The announcement by Barbados that it plans to abolish the monarchy and become a republic has again raised the question of whether the other 15 countries around the world that continue to have the British Queen Elizabeth II as their head of state - the Commonwealth Realms - will follow suit.

In addition to the United Kingdom, there are currently fifteen other countries that have Queen Elizabeth II as head of state. These are Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu. In addition, another 18 independent countries retained the British monarch as their head of state for a period after independence. However, it has been almost 30 years since the last country abolished the monarchy: Mauritius in 1992. So, why is this happening now? Why is Is it all about having a resident head of state? Or was China behind it, as some have suggested? And will others follow?

This is a plenary lecture by Professor Murphy entitled 'Time Come? The Persistence and Future of the Commonwealth Realms', which was prepared for the conference on 'The Crown in the 21st Century', which took place in Government House in Victoria, Canada from 14-16 January 2016.
Unforeseen circumstances meant that Professor Murphy was not able to attend the conference in person. In the lecture, he seeks to explain why so few Commonwealth Realms have made the transition to republics over the previous 40 years, examining the constitutional and political obstacles in the way of republicanism.

Commonwealth of Nations
The Commonwealth of Nations, normally known as the Commonwealth,[3] and historically the British Commonwealth, is a unique political association of 53 member states, nearly all of them former territories of the British Empire.The chief institutions of the organisation are the Commonwealth Secretariat, which focuses on intergovernmental aspects, and the Commonwealth Foundation, which focuses on non-governmental relations between member states.
The Commonwealth dates back to the first half of the 20th century with the decolonisation of the British Empire through increased self-governance of its territories. It was originally created as the British Commonwealth of Nations[6] through the Balfour Declaration at the 1926 Imperial Conference, and formalised by the United Kingdom through the Statute of Westminster in 1931. The current Commonwealth of Nations was formally constituted by the London Declaration in 1949, which modernised the community, and established the member states as "free and equal".
The human symbol of this free association is the Head of the Commonwealth, currently Queen Elizabeth II, and the 2018 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting appointed Charles, Prince of Wales to be her designated successor, although the position is not technically hereditary. The Queen is the head of state of 16 member states, known as the Commonwealth realms, while 32 other members are republics and five others have different monarchs.
Member states have no legal obligations to one another. Instead, they are united by English language, history, culture and their shared values of democracy, human rights and the rule of law.These values are enshrined in the Commonwealth Charter and promoted by the quadrennial Commonwealth Games.
The countries of the Commonwealth cover more than 29,958,050 km2 (11,566,870 sq mi), equivalent to 20% of the world's land area, and span all six inhabited continents.

Queen Elizabeth II is also the reigning monarch of the Commonwealth realms, a group of 16 independent nations, including Canada and Australia.

Reveille, from the French 'réveiller' meaning 'wake up' is the bugle call that awakens soldiers at dawn. There are different versions of the call for many national armies. This is the traditional tune for the Commonwealth Realms, e.g., Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. Although sometimes also played at military ceremonies the 'Rouse', often called 'Short Reveille', is normally used.

Kenya (/ˈkɛnjə/; locally [ˈkɛɲa]), officially the Republic of Kenya, is a country in Africa and a founding member of the East African Community (EAC). Its capital and largest city is Nairobi. Kenya's territory lies on the equator and overlies the East African Rift covering a diverse and expansive terrain that extends roughly from Lake Victoria to Lake Turkana (formerly called Lake Rudolf) and further south-east to the Indian Ocean. It is bordered by Tanzania to the south, Uganda to the west, South Sudan to the north-west, Ethiopia to the north and Somalia to the north-east. Kenya covers 581,309 km2 (224,445 sq mi), and had a population of approximately 45 million people in July 2014.
Kenya has a warm and humid tropical climate on its Indian Ocean coastline. The climate is cooler in the savannah grasslands around the capital city, Nairobi, and especially closer to Mount Kenya, which has snow permanently on its peaks. Further inland, in the Nyanza region, there is a hot and dry climate which becomes humid around Lake Victoria, the largest tropical fresh-water lake in the world. This gives way to temperate and forested hilly areas in the neighboring western region. The north-eastern regions along the border with Somalia and Ethiopia are arid and semi-arid areas with near-desert landscapes. Kenya is known for its safaris, diverse climate and geography, and expansive wildlife reserves and national parks such as the East and West Tsavo National Park, the Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru National Park, and Aberdares National Park. Kenya has several world heritage sites such as Lamu and numerous beaches, including in Diani, Bamburi and Kilifi, where international yachting competitions are held every year.

