Big news of the day is the S&P500; and Nasdaq didn’t renew record yesterday. But the US equities still recorded their seventh straight monthly advance in August, which is the strongest winning streak since January 2018, and the S&P500; beat its 53rd record at Monday’s close: not bad at all given that we don’t only have good news on the wire.
A correction? Not just yet. For now, the overall market holds on to its gains and no one dares saying ‘the king is naked’.
Today, the US ADP data and Fed’s Bostic’s speech will be closely monitored. But, the bulls will probably read what they want to read and hear what they want to hear in data. And even if it’s not the case, they will probably rapidly get over any unpleasant news to carry the rally higher, because a misstep could have dramatic consequences.
In commodities, US crude remains a touch below $70pb into the OPEC meeting. OPEC is expected to stick to the production revival plan, but Saudis already warned that OPEC could well pause or reverse their unwinding of output curbs in the coming year. So what’s next for oil?

Saudi-led plan to extend a deal capping oil production triggers a dispute between two OPEC heavyweights.
In a rare public spat between the Gulf state allies, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have found themselves at loggerheads over an OPEC plan that seeks to extend a cap on oil production.
Saudi Arabia has led a push in OPEC to raise output by some 2 million barrels per day from August to December 2021 but extend remaining cuts to the end of 2022.

OPEC or the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries supplies over 40% of the world’s oil and possesses a staggering 80% of total reserves
Headquartered in Vienna, a location chosen for its neutrality. OPEC’s alleged purposes include coordinating the policies of its 13 member countries, ensuring the stabilisation of oil markets, a steady supply to consumers and perhaps most importantly providing a steady income and fair return on capital.
Over the years, the biggest problem businesses, consumers and governments alike have had, is that it acts as a cartel. Manipulating the production of oil amongst its members to influence global prices. Something it has achieved through a variety of methods; including quotas, price bandings and even secret output formulas.
The way the cartel operates isn’t new to the sector though. You see, before OPEC there were the infamous Seven Sisters. Referring to Seven western oil companies which by and large controlled world oil output.

OPEC
Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC, /ˈoʊpɛk/ OH-pek) is an intergovernmental organization of 13 petroleum-exporting nations, founded in 1960 by the first five members, and headquartered since 1965 in Vienna, Austria. The 13 countries account for 40% of global oil production and 73% of the world's "proven" oil reserves, making OPEC a major influence on global oil prices.
OPEC's stated mission is "to coordinate and unify the petroleum policies of its member countries and ensure the stabilization of oil markets, in order to secure an efficient, economic and regular supply of petroleum to consumers, a steady income to producers, and a fair return on capital for those investing in the petroleum industry." As of 2016, OPEC's members are Algeria, Angola, Ecuador, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia (the de facto leader), United Arab Emirates, and Venezuela. Two-thirds of OPEC's oil production and reserves are in its six Middle Eastern countries that surround the oil-rich Persian Gulf.

Big news of the day is the S&P500; and Nasdaq didn’t renew record yesterday. But the US equities still recorded their seventh straight monthly advance in August, which is the strongest winning streak since January 2018, and the S&P500; beat its 53rd record at Monday’s close: not bad at all given that we don’t only have good news on the wire.
A correction? Not just yet. For now, the overall market holds on to its gains and no one dares saying ‘the king is naked’.
Today, the US ADP data and Fed’s Bostic’s speech will be closely monitored. But, the bulls will probably read what they want to read and hear what they want to hear in data. And even if it’s not the case, they will probably rapidly get over any unpleasant news to carry the rally higher, because a misstep could have dramatic consequences.

Headquartered in Vienna, a location chosen for its neutrality. OPEC’s alleged purposes include coordinating the policies of its 13 member countries, ensuring the stabilisation of oil markets, a steady supply to consumers and perhaps most importantly providing a steady income and fair return on capital.
Over the years, the biggest problem businesses, consumers and governments alike have had, is that it acts as a cartel. Manipulating the production of oil amongst its members to influence global prices. Something it has achieved through a variety of methods; including quotas, price bandings and even secret output formulas.
The way the cartel operates isn’t new to the sector though. You see, before OPEC there were the infamous Seven Sisters. Referring to Seven western oil companies which by and large controlled world oil output.

OPEC or the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries supplies over 40% of the world’s oil and possesses a staggering 80% of total reserves
Headquartered in Vienna, a location chosen for its neutrality. OPEC’s alleged purposes include coordinating the policies of its 13 member countries, ensuring the stabilisation of oil markets, a steady supply to consumers and perhaps most importantly providing a steady income and fair return on capital.
Over the years, the biggest problem businesses, consumers and governments alike have had, is that it acts as a cartel. Manipulating the production of oil amongst its members to influence global prices. Something it has achieved through a variety of methods; including quotas, price bandings and even secret output formulas.
The way the cartel operates isn’t new to the sector though. You see, before OPEC there were the infamous Seven Sisters. Referring to Seven western oil companies which by and large controlled world oil output.

OPEC
Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC, /ˈoʊpɛk/ OH-pek) is an intergovernmental organization of 13 petroleum-exporting nations, founded in 1960 by the first five members, and headquartered since 1965 in Vienna, Austria. The 13 countries account for 40% of global oil production and 73% of the world's "proven" oil reserves, making OPEC a major influence on global oil prices.
OPEC's stated mission is "to coordinate and unify the petroleum policies of its member countries and ensure the stabilization of oil markets, in order to secure an efficient, economic and regular supply of petroleum to consumers, a steady income to producers, and a fair return on capital for those investing in the petroleum industry." As of 2016, OPEC's members are Algeria, Angola, Ecuador, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia (the de facto leader), United Arab Emirates, and Venezuela. Two-thirds of OPEC's oil production and reserves are in its six Middle Eastern countries that surround the oil-rich Persian Gulf.
