HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Everton (3-0) | WSL | McCabe, Wubben-Moy, Maanum
We made it five wins from five in the Women’s Super League on Sunday as we beat Everton 3-0 at Meadow Park.
We’re now the only team in the division to have won each of their opening five league fixtures - a welcome statistic for Jonas Eidevall.
Our head coach opted for four changes from the side that lost to Barcelona on Wednesday night, with Lotte Wubben-Moy, Mana Iwabuchi, Nikita Parris and Tobin Heath all stepping up on their return to the starting XI.
We took control of the game early on and found plenty of joy down the left-hand side, where Vivianne Miedema, Heath and Katie McCabe were able to combine and interchange at every attack.

HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Brighton (3-0) | U23 | Balogun (2), Salah-Eddine
Our under-23s returned to winning ways in the Premier League 2 on Friday night as they secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Brighton at Emirates Stadium.
Folarin Balogun scored twice and looked likely throughout, while Salah-Eddine maintained his fine form since returning from injury, also finding the back of the net.
The visitors made a bright start in north London and carved out some promising chances, but it was Kevin Betsy’s side who would open the scoring.
Joel Lopez played a quick throw-in into the feet of Balogun inside the penalty area, and our striker wriggled past a challenge before eventually being fouled by a second Brighton defender.
Balogun stepped up from 12 yards and saw his initial effort saved, before pouncing on the keeper’s mistake to convert on the rebound.

HIGHLIGHTS | Burnley vs Arsenal (0-1) | Premier League | Odegaard with a beautiful free-kick!
The left foot of Martin Odegaard made all the difference as we chalked up back-to-back 1-0 wins in the Premier League.
On a hot and sunny afternoon at Turf Moor, the Norwegian midfielder sent a perfectly-placed free-kick beyond the grasp of Nick Pope to seal victory for Mikel Arteta's side.
We started the faster of the two sides, with a dangerous low ball from Kieran Tierney threatening the Burnley goal as Nicolas Pepe forced Pope into action.
The hosts threatened sparingly. Ben Mee headed over Aaron Ramsdale's goal from a corner, before Gudmundsson's strike was saved by our new stopper.
Emile Smith Rowe threatened to score a second when he connected with Pepe's cut-back, but his curling effort whizzed narrowly over Pope's crossbar.
The second half brought more opportunities for the ...

HIGHLIGHTS | Brighton vs Arsenal (0-0) | Premier League
We toiled to a goalless draw at a rain-lashed Amex Stadium to extend our unbeaten run in the Premier League to four games.
In truth we didn't do enough to deserve all three points, and were grateful for some wayward finishing from the hosts - in the opening 45 minutes especially.
To be honest we struggled to get to grips with the difficult conditions throughout the opening half. As the rain fell consistently, we spent most of the first period camped in our own half.
Bukayo Saka had actually carved the first chance of the game, after just a couple of minutes, outsprinting Dan Burn on the right flank, but his low shot was easily gathered by Robert Sanchez.

HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Watford (4-1) | Nketiah, Lacazette, Tierney, Azeez
We scored four goals in a single game for the second time this week, as we stepped up our pre-season preparations with a win over Premier League new boys Watford on Wednesday.
Picking up from where we left off in Saturday's behind-closed-doors clash with Millwall, Eddie Nketiah, Alex Lacazette, Kieran Tierney and Miguel Azeez all found the back of the net as we continued to build momentum ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
It was a fast start by Mikel Arteta's side, too, who stormed into an early lead thanks to Willian's vision and the individual brilliance of Nketiah. First our Brazilian collected the ball on the turn deep inside his half and threaded a fine through ball into his team-mate's path on the left wing.
Hugging the touchline, Nketiah angled his run towards the penalty area and ...

HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur (3-1) | Smith Rowe, Aubameyang, Saka
We won the north London derby with a dazzling display of first-half football at a sun-drenched Emirates Stadium to blow Tottenham away on Sunday.
We came into this game off the back of three successive wins, and with confidence returning we immediately stamped our authority on the game.
With Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey snapping into tackles, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang fired up and making his presence felt, we unsettled the visitors all over the park.
Roared on by an incredible atmosphere inside Emirates Stadium, we took the lead with a goal made in Hale End as Bukayo Saka picked out Emile Smith Rowe in the area and the 21-year-old slotted home to spark jubilant celebrations.
Partey then saw a goalbound shot palmed around the post by Hugo Lloris as we continued to pile on the pres...

HIGHLIGHTS | West Brom vs Arsenal (0-6) | Carabao Cup | Aubameyang (3), Pepe, Saka, Lacazette
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a hat-trick as we eased into the third round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, courtesy of a 6-0 win at West Bromwich Albion.
On a near-perfect evening during which Aaron Ramsdale marked his Gunners debut with some fines saves and a clean sheet, and Martin Odegaard celebrated his return with a glorious backheel assist, our captain - making his first start of the campaign - took home the matchball after a typically-clinical performance in front of goal.
Nicolas Pepe, Bukayo Saka and Alexandre Lacazette added further gloss to the scoreline against a young Baggies side who carved out some decent openings of their own, but had no answer to the attacking dynamism of Aubameyang et al.
Auba had given West Brom an early warning, getting in behind and margin...