Kenya (Commonwealth realm)
The Commonwealth realm of Kenya, officially known as "Kenya", was a predecessor to the modern-day Republic of Kenya. It existed between 12 December 1963 and 12 December 1964.
When British rule ended in 1963, the Kenya Colony was given independence as a Commonwealth realm in which form the state existed until the proclamation of the Republic of Kenya came into existence on 12 December 1964. During this time, the British monarch (Elizabeth II) remained head of state. Kenya shared the Sovereign with the other Commonwealth realms. The monarch's constitutional roles were mostly delegated to the Governor-General of Kenya:

Jonti Picking
Jonathan "Jonti" Picking (born 17 May 1975), otherwise known as Weebl or Mr. Weebl, is a British Internet personality and flash animator and is the creator of Weebl's Stuff.
His movies are known for repetitive melodies and surreal dialogue; The majority feature a catchy tune with silly lyrics, which is paired with a looping flash animation. He does most of the voices in his animations himself, and several feature himself in live action, including "Haricots Verts", "Chutney", "Boogie", "CAMRA", "Stockmarket", "We Are Mature", "Tangerine" the Weebl and Bob episodes "DJ" and "Safety", the fourth On The Moon episode, and "Jazzmas". He has also worked with other animators on YouTube, such as Edd Gould in the video "Nuts [Weebl]".
Picking is a trained sound engineer and artist, and has also worked on 3D visual effects for the movie Resident Evil. In 2003, he made several advertisements for Anchor Butter in the style of his Weebl and Bob animations, but featuring cows. These were broadcast in the UK. The television program Totally Viral on UKTV G2, consisting of video clips and cartoons from the internet, has an animated title sequence and links made by Jonti. Jonti set up his own production company called Sumo Dojo, which he has since left to set up Weebl's Stuff Limited, also known as Weebl Ltd. Picking married Sarah Darling (a radio presenter on the station Xfm) on 31 March 2007. On 23 December 2008, Picking announced his wife's pregnancy on the official Weebl's Stuff forums. On 13 July 2009, Picking's wife gave birth to a baby girl.

The film attempts to get at the story behind that conviction, which many believed resulted in a grossly unfair sentence. After having accepted that Jose has lost in court, they had hoped to fight the verdict; Jose's defense did file and lose several appeals. These are Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu. In addition, another 18 independent countries retained the British monarch as their head of state for a period after independence. However, it has been almost 30 years since the last country abolished the monarchy: Mauritius in 1992. So, why is this happening now? Why is Is it all about having a resident head of state? Or was China behind it, as some have suggested? And will others follow?

Commonwealth of Nations
The Commonwealth of Nations, normally known as the Commonwealth,[3] and historically the British Commonwealth, is a unique political association of 53 member states, nearly all of them former territories of the British Empire.The chief institutions of the organisation are the Commonwealth Secretariat, which focuses on intergovernmental aspects, and the Commonwealth Foundation, which focuses on non-governmental relations between member states.
The Commonwealth dates back to the first half of the 20th century with the decolonisation of the British Empire through increased self-governance of its territories. It was originally created as the British Commonwealth of Nations[6] through the Balfour Declaration at the 1926 Imperial Conference, and formalised by the United Kingdom through the Statute of Westminster in 1931. The current Commonwealth of Nations was formally constituted by the London Declaration in 1949, which modernised the community, and established the member states as "free and equal".
The human symbol of this free association is the Head of the Commonwealth, currently Queen Elizabeth II, and the 2018 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting appointed Charles, Prince of Wales to be her designated successor, although the position is not technically hereditary. The Queen is the head of state of 16 member states, known as the Commonwealth realms, while 32 other members are republics and five others have different monarchs.
Member states have no legal obligations to one another. Instead, they are united by English language, history, culture and their shared values of democracy, human rights and the rule of law.These values are enshrined in the Commonwealth Charter and promoted by the quadrennial Commonwealth Games.
The countries of the Commonwealth cover more than 29,958,050 km2 (11,566,870 sq mi), equivalent to 20% of the world's land area, and span all six inhabited continents.

While western countries have more travel Freedom than African countries, there are a few African countries with powerful passports such as Mauritius, Seychelles and South Africa which permits its citizens to travel freely around the World without Visas. Most African Passports are weak giving its citizens less options when it comes to travel freedom. Though the Kenyan passport might not be the strongest in Africa, it however gives its citizens the freedom to travel to some countries both within and out of Africa without Visas.

