Ranch-Style Home
Constructed in 2013, this ranch-style home has 2,208 square feet of climate controlled living space with an additional 1,020 square foot unfinished basement. The 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom home features a spacious and open floor plan with an eat-in kitchen which opens to the living room. The large kitchen features hickory cabinets and wood laminate flooring. The living room, trimmed in alder, features a Mendota propane fireplace framed with a Realstone surround and hearth and 2 large picture windows—providing abundant ambient light and spectacular views of the Tongue Creek Valley and Grand Mesa to the north. A walk-in pantry is located just off of the kitchen and adjacent to a large laundry/mudroom—with ample space for coats and boots. The main-floor master bedroom features a propane fireplace and private entrance to a covered outdoor patio which overlooks the backyard garden. A jack-and-jill bathroom connects the remaining 2 bedrooms. The 2-car garage is has fully finished walls and ceilings with a PolyMax wainscotting and is insulated. Equestrian Barn With Trainer’s Apartment
This Colorado horse property is for the serious equestrian hobbyist or professional horse trainer. The centerpiece of the property is the structural steel framed barn facility. The inside of this building features a dressage sized 70’ x 140’ indoor horseback riding arena. The indoor arena has a 3-rail, welded pipe perimeter fence with a wood-shaving and dirt floor which provides excellent footing. Adjacent to the the arena is a 12’ x 18’ isolation or foaling stall with PolyMax siding and a concrete floor. There is also an entrance through the arena to the 20’ x 24’ heated tack room—which also features a door to the outside. A viewing area to the side of the indoor arena provides a safe place for horse training clinic attendees to stand or sit. The facility also contains a 1-bedroom and 1-bathroom apartment with a full kitchen for a traveling clinician, on-site trainer or ranch manager to quarter in. The bedroom, bathroom and kitchen are heated with cove-based radiant heaters and cooled with a wall mounted A/C unit. There is also an unheated/uncooled multi-use space measuring 10’ 5” x 15’ 10” providing a living room or storage space. This metal building also features a wash bay with hitching post, concrete floors, floor drain and hot & cold water. The entire north side of the building has an overhang measuring 24’ x 140’ for hay storage and there is also a vehicle/equipment bay measuring 40’ 6” x 23’ 5” for truck or trailer parking.
Equestrian Property With Hay & Excellent Water Rights
The remaining acreage of this tremendous horse property consists of paddocks, an outdoor riding area, round pen and 15 acres of irrigated hayfields. There is over 5,500 lineal feet of welded pipe fencing surrounding the 6 horse paddocks and arenas. Frost free hydrants and electricity are strategically located at the pen intersections for easy watering, electric heaters and electric fence chargers. Each of the 6 horse pens has its own loafing shed and two of the pens have automatic waterers. The property has a huge 178’ x 256’ outdoor riding arena with an elevated area for easy viewing. The outdoor arena footing consists of soft dirt and some pea gravel. Adjacent to the outdoor riding arena is a 60’ pressed steel-panel, round pen. There are two hayfields on the eastern side of the property totaling approximately 15 acres. Planted in an equine grass mix and alfalfa, the fields have consistently produced 3-4 cuttings per year, providing a self-sustainable year round source of feed for the horses. Excellent water rights and a series of underground pipes and valves makes moving water a very simple and efficient process. Underground piping allows for head water and tail water to be easily diverted to different areas of the property including a nice wooded area, several tree rows, gardens and an irrigation holding pond with water fall.

Colorado animal rescues say they are losing out on opportunities to find new homes for abandoned horses because they have to outbid horse traders at auction who intend to sell the animals for slaughter. But horse traders say that’s just how business works and there just aren’t enough rescues to care for all of the unwanted horses in Colorado.

Colorado (
i/kɒləˈrædoʊ/, or /kɒləˈrɑːdoʊ/) (Spanish for "ruddy") is a state in the United States encompassing most of the Southern Rocky Mountains as well as the northeastern portion of the Colorado Plateau and the western edge of the Great Plains. Colorado is part of the Western United States, the Southwestern United States, and the Mountain States. Colorado is the 8th most extensive and the 22nd most populous of the 50 United States. The United States Census Bureau estimates that the population of Colorado was 5,456,574 on July 1, 2015, an increase of 8.50% since the 2010 United States Census.
The state was named for the Colorado River, which Spanish travelers named the Río Colorado for the ruddy (Spanish: colorado) silt the river carried from the mountains. The Territory of Colorado was organized on February 28, 1861, and on August 1, 1876, U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant signed Proclamation 230 admitting Colorado to the Union as the 38th state. Colorado is nicknamed the "Centennial State" because it became a state 28 days after the centennial of the United States Declaration of Independence.

Colorado wine
Colorado wine refers to wine made from grapes grown in the U.S. state of Colorado. Most of Colorado's vineyards are located on the western slope of the Rocky Mountains, though an increasing number of wineries are located along the Front Range.
Geography and climate
Colorado's grape growing regions contain some of the highest elevation vineyards in the world, with most viticulture in the state practiced between 4,000 feet (1,219 m) and 7,000 feet (2,134 m) feet above sea level. The mountain climate ensures warm summer days and cool nights. Colorado is home to two designated American Viticultural Areas of the Grand Valley AVA and the West Elks AVA, where most of the vineyards in the state are located. Approximately 100 commercial wineries operate in Colorado and about 1,000 acres (405 ha) are planted to grapevines. Other wine regions include: the Four Corners area near Cortez, near Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, and Durango; Pikes Peak/Arkansas River Valley near Salida, Canon City, and Manitou Springs; and the Front Range between Fort Collins and Castle Rock, with many wineries located in the Denver metropolitan area.