HIGHLIGHTS | Hibernian vs Arsenal (2-1) | Pre-season friendly | Smith Rowe scores
Emile Smith Rowe was on target on Tuesday evening as we were beaten by Hibernian at Easter Road in our first game of pre-season.
With much of the focus on fitness and combination play, we started brightly enough and had a golden chance when Eddie Nketiah raced clean through on goal – only for the striker to shoot wide.
Reiss Nelson soon tested former Gunner Matt Macey with a firm strike as we forced the home side back, and from the resulting corner Nketiah sent a glancing header wide.
But out of nowhere, we gifted the Scottish side the lead when Arthur Okonkwo failed to deal with a tricky backpass from Cedric, and Martin Boyle had the simple task of collecting the loose ball and rolling it in from close range.
We fashioned a decent chance for an equaliser when a deep ball to the back p...

We then went on to double our advantage shortly before the break, with Wubben-Moy climbing high inside the penalty area to head home McCabe’s floated corner delivery.
We continued to dominate play throughout the second half, carving out a number of promising opportunities with Beth Mead coming closest, but our third would arrive late on and in some style too.
After scoring her first Arsenal goal in our defeat against Barcelona earlier this week, Frida Maanum was clearly hungry for more and with a stunning effort from 25 yards, arrowed the ball into the top left corner.

From there we dominated play for the remainder of the first-half and with a well-worked passing move from defence to attack, Lopez crossed for Salah-Eddine inside the penalty area, who applied the all-important final touch with a sweeping finish.
Balogun then went on to make it three in the second half. Latching onto a raking diagonal pass from Omar Rekik, our young striker picked up the ball on the left wing and faced up to his marker, before producing an exceptional piece of skill to flick the ball into the penalty area and invite a late challenge from the full back.
Once again it was Balogun who stepped up to the challenge and our No 11 made no mistake this time around, coolly firing down the middle to secure all three points.

Emile Smith Rowe threatened to score a second when he connected with Pepe's cut-back, but his curling effort whizzed narrowly over Pope's crossbar.
The second half brought more opportunities for the Clarets than the first, with Ramsdale forced into action to deny a powerful strike from Maxwel Cornet after the Ivorian international stepped off the bench.
Our goalkeeper was in the thick of the action again soon after, when he was adjudged to have tripped Matej Vydra in the box after a backpass from Ben White.
However, a VAR review quickly corrected the situation - much to the relief of the travelling support - and no penalty was awarded.
Dwight McNeil then drilled a low shot into the side-netting, while Vydra flicked a header just beyond the far post soon after.
Frustration grew in the ground as Sean Dyche's side attempted to battle their way back into the game. Despite a late spell of pressure and a couple of forced nervy moments, our defence stood firm in the face of waves of Burnley attacks.
The victory marks consecutive clean sheets and sees us continue to build some much-needed positive momentum ahead of next weekend's north London derby.

Aubameyang looked to have a one on one with Sanchez early in the second half, only to be brought back after a very late - but correct - offside flag.
But our best chance came with 15 minutes remaining. Thomas Partey released Smith Rowe with a first-time pass, Smith Rowe advanced into the area and shot low at the near post, but Sanchez denied him. Saka was screaming for the cross all the while.
Ramsdale made a big save from Solly March to keep it goalless late on, and in the end we had to settle for a single point.

Hugging the touchline, Nketiah angled his run towards the penalty area and ducked inside his man before rifling a low effort into the far corner. With the speed, accuracy and dip on the strike, there was nothing Rob Elliot could do to deny our young forward.
But, undeterred, the Hornets were still keen to inflict their own sting in the tail and burst downfield in response. Imran Louza shot well wide of the target and forced Bernd Leno into a low stop, but our returning German would be beaten moments later.
Under duress from Watford's high press, Mohamed Elneny was caught in possession inside our penalty area, allowing Philip Zinckernagel to level the scores from close range.
Again, Arteta used the interval to freshen up his side and with the half-time introductions of Hector Bellerin, Nicolas Pepe and Alex Lacazette, we came flying out of the traps.
Nketiah had the first opportunity, heading over from Bellerin's deep cross, before Pepe sliced his half-volley inches wide of the top corner.
At the other end, Ashley Fletcher had a golden opportunity to put his side ahead for the first time, but he dragged his low strike well wide of Alex Runarsson's far post.
And just two minutes later, the former England youth international was made to rue his misfired shot. Lacazette took a free-kick quickly to release Ainsley Maitland-Niles inside the box, and our Hale End graduate was bundled over as Watford scrambled to rediscover their defensive shape.
Lacazette grabbed the ball and, after placing it down on the penalty spot, sent Daniel Bachmann the wrong way to restore our lead.
And it got better just moments later. Emile Smith Rowe steamed down the right-hand side and sent a dangerous ball across the face of goal to Kieran Tierney, who set himself before smashing a half-volley into the roof of the net.
Lacazette had three more chances to score from open play, firing two snap-shots wide and hitting the base of the post with the most delicate of chips, but it was Azeez who had the final say.
Our 18-year-old collected a short corner on the right-hand side of Watford's penalty area, shifted the ball onto his left foot and curled a magnificent strike into the top corner to round off another productive performance for Arteta's side.
Starting XI: Leno, Cedric, Chambers, Mari, Tavares, Lokonga, Elneny, Nelson, Willian, Nketiah, Aubameyang
Substitutes: Runarsson (for Leno 46), Bellerin (for Cedric 46), Holding (for Chambers 46), Tierney (for Tavares 46), Partey (for Elneny 46), Pepe (for Nelson 46), Lacazette (for Aubameyang 46), Kolasinac (for Mari 64), Azeez (for Lokonga 64), Smith Rowe (for Willian 64), Maitland-Niles (for Nketiah 64)