Kenyans can travel to a total of 70 countries both visa free and visa upon arrival, So, without any further ado, these are the visa free countries for Kenyan passport holders.
1. Singapore
Officially the Republic of Singapore, it is a sovereign island city-state in Southeast Asia. The country is situated about 137 kilometers north of the equator, at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, with Indonesia's Riau Islands to the south and Peninsular Malaysia to the north. Singapore's territory consists of one main island along with 58 other islets. Its current population is estimated at 5.6million people and its GPD is 372billion dollars giving it a per capital income of 65,627dollars. Holders of the Kenyan passports can travel to Singapore for 30days visa free.
Malaysia
Malaysia is a country in Southeast Asia. The federal constitutional monarchy consists of 13 states and three federal territories, separated by the South China Sea into two similarly sized regions, Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia (Malaysian Borneo). Peninsular Malaysia shares a land and maritime border with Thailand and maritime borders with Singapore, Vietnam, and Indonesia. With a population of over 30 million, Malaysia has a GDP of 373billion dollars and per capita income of 32,501 dollars. Holders of the Kenyan passport can travel to Malaysia 30days visa free
Saint Kitts and Nevis
Also known as the Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis, it is an island country in the West Indies. Hello Displorers, welcome back to another exciting video and Thanks for watching. In today’s Video we shall be presenting all the visa free countries for Kenyan Passport holders. While western countries have more travel Freedom than African countries, there are a few African countries with powerful passports such as Mauritius, Seychelles and South Africa which permits its citizens to travel freely around the World without Visas. Most African Passports are weak giving its citizens less options when it comes to travel freedom. Though the Kenyan passport might not be the strongest in Africa, it however gives its citizens the freedom to travel to some countries both within and out of Africa without Visas.

Kenyans can travel to a total of 70 countries both visa free and visa upon arrival, So, without any further ado, these are the visa free countries for Kenyan passport holders.
1. Singapore
Officially the Republic of Singapore, it is a sovereign island city-state in Southeast Asia. The country is situated about 137 kilometers north of the equator, at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, with Indonesia's Riau Islands to the south and Peninsular Malaysia to the north. Singapore's territory consists of one main island along with 58 other islets. Its current population is estimated at 5.6million people and its GPD is 372billion dollars giving it a per capital income of 65,627dollars. Holders of the Kenyan passports can travel to Singapore for 30days visa free.
Malaysia
Malaysia is a country in Southeast Asia. The federal constitutional monarchy consists of 13 states and three federal territories, separated by the South China Sea into two similarly sized regions, Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia (Malaysian Borneo). Peninsular Malaysia shares a land and maritime border with Thailand and maritime borders with Singapore, Vietnam, and Indonesia. With a population of over 30 million, Malaysia has a GDP of 373billion dollars and per capita income of 32,501 dollars. Holders of the Kenyan passport can travel to Malaysia 30days visa free
Saint Kitts and Nevis
Also known as the Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis, it is an island country in the West Indies. Located in the Leeward Islands chain of the Lesser Antilles, it is the smallest sovereign state in the Western Hemisphere, in both area and population. The country is a Commonwealth realm, with Elizabeth II as queen and head of state. The capital city is Basseterre on the larger island of Saint Kitts. The smaller island of Nevis lies approximately 3 km to the southeast across a shallow channel called The Narrows.

In addition to the United Kingdom, there are currently fifteen other countries that have Queen Elizabeth II as head of state. These are Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu. In addition, another 18 independent countries retained the British monarch as their head of state for a period after independence. However, it has been almost 30 years since the last country abolished the monarchy: Mauritius in 1992. So, why is this happening now? Why is Is it all about having a resident head of state? Or was China behind it, as some have suggested? And will others follow?

This is a plenary lecture by Professor Murphy entitled 'Time Come? The Persistence and Future of the Commonwealth Realms', which was prepared for the conference on 'The Crown in the 21st Century', which took place in Government House in Victoria, Canada from 14-16 January 2016.
Unforeseen circumstances meant that Professor Murphy was not able to attend the conference in person. In the lecture, he seeks to explain why so few Commonwealth Realms have made the transition to republics over the previous 40 years, examining the constitutional and political obstacles in the way of republicanism.

Commonwealth of Nations
The Commonwealth of Nations, normally known as the Commonwealth,[3] and historically the British Commonwealth, is a unique political association of 53 member states, nearly all of them former territories of the British Empire.The chief institutions of the organisation are the Commonwealth Secretariat, which focuses on intergovernmental aspects, and the Commonwealth Foundation, which focuses on non-governmental relations between member states.
The Commonwealth dates back to the first half of the 20th century with the decolonisation of the British Empire through increased self-governance of its territories. It was originally created as the British Commonwealth of Nations[6] through the Balfour Declaration at the 1926 Imperial Conference, and formalised by the United Kingdom through the Statute of Westminster in 1931. The current Commonwealth of Nations was formally constituted by the London Declaration in 1949, which modernised the community, and established the member states as "free and equal".
The human symbol of this free association is the Head of the Commonwealth, currently Queen Elizabeth II, and the 2018 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting appointed Charles, Prince of Wales to be her designated successor, although the position is not technically hereditary. The Queen is the head of state of 16 member states, known as the Commonwealth realms, while 32 other members are republics and five others have different monarchs.
Member states have no legal obligations to one another. Instead, they are united by English language, history, culture and their shared values of democracy, human rights and the rule of law.These values are enshrined in the Commonwealth Charter and promoted by the quadrennial Commonwealth Games.
The countries of the Commonwealth cover more than 29,958,050 km2 (11,566,870 sq mi), equivalent to 20% of the world's land area, and span all six inhabited continents.