Colorado (horse)
Colorado (1923–1929) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. He won the 2000 Guineas in 1926 and the Eclipse Stakes in 1927. He was also noted for his rivalry with the Derby winner Coronach whom he defeated on three of their four meetings.
Background
Until the emergence of Fairway at the end of the decade, Colorado was regarded as the best racehorse sired by Phalaris, who became the most influential stallion of the 20th Century. His dam, Canyon, won the 1000 Guineas in 1916 and was a successful broodmare. In addition to Colorado she produced the Eclipse Stakes winner Caerleon.
He was a small, but powerfully built colt standing just over 15 hands, known to be a particular favourite of his owner, Lord Derby. He was trained at Lord Derby's Stanley House stable by George Lambton who found him a difficult horse to prepare because of his habit of "choking" in exercise gallops.
Racing career
1925: two-year-old season
Colorado was a leading two-year-old in 1925, winning the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot. In the Free Handicap, an official assessment of the year's two-year-olds, Colorado was assesses on 118lbs, eight pounds below the joint topweights Coronach and Legatee.

Colorado horses sold for slaughter, even when rescues want to help
Colorado animal rescues say they are losing out on opportunities to find new homes for abandoned horses because they have to outbid horse traders at auction who intend to sell the animals for slaughter. But horse traders say that’s just how business works and there just aren’t enough rescues to care for all of the unwanted horses in Colorado.

Ranch-Style Home Constructed in 2013, this ranch-style home has 2,208 square feet of climate controlled living space with an additional 1,020 square foot unfinished basement. The 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom home features a spacious and open floor plan with an eat-in kitchen which opens to the living room. The large kitchen features hickory cabinets and wood laminate flooring. The living room, trimmed in alder, features a Mendota propane fireplace framed with a Realstone surround and hearth and 2 large picture windows—providing abundant ambient light and spectacular views of the Tongue Creek Valley and Grand Mesa to the north. A walk-in pantry is located just off of the kitchen and adjacent to a large laundry/mudroom—with ample space for coats and boots. The main-floor master bedroom features a propane fireplace and private entrance to a covered outdoor patio which overlooks the backyard garden. A jack-and-jill bathroom connects the remaining 2 bedrooms. The 2-car garage is has fully finished walls and ceilings with a PolyMax wainscotting and is insulated. The exterior walls of the home are of 2x6 construction with closed-cell foam insulation. The home and barn share a domestic water tap and there is also a drilled well on the property that current servers some outdoor frost free hydrants. A pressure tank for the well is installed in the crawlspace of the home. Equestrian Barn With Trainer’s Apartment This Colorado horse property is for the serious equestrian hobbyist or professional horse trainer. The centerpiece of the property is the structural steel framed barn facility. The inside of this building features a dressage sized 70’ x 140’ indoor horseback riding arena. The indoor arena has a 3-rail, welded pipe perimeter fence with a wood-shaving and dirt floor which provides excellent footing. Adjacent to the the arena is a 12’ x 18’ isolation or foaling stall with PolyMax siding and a concrete floor. There is also an entrance through the arena to the 20’ x 24’ heated tack room—which also features a door to the outside. A viewing area to the side of the indoor arena provides a safe place for horse training clinic attendees to stand or sit. The facility also contains a 1-bedroom and 1-bathroom apartment with a full kitchen for a traveling clinician, on-site trainer or ranch manager to quarter in. The bedroom, bathroom and kitchen are heated with cove-based radiant heaters and cooled with a wall mounted A/C unit. There is also an unheated/uncooled multi-use space measuring 10’ 5” x 15’ 10” providing a living room or storage space. This metal building also features a wash bay with hitching post, concrete floors, floor drain and hot & cold water. The entire north side of the building has an overhang measuring 24’ x 140’ for hay storage and there is also a vehicle/equipment bay measuring 40’ 6” x 23’ 5” for truck or trailer parking. Equestrian Property With Hay & Excellent Water Rights The remaining acreage of this tremendous horse property consists of paddocks, an outdoor riding area, round pen and 15 acres of irrigated hayfields. There is over 5,500 lineal feet of welded pipe fencing surrounding the 6 horse paddocks and arenas. Frost free hydrants and electricity are strategically located at the pen intersections for easy watering, electric heaters and electric fence chargers. Each of the 6 horse pens has its own loafing shed and two of the pens have automatic waterers. The property has a huge 178’ x 256’ outdoor riding arena with an elevated area for easy viewing. The outdoor arena footing consists of soft dirt and some pea gravel. Adjacent to the outdoor riding arena is a 60’ pressed steel-panel, round pen. There are two hayfields on the eastern side of the property totaling approximately 15 acres. Planted in an equine grass mix and alfalfa, the fields have consistently produced 3-4 cuttings per year, providing a self-sustainable year round source of feed for the horses. Excellent water rights and a series of underground pipes and valves makes moving water a very simple and efficient process. Underground piping allows for head water and tail water to be easily diverted to different areas of the property including a nice wooded area, several tree rows, gardens and an irrigation holding pond with water fall. The Territory of Colorado was organized on February 28, 1861, and on August 1, 1876, U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant signed Proclamation 230 admitting Colorado to the Union as the 38th state. Colorado is nicknamed the "Centennial State" because it became a state 28 days after the centennial of the United States Declaration of Independence.