Partey then saw a goalbound shot palmed around the post by Hugo Lloris as we continued to pile on the pressure, but the Tottenham goalkeeper could do nothing about our second.
Surely already a contender for goal of the season, the move started from the back as Xhaka did well to turn out of pressure on the edge of his area, launching a slick counter attack involving Martin Odegaard, Kieran Tierney, Aubameyang and Smith Rowe.
Our captain played the opening goalscorer into space with a superb flick and Smith Rowe raced into the area, before cutting the ball back to Aubameyang to finish left footed – and the forward celebrated a la Thierry Henry in the corner.
It was just reward for a team performance full of energy, endeavour and quality – and we didn’t have long to wait for our third as our Hale End graduates combined again.
This time Smith Rowe collected the ball in his own half, and played the ball into space on the right for Saka. The England international raced at goal, and after being tackled by Harry Kane in the area, the ball broke kindly for him and he slotted low beyond Lloris to make it three.
The visitors struggled to mount a response before the interval, although Kane did head inches wide from a corner but they did pose more of a threat after half time.
Aaron Ramsdale had to be alert to palm away a Kane shot, and then minutes later the England captain lifted a shot over our goalkeeper but it drifted wide.
But back we came, with the irrepressible Saka cutting in from the right and calling Lloris into action again with a curling shot.
Son pulled one back for the visitors towards the end, but it did little to take the gloss off a fine afternoon in N5 as we made it four wins on the bounce.

Auba had given West Brom an early warning, getting in behind and marginally taking the ball out of play before crossing for Pepe to knock home from close range.
The hosts didn’t heed their reprieve and fell behind after 17 minutes, Aubameyang tapping home from close range after Alex Palmer pushed Saka’s initial effort into his path.
Odegaard went close to adding a second midway through the half, hitting the post from a tight angle, while Palmer raced from his goal to prevent Aubameyang from taking the ball around the goalkeeper after he had accelerated clear of the hosts’ inexperienced backline.
Despite Arsenal threatening sporadically, it looked as though West Brom’s young side would go into the break just a goal behind. Enter Aubameyang. Mohamed Elneny’s slide-rule pass sent Pepe clear and, though he was denied by the frame of the goal, Auba was once more perfectly placed to finish from close range.
There was still time for Arsenal to add a third before the break - Aubameyang turning provider by acrobatically teeing up Pepe to sweep home from inside the six-yard box after another lightning quick break.
It took just five minutes after the restart for a now rampant Arsenal to add a fourth. Odegaard took centre stage, delightfully backheeling the ball through to the onrushing Saka, who finished clinically after Aubameyang - in an offside position - had intelligently left the ball.
Just after the hour, Aubameyang completed his hat-trick in style, curling into the top corner from just inside the area.
Lacazette completed the scoring soon after, firing home Pepe’s inviting low cross just two minutes after replacing Granit Xhaka.
Ramsdale - impressive on his first appearance - saved well from Taylor Gardner-Hickman in the closing stages as we completed our first victory of the season in emphatic fashion.

We fashioned a decent chance for an equaliser when a deep ball to the back post was headed back across goal by Sead Kolasinac, but Nelson’s goalbound shot hit Nketiah and deflected away.
Okonkwo soon made a sharp save to push away Stephen Bradley’s shot, before the Hibs striker hit the post moments later before the half-time break.
Mikel Arteta made seven changes at the interval, and one of them – Nicolas Pepe – came close to an immediate impact as his goalbound free kick from the edge of the area was pushed over.
Pepe soon saw a shot deflected just wide, while Folarin Balogun had an effort saved as we stepped things up – before Thomas Partey struck the post with a superb long-range free kick.
But, just like the first half, we were hit by a suckerpunch when a deep corner swung in from the right was headed back across goal by Paul Hanlon, and Daniel Mackay headed in from close range to double the hosts’ lead.
We looked to have a way back into the game when Pepe was taken down in the area and a penalty was awarded, but the Ivorian’s spot kick was saved.
We got back into the match with seven minutes remaining when, at the end of an intricate passing move, Hector Bellerin picked out Smith Rowe at the back post and he fired in.
But there was to be no late equaliser but Arteta will have seen plenty to encourage him despite the result.