The isles of Guernsey and Jersey are not part of the Uk, but are Crown Dependecies. There are also 14 Overseas Territories that are not part of the Kingdom, but are under its jurisdiction. Queen Elizabeth II is also the reigning monarch of the Commonwealth realms, a group of 16 independent nations, including Canada and Australia.

The Commonwealth of Nations is a voluntary association of 53 independent and sovereign states (one of whose membership is currently suspended). Most are former British colonies or dependencies of these colonies.
No one government in the Commonwealth exercises power over the others as is the case in a political union. Rather, the relationship is one of an international organisation through which countries with diverse social, political, and economic backgrounds are regarded as equal in status and cooperate within a framework of common values and goals as outlined in the Singapore Declaration issued in 1971. Such common values and goals include the promotion of democracy, human rights, good governance, the rule of law, individual liberty, egalitarianism, free trade, multilateralism, and world peace which are carried out through multilateral projects and meetings which include the Commonwealth Games held once every four years.

While western countries have more travel Freedom than African countries, there are a few African countries with powerful passports such as Mauritius, Seychelles and South Africa which permits its citizens to travel freely around the World without Visas. Most African Passports are weak giving its citizens less options when it comes to travel freedom. Though the Kenyan passport might not be the strongest in Africa, it however gives its citizens the freedom to travel to some countries both within and out of Africa without Visas.

Kenyans can travel to a total of 70 countries both visa free and visa upon arrival, So, without any further ado, these are the visa free countries for Kenyan passport holders.
1. Singapore
Officially the Republic of Singapore, it is a sovereign island city-state in Southeast Asia. The country is situated about 137 kilometers north of the equator, at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, with Indonesia's Riau Islands to the south and Peninsular Malaysia to the north. Singapore's territory consists of one main island along with 58 other islets. Its current population is estimated at 5.6million people and its GPD is 372billion dollars giving it a per capital income of 65,627dollars. Holders of the Kenyan passports can travel to Singapore for 30days visa free.
Malaysia
Malaysia is a country in Southeast Asia. The federal constitutional monarchy consists of 13 states and three federal territories, separated by the South China Sea into two similarly sized regions, Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia (Malaysian Borneo). Peninsular Malaysia shares a land and maritime border with Thailand and maritime borders with Singapore, Vietnam, and Indonesia. With a population of over 30 million, Malaysia has a GDP of 373billion dollars and per capita income of 32,501 dollars. Holders of the Kenyan passport can travel to Malaysia 30days visa free
Saint Kitts and Nevis
Also known as the Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis, it is an island country in the West Indies. Located in the Leeward Islands chain of the Lesser Antilles, it is the smallest sovereign state in the Western Hemisphere, in both area and population. The country is a Commonwealth realm, with Elizabeth II as queen and head of state. The capital city is Basseterre on the larger island of Saint Kitts. The smaller island of Nevis lies approximately 3 km to the southeast across a shallow channel called The Narrows.

The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago is the southernmost island country in the Caribbean. Consisting of the main islands Trinidad and Tobago, and numerous much smaller islands, it is situated 130 km south of Grenada and 11 km off the coast of northeastern Venezuela. It shares maritime boundaries with Barbados to the northeast, Grenada to the northwest, Guyana to the southeast, and Venezuela to the south and west

known officially as the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. The Bahamas is a country within the Lucayan Archipelago, in the West Indies. The archipelagic state consists of more than 700 islands, cays, and islets in the Atlantic Ocean. The capital is Nassau on the island of New Providence. The Royal Bahamas Defense Force describes The Bahamas' territory as encompassing 470,000 km2 of ocean space. It has a population of about 390.000 people and a GDP of 12.6 Billion Dollars

Barbados is an island country in the Lesser Antilles of the West Indies, in the Caribbean region of North America. It is 34 kilometers in length and up to 23 km in width, covering an area of 432 km2. Further inland, in the Nyanza region, there is a hot and dry climate which becomes humid around Lake Victoria, the largest tropical fresh-water lake in the world. This gives way to temperate and forested hilly areas in the neighboring western region. The north-eastern regions along the border with Somalia and Ethiopia are arid and semi-arid areas with near-desert landscapes. Kenya is known for its safaris, diverse climate and geography, and expansive wildlife reserves and national parks such as the East and West Tsavo National Park, the Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru National Park, and Aberdares National Park. Kenya has several world heritage sites such as Lamu and numerous beaches, including in Diani, Bamburi and Kilifi, where international yachting competitions are held every year.
