Richard Allen Hunt (16 June 1937 – 22 March 2009) was an American mathematician. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 1965 with a dissertation entitled Operators acting on Lorentz Spaces. An important result of Hunt (1968) states that the Fourier expansion of a function in Lp, p > 1, converges almost everywhere. The case p=2 is due to Lennart Carleson, and for this reason the general result is called the Carleson-Hunt theorem. Hunt was the 1969 recipient of the Salem Prize.
Richard Hunt (born 1951, Kwakwaka'wakw, formerly "Kwakiutl") is a Canadian First Nations artist from coastal British Columbia.
Hunt was born in 1951 at Alert Bay, B.C., but has lived most of his life in Victoria, B.C. On his father's side, he is a descendant of the renowned Native ethnologist George Hunt. He began carving at the age of thirteen. In 1973 he began carving with his father Henry Hunt at Thunderbird Park at the British Columbia Provincial Museum in Victoria.
Richard's maternal grandfather was the artist Mungo Martin. His brothers Tony and Stanley Hunt are also carvers.
Richard Hunt designed the medals for the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships held Aug. 17-21, 2006 at Saanich Commonwealth Place. Among his other projects, he repainted the totem pole at Rideau Hall, which his grandfather Mungo Martin had given to Governor General Lord Alexander in 1946.
In 1991, Hunt was inducted into the Order of British Columbia. He is also a member of the Order of Canada.
Richard Hunt (August 17, 1951 – January 7, 1992) was an American puppeteer, best known as a Muppet performer. Hunt's Muppet roles included Scooter, Statler, Janice, Beaker and Sweetums.
Hunt was born in The Bronx, New York City on August 17, 1951, the second of five children. The family eventually moved to Closter, New Jersey some years later.
Because everyone in his family had worked in show business at some point, Hunt always felt he would end up in entertainment as well. While in middle school and high school, he put on puppet shows for local children, and he was a fan of the then-fledgling Muppets from a young age. After high school graduation and a four-month stint of doing weather reports at a local radio station, Hunt pursued a meeting with Jim Henson.
After being hired to work on Sesame Street, Hunt mostly performed background characters in early specials. One of his first major performances was as Taminella Grinderfall in The Frog Prince, puppeteering the character while Jerry Juhl performed the voice.

I decided to go ahead and make my Richard Hunt Tribute early because as of yesterday, December 1st, marks World AIDS Day, dedicating those who lost their lives to the disease of AIDS. One of the victims is Richard Hunt, one of the well-known puppeteers of the Muppets. He performed Sweetums (TMS), one of the two-headed monsters (SS), Guy Smiley (SS), Janice (TMS), Scooter (TMS), Beaker (TMS), Gladys Cow (SS), Statler (TMS), and many more. He also performed as a cameo actor like in Ghost Busters (don't ask me which one I'm assuming the first). He died two years after Jim Henson did in 1992. We will miss you Richard. Your memories will treasure all of us forever and ever. Richard Hunt 8/17/1951 - 1/7/1992 All artwork belongs to their rightful owners. Song: "I Will Remember You" by Sarah Mc...
