with Bregenz in Austria and Virginia Beach in the United States.

Basically, these are the facts that I would have loved to know before moving to Bangor, Wales myself. It's my personal opinion, but one can't deny that some places in Bangor are old and shabby, the weather is dull and then the hills.

This is my eighth vlog. I included footage of some pretty sunsets, a time-lapse of Snowdonia mountains, unboxing the christmas present that my dad sent me, containing a ton of gingerbread cookies, risalamande, Danish history books, quince tea and a wok! As I had exams, I also included some footage of revision for my zoology exams. We also celebrated Mango's birthday and went house hunting for student accommodation.
